You know it's tough times in the entertainment biz when two of the oldest and most storied studios in Hollywood are forced into the merger-and-acquisition tango in hopes that they can both stay afloat. But it's a sign of something even crazier when the buyer threatens to leave Hollywood to escape the state's regulatory noose. That's the word this weekend, when Semafor reported that "Paramount is reportedly considering leaving California" as Attorney General Rob Bonta is reportedly "preparing a lawsuit over its planned $111 billion takeover of Warner Bros. I hope Paramount decides to leave. This will be fun to watch. If it happens, Hollywood is dead - Paramount won’t be the last to pull out.

Paramount Studios sits on a very large tract of land that could be developed. Paramount, like many other large companies, will be leaving the State due to the extreme liberal policies being pushed by Sacramento. I would hope more would stay and push to change the super-majority Democrat stranglehold they helped elect.

A federal judge on Monday blasted President Trump’s lawsuit against the IRS and sanctioned his lawyers. Miami-based US District Judge Kathleen Williams, an Obama appointee, referred Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche and Trump’s other attorneys to the state bar authorities for disciplinary action. “Court finds that this matter was brought for an improper purpose — to gain the imprimatur of judicial legitimacy for a ‘settlement’ that had no viable basis in law or fact,” Judge Williams wrote in a scathing opinion. In May, Judge Williams launched an investigation into the Trump Administration’s settlement with the IRS that led to the $1.77 billion anti-weaponization fund.

A black feminist historian whose work is being labeled as misleading — and who may have lost her cushy academic job — says it all comes down to an attack on black women. The New York Times tells the tale of Kerri Greenidge, whose 2022 book “The Grimkes” was hailed for its narrative about a slaveholding family and its work in the abolitionist movement. Publishers Weekly put the book on its list of that year’s top books, while the American Historical Association handed Greenidge the Joan Kelly Memorial Prize, which honors scholars in women’s history and feminist theory.

The US unleashed its military might on Iran after the regime attacked a commercial vessel and declared the Strait of Hormuz closed Saturday. “Iran made a poor choice. Now they pay,” Secretary of War Pete Hegseth posted on X. The Islamic Republic attacked the M/V GFS Galaxy, a container vessel flying the flag of Cyprus, according to United States Central Command. A civilian crew member from the ship is now missing and the vessel suffered significant engine room damage in the strikes, CENTCOM added. The agency vowed that Tehran would pay a “heavy cost” and said that the retaliation,

The primary agent noticed the driver was extremely nervous during the initial immigration inspection. The driver volunteered he was hauling produce in a non-refrigerated trailer and the primary agent directed the truck to the x- ray area for scanning. The tractor trailer traveled northbound driving by the backscatter truck without being scanned. Responding quickly, an agent located the tractor and conducted a traffic stop. When the agent broke the seal on the trailer and opened the door,

The mobsters in “The Godfather” set their sights way too low. If they really wanted to make it big time, they should have targeted federal entitlement programs instead of gamblers and drug addicts. Not only does it pay better, but you can count on one political party to look the other way. The Government Accountability Office (GAO) figures that fraudsters make off with more than $500 billion of federal taxpayer money a year, plus another $184 billion in “improper payments.” That isn’t just bigger than U.S. Steel. That’s five times as big as the entire steel industry. Every day, it seems, there are reports of fraud, most of it involving federal entitlement programs.

Who are these Democratic Socialists of America that are so frequently mentioned in the news? Are they traditional European socialists? Are they anarchists? Are they communists? I think they don’t mind if you label them any of those three rubrics. But let’s go through a diagnosis, a methodology, a therapy, prognosis, as if we’re doctors looking at a malady or a disease. So, first of all, what are their symptoms? Well, their symptoms are they have an agenda that’s way out of the norm. And what is that agenda? Well, one, they want open borders, amnesty for illegal immigration, and the conflation of citizenship and mere residency.

Every ballot error from the June 16 primary came from a hand-marked one, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said Thursday. The ballot image audit shows an accuracy rate of 99.93% for hand-marked ballots and 100% for machine-marked ballots. "Human beings make human errors and the likelihood of a discrepancy between voter intent and what’s marked on a ballot is greatest when that ballot has been marked by hand," Raffensperger said in a statement. Raffensperger's office has faced scrutiny since the 2020 election about the accuracy of the Dominion voting machines. Salleigh Grubbs, a member of the Georgia State Election Board, advocates for hand-marked ballots.

New Jersey is slamming taxpayers with a one-two punch: forcing them to pay more for their roads — and trampling on the Constitution to do it. When Evesham Township in southern New Jersey needed some roads repaved in 2025, it put the job out for bid. Of the eight responding contractors, Earle Asphalt Co.’s bid came in lowest, at $1,463,513. That’s where the story should have ended: Earle gets the job, taxpayers get their roads fixed at the best price, everyone goes home happy. It’s not what happened. Seven days after bids closed, the Evesham Township Council passed a resolution mandating that all public works contracts include a project labor agreement.

It's no big secret that New York City's mayor, Zohran Mamdani, hates America, so it stands to reason that most, if not all, of the people he brought on to work in his administration would likely share a similar mindset. When Operation Epic Fury got underway in late February, it was not a shock to see the democratic socialist react with such outrage, proclaiming that the strikes "mark a catastrophic escalation in an illegal act of war of aggression,” while adding that "bombing cities, killing civilians, opening up a new theater of war — Americans do not want this."

Mass evacuations were ordered as authorities worried the whole thing could come down. The property is being converted into luxury residences. The situation has been stabilized for now, but there’s still the danger of a partial collapse, and portions of the building may need to be demolished. It turns out the developer of the building, MetroLoft, is also facing a massive lawsuit over defects in another property, one that’s home to the jet set in the Greenwich Village section of the Big Apple.

"Beginning in the 19th century the development of national parks and protected areas in Canada disrupted these relationships through exclusion and colonial injustices,"

Democrats have many problems, not the least of which is an inability to understand, and for some the refusal to accept, basic economics. If they did, there wouldn’t be proposals to raise the federal minimum wage to a preposterous $25 an hour. House Resolution 8555 would “place the federal minimum wage on a durable path toward a living wage,” requiring “large, highly profitable corporations to lead the transition.” Under its yoke, large employers would have to raise their lowest wage from the current $7.25 an hour to $15 an hour on Jan. 1, 2027, a more-than-double spike that would shock the market. Large companies,

A resident described the scene: “Hundreds of people were walking and running down our street, jumping on top of cars, twerking, smoking blunts.” One group twerked on the top of a city bus. At about 9 pm, the Chicago Police Department closed Lake Shore Drive. As sirens wailed, the Hyde Park resident armed himself with bear spray to retrieve something from his car. For decades, the Democratic Party exploited—but also restrained—its more liberal, anti-American activists. However, as they have become outrageously progressive, communistic, and violent, they have lost control of themselves, and now they are taking over. Democratic Party operatives thought they could maintain control, and for a while, they succeeded. The efforts of aggressive progressive partisans succeeded in taking over the DNC in 1972. They promoted progressive George McGovern for president, and the Democratic National Committee embraced some of the most radical left-wing positions.

On Saturday former Clinton advisor James Carville took to YouTube and delivered what purported to be a “Presidential History Lesson.” It was a fairly typical Carvillian rant, yet quite revealing about how worried the Democratic establishment is about the damage the DSA insurgency is doing to their party. He begins his diatribe with the 2000 election and insists that every Democrat loss from then on was caused by leftist attacks on the centrist candidates the party nominated. Consequently, George W. Bush won in 2000 because Ralph Nader attacked Al Gore from the left.
