A Utah judge in the case against the man accused of killing Charlie Kirk ruled Friday to hold a prosecutor in civil contempt for violating a pretrial publicity order but opted to leave the death penalty in place as a possible outcome in the murder trial. The defense’s contempt motion stemmed from comments prosecutor Christopher Ballard, also a spokesperson for the Utah County Attorney’s Office, made to media outlets this spring about an inconclusive ballistics report mentioned in a defense filing. While trying to clarify the results of the report to reporters, Ballard also referenced the strength of the state’s case against Tyler Robinson – statements the judge on Friday

Britain is in even worse shape than I thought. From the Telegraph: “Air conditioning torn from homes under net zero clampdown.” Homeowners are being forced to tear out air conditioning from their private properties under climate laws, despite rising temperatures. Council planning officers ordered residents to remove air-con units over fears they produce too much carbon dioxide, stating they should only be used as a “last resort”. The net zero clampdown is part of building regulations that state “active cooling” should only ever be allowed when all other means of “passive cooling”, such as opening windows or using fans, have been exhausted. So whether you can air condition your home

On Thursday afternoon, court reporters who had been following the trial of Palisades Fire suspect Jonathan Rinderknecht were buzzing on social media with news that the jury in the case had reached a verdict. Brittny Mejia, the Metro reporter for the Los Angeles Times, was one of several journalists who initially wrote that a verdict had been reached. Later, however, it was shared that the jury had indicated they were "at a standstill": (X) The note also stressed that each side in the jury room was "deadset." Mejia revealed in a follow-up tweet that it appeared the judge was going to send a note

The company formerly known as Dominion Voting Systems is ending a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit against Mike Lindell, the MyPillow magnate and President Trump ally who has promoted false claims that the 2020 election was stolen. Dominion sued the businessman in 2021, alleging that Lindell knew there was no evidence to support his election conspiracy theories, but used the lies to sell pillows. When he was sued, Lindell told WCCO's Esme Murphy that he was "very happy" about the lawsuit, saying the truth would come out. In October 2025, Dominion was acquired by St. Louis-based Liberty Vote, which was founded by former Republican elections director Scott Leiendecker.

The U.S. Supreme Court voted 6–3 on June 25 to strike down a Hawaii gun law that banned residents from carrying concealed weapons in privately owned public places, such as gas stations and shopping malls. The majority opinion in Wolford v. Lopez was authored by Justice Samuel Alito. Justices Elena Kagan, Ketanji Brown Jackson, and Sonia Sotomayor dissented in the case, which was closely watched by gun rights advocates. Alito said the Second Amendment “has the same meaning in all parts of the United States.” “It cannot give way to ‘the spirit of Aloha’ in Hawaii … any more than it can yield to the spirit of the Big Apple …

An elderly woman was killed and another man was injured after a rogue Tesla in Autopilot mode crashed into a home in Texas on Friday night, local officials say. According to a press release from the Harris County Sheriff's Department, Michael Butler was traveling eastbound down a residential street in Katy in a Tesla Model 3. Butler said that he was using the car's Autopilot mode at the time of the crash. The sheriff's department said that Butler failed to drive in a single lane, left the roadway and crashed through the side of a house. Ring doorbell footage of the crash shows the vehicle crashing into the home at a high

More than a dozen travelers were banned from sailing with Carnival Cruise Line after fighting at the port in Miami. The altercation took place in the Customs and Border Protection debarkation area, according to the company. The June 22 fight occurred between two families and police responded, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) said. “The incident was deemed a mutual combatant incident,” MDSO told USA TODAY in an email. Police documented the fight, but the parties declined to press charges. “We are appreciative of law enforcement’s swift response and handling of the matter,” Carnival said in an emailed statement. “We do not tolerate such behavior, and 16 people have been placed

Since Islam’s arrival upon the world stage 1,400 years ago, when an illiterate Arab by the name of Mohammad, born in Mecca, claimed to be a messenger sent by God (whom he called “Allah”) to spread Allah’s word, approximately 270 million human beings have been slaughtered in Islam’s and Allah’s name, according to the Center for the Study of Political Islam. (Approximately 120 million Africans, 80 million Hindus, 60 million Christians, and 10 million Buddhists.) Until fairly recently, Westerners were unfamiliar with Islam or its practitioners. However, since Congress enacted America’s Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, our doors have been flung wide open to a Third World, non-Western population whose

The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool has been at the center of a political fight for weeks, with Democrats insisting damage to the site is the result of poor contractor work and conservatives pointing to deliberate sabotage. Now Jesse Watters says he has video from the Department of the Interior showing two individuals acting suspiciously at the pool. Watters walked viewers through the footage on Jesse Watters Primetime Tuesday night. His team hasn't independently verified the video, but what it appears to show is hard to dismiss. It would seem that Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17) has ambitions for higher office because he certainly has been going all in trying to get attention. Except that he doesn't seem to understand he's making all the wrong moves by embracing radical leftist things like redistributionist wealth tax grabs and the scandal-plagued Democrat candidate for Senate in Maine, Graham Platner. He might get some leftist support, but meanwhile, he's doing himself in with the center that would be vital in a general election. Khanna has not helped himself with all his posts about what could be done by grabbing more money from people like Elon Musk. As many pointed out,

James Talarico wants Texans to believe he's a man of faith, a true Christian believer that Texans of all stripes can feel comfortable supporting. Unearthed audio suggests otherwise, and it’s a campaign killer, believe me. Talarico, the Democrat nominee facing Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in November's Senate race, has spent months trying to sell Texans on his Christian faith. But his past words have muddied that message. Talarico has previously claimed "God is nonbinary," argued that the bible sanctioned abortion, and described surgically altering the bodies of gender-confused children as an expression of God's love.

The New York City Rent Guidelines Board approved Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s key campaign promise to “freeze the rent” on Thursday — in a move landlord advocates slammed as “an absolute farce.” The board passed a rent freeze on both one-year and two-year leases for the Big Apple’s roughly 1 million rent-stabilized units in a 7-1 vote. Arpit Gupta, an appointee of Mamdani’s predecessor Eric Adams, was the one no vote. It came hours after the public resignation of one of the RGB’s nine members, Christina Smyth, who accused the panel of ignoring its own data during the lengthy process to decide whether to adjust rents —

In an ad announcing the launch of Back the Bold PAC, he said, “Washington has failed to hold itself accountable to the American people.” “Trust me, I lived it,” Kinzinger says in the ad. “Too many politicians are afraid to tell the truth,

GOP activist Scott Pressler found himself barred from entry Thursday to a dinner at the South Dakota Republican State Convention, where Senate Majority Leader John Thune was the featured speaker. Pressler garnered national attention and praise for his work during the 2024 election. His efforts in Pennsylvania were widely acknowledged to have won that state for President Donald Trump, allowing him to secure victory. In recent months, Pressler has been increasingly critical of Thune for his failure to get the Senate to pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, which would require voter ID and other common-sense requirements for elections, promoting a greater degree of integrity and legitimacy.

Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was the target of an anonymous report that police determined was false and that he says forced him to spend a night away from his four-year-old twins. Buttigieg wrote in a Substack post that a Michigan State Police officer told him they found nothing to substantiate the anonymous allegation and believed it was politically motivated. He described the 24-hour ordeal as “among the darkest hours of my life.” In a statement, Michigan State Police said they received an “anonymous report” and that they and child protective services “responded and determined the report was false.”

During a recent interview with Spectrum News, he explained how the DSA is basically exploiting the Democrat Party’s infrastructure to get their people elected. It just confirms that these people are not even Democrats. They are an anti-Israel, Marxist contingent that is merely using the Democrat party instead of building a party of their own. Regular Democrats are so starved for wins, that they are allowing it to happen. Transcript via Townhall:

The UK's unpopular and outgoing Prime Minister Keir Starmer is leaving a parting gift for the British people by releasing thousands of violent convicts, including foreign-born criminals who are unlikely to be deported. Labour’s prison reform plan has triggered a political storm after the government introduced changes that could send thousands of offenders back into communities earlier than expected. Justice Secretary David Lammy will implement legal changes that will see criminals convicted of murder and sex crimes released later this year. The reforms will allow eligible prisoners to leave custody sooner under revised release rules as part of the Labour government's efforts to reduce prison overcrowding.

One way our nation's most "prestigious" newspapers show they're Democrat Party propaganda sheets is when their fashion critics apply all of their tawdry partisan biases to their evaluations of the clothes of politicians (or their spouses).Robin Givhan of The Washington Post was a transparent Democrat, and so is Vanessa Friedman of The New York Times. A white pantsuit worn by Hillary Clinton, as well as the feminist Democrats at the State of the Union, was very chic. But when Tulsi Gabbard wore one while she criticized Hillary at a Democrat debate in 2019, it suddenly carried "connotations of the fringe" and displayed "somewhat combative righteousness (also cult leaders)."
