President Trump awarded Spain their medals and trophy on Sunday following the team’s stunning victory over Argentina at the World Cup tournament final.
Trump joined FIFA president Giovanni Infantino on the field minutes after Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 after a long and difficult game in which both teams struggled to score for long stretches. Take a look: Per tradition, the leader of the host country often awards the winning team its trophy and medals at the conclusion of the World Cup final. Trump did not officially state which team he hoped would be victorious, but he did express his appreciation for Argentina superstar Lionel Messi and Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

The United States launched a new wave of strikes against Iran early Monday morning, US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated in a post to X/Twitter.
"The strikes will continue degrading Iranian military capabilities used to attack commercial vessels and civilian mariners transiting the Strait of Hormuz," CENTCOM wrote. Iranian media reported explosions heard in the cities of Tabriz, Chabahar, Konarak, Bandar Mahshahr, and Bandar Imam Khomeini.
Iran retaliates against Gulf States
This marks the ninth consecutive night of US strikes against Iran. Iran has been retaliating by targeting US bases and other infrastructure in neighboring countries.

Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha, welcomed their fourth child, Alec Neel Vance, on Sunday, according to a statement they posted on X.
"We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning. Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother," the statement said.
The vice president and the second lady thanked the staff at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, just north of Washington, D.C., where Usha Vance delivered the child and is recovering.

After eight nights of pounding by American forces, Iran is reeling. They've managed a few counterattacks, most notably a missile and drone attack on Jordan that cost the lives of (we now know) three American service members. But the beating they are taking is all out of proportion to what they are dishing out.
Now there's an indication that the biggest rats may be leaving this sinking ship. There are reports from an "Israeli security source," quoted in the Times of Israel, that the so-called Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, may have left Iran, destination unknown.

Retired U.S. Navy Adm. James Stavridis on Sunday warned that the U.S. should watch Iran’s actions in the Suez Canal.
“It’s got more traffic flowing through it than the Strait of Hormuz, and the Iranians are beginning to make noises about attempting to close that, using the Houthis in the southwest corner,” Stavridis told CNN’s Jake Tapper, referring to the Iranian-backed militant group in Yemen.
Stavridis said Iran is “adaptive” in fighting the war with the U.S. and suggested that they are watching Ukraine’s actions “very closely.”
“They’re watching what’s happening very closely in Ukraine, or they are kind of playing the part of the Ukrainians, using innovation

The new platform of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) got a lot of attention this week.
The revision to the DSA platform, "Workers Deserve More," plans to abolish the Senate entirely and replace the president and Supreme Court with an executive branch and judiciary elected by and subordinate to Congress.
They also want to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), defund the Department of War, end deportations, ease restrictions on immigration control for migration between countries, and "extend full voting rights to people with criminal convictions and noncitizens."

Iran is finding out that the United States under President Trump doesn't mess around when U.S. servicemembers are killed by its reckless missile strikes.
As RedState wrote earlier on Saturday:
The U.S. Central Command, which oversees American military operations in the Middle East, has now revealed that two United States service members were killed and one remains missing following a missile and drone attack by Iran. The attack was targeted at the U.S. forces in Jordan.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth reacted to the attack in an X post in an update, writing:
Godspeed, heroes.
Their sacrifice only stiffens our resolve.

There’s not a whole lot of information yet, but a corpse was found Saturday at a Boston-area property owned by Conan Harris, husband to Squad Member Rep. Ayanna Pressley (MA-7). The couple does not live in the house but rents it out to tenants.
Here’s what we know:
Police spokesperson James Moccia told CBS News Boston officers were called to 25 Malta Street in Boston's Mattapan neighborhood at 1:52 p.m. "for a report to investigate a person."
When they arrived, they found the person deceased, Moccia said.
Moccia did not have any further details and said the homicide unit is handling the investigation.

Iranian state TV, amid a series of threats from Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei against the “Great Satan” America, has labeled Donald Trump the “'number one target of the Iranians.'”
Amir-Hossein Tahmasebi is a host on Iranian state TV, and therefore acts as a mouthpiece of the terrorist regime's sentiments. Indeed, the Iranian parliament has a €50 million (about $57 million) price on Trump‘s head, besides a bounty on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Earlier this month, Tahmasebi commented on Trump's presence at the NATO summit, and expressed the official regime determination to assassinate the U.S. president. Unsurprisingly, the Iranian parliament is promoting the same goal:

On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “The Story,” New York City DSA Co-Chair Gustavo Gordillo said that if a private store in New York City is put out of business by one of the government-run grocery stores in the city, “then maybe they shouldn’t have been in that business in the first place.”
Host Martha MacCallum asked, “I guess the question is, how does the government become more democratized if the government takes over more of the power? So, for example, here in New York, if you have government-owned grocery stores, right? And that was what Mamdani promised, I know you were supportive of his election,

Prominent House Democrats appeared befuddled when asked about the Democratic Socialists of America’s (DSA) platform that seeks to destroy the American political system guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.
That, from a report Saturday by Fox News.
“I don’t support that,” Rep. Ro Khanna, (D-CA), said when asked about the new agenda. “I haven’t read the proposal.”
The DSA platform includes eliminating the Senate, the presidency, and the Supreme Court, measures which essentially would rewrite the U.S. Constitution and would end American governance as we know it.

Things in the Middle East are growing very spicy indeed, with two American service members killed in the line of duty and President Trump ordering, shall we say, a vigorous reply to be visited upon Iran. Things are liable to get worse before they get better, and now the Trump administration is taking steps to keep Americans in the rest of the world safe.
On Saturday, the State Department issued a travel warning to Americans traveling abroad. The post reads:
Worldwide Caution: Due to heightened tensions in the Middle East, the security environment remains complex with the potential for unforeseen escalation. We remind Americans in the region of the continued need for caution
