Britain is in even worse shape than I thought. From the Telegraph: “Air conditioning torn from homes under net zero clampdown.”
Homeowners are being forced to tear out air conditioning from their private properties under climate laws, despite rising temperatures.
Council planning officers ordered residents to remove air-con units over fears they produce too much carbon dioxide, stating they should only be used as a “last resort”.
The net zero clampdown is part of building regulations that state “active cooling” should only ever be allowed when all other means of “passive cooling”, such as opening windows or using fans, have been exhausted.
So whether you can air condition your home

Try that here and see how it works.

Returned from a trip to find a 90° house (Florida) and a broken AC. Almost an unlivable situation. I'm sure the lawmakers in GB have their AC cranked low.

Suggest that here in Florida, and you will be shot at dawn!

What good is using AC only as a 'last resort' if you've already removed it? The language of lies and control.

Are the 'elites' in charge and making the rules, somehow exempted from those same rules? That's how rules/laws work here in America!

The best way to fight climate change are tax credits for central air and heating systems. By doing so, the climate inside is 72 degrees, regardless if the temperature outside is cold or hot.

If the democratic socialists manage to steal the midterms, we will be following this same path.

I once read an article that went something like this:
In the years before air conditioning, Congress took a yearly recess to avoid the swampy heat of Washington D.C.
Once air conditioning arrived, Congress was able to stay during the summer, thereby enabling legislative mischief year-round.

Things are back-asswards in the UK. The UK government is supposed to be working for the people, not the other way around. Sooner or later, the British people will finally stand up for themselves and stop this kind of nonsense from happening.

I have seen so many Youtube videos of Brits swooning over the bliss of A/C in the USA.
The idea of not being hostage to the weather.
But Great Britain is lost, anyway.

(are the overlords letting the illegals use AC?)

Fun fact:
Fans make a surface feel cooler. At the same time they add heat to the surrounding air. The motor gives off significant heat, the friction and compression of the air heats it, and the heat pulled off of surfaces is added to the air.
Put the fan in a window facing out. Hang towels with the bottoms in a pail of water in other windows, or in front of a fan facing toward you in a room with an open window. Swamp coolers are best in the driest climates.
Air conditioners take the heat out of a closed area and put it on the outside, along with the heat of the energy used to do that. Insulation is your friend with AC.

The British (brutish) overlords are just trying to make their illegal invaders feel more at home. As a bonus they are hoping to cut Co2 emissions by letting their British born serfs die from the heat. Win/win for the forces of darkness.

Just tell them "NO!". Who in the hell do they think they are? But, there are no "rights" in UK, no constitution. The government can order you to do anything, and you have no recourse.
And will the people just bow down and do nothing?

It was Soros or one of his colleagues (Maurice Strong?) who bemoaned the affluent American middle class as an impediment to their plans. Among our sins: we have too much autonomy, we eat too much meat and we have AIR CONDITIONED homes, workplaces and cars. These things will never do. To which I say... something I cannot put in writing here.

Random thoughts:
1) I lived in England for 6 years. Only needed A/C for about 10 days total in that time. Natural sunblock provided by plenty of clouds.
2) The late Washington State Gov Dixy Lee Ray predicted this in her 1993 book "Environmental Overkill: What Happened To Common Sense?". I recall reading it and thinking, 'This is insane. How could anyone want to get rid of air conditioning?'
3) The idea of swamp coolers is passable in dry places like New Mexico and Arizona. Anywhere else is a bad idea.

This would get you killed in Texas!
Anyone who enforces this nonsense should be forced to live in the hottest place on Earth--with no a/c . . . and, we'll throw in "with no running water, either" since that will probably be the next thing they'll want to ban.
