As we approach our country’s 250th anniversary, the Adams quote above remains an enduring summary of what the Founders envisioned for We the People. Yet the long march through our institutions has sought to produce a different kind of people, characterized by President Obama’s pledge to “fundamentally transform the United States of America.” As a professor at a small American college, I can attest to the fruits of this effort. "society in which the right to pursue happiness belongs to all citizens." The next generation doesn't seem to grasp what citizenship means or why it matters. That it means a commitment to each other and the future of the country, not just a privileged class of rights.

Dems Call For Court Packing After SCOTUS
Rules ‘Temporary’ Really Means Temporary

Democrats are once again calling for the Supreme Court to be “expanded” and “reformed” after the high court affirmed Thursday in a 6-3 decision that “temporary” means “temporary.” The Supreme Court upheld President Donald Trump’s efforts to revoke temporary protected status for foreigners in the country. The ruling came in Mullin v. Doe and Trump v. Miot. Trump tried to revoke TPS for roughly 350,000 Haitian nationals living in the country, but U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes issued a ruling in February blocking the president from doing so. Reyes justified her usurpation of executive authority by claiming George Washington would have supported TPS.

As we reported, the U.S. struck back after the Iranian regime violated the ceasefire, firing on a cargo ship exiting the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations, as well as coastal radar sites, after Iran hit the M/V Ever Lovely. The ship was carrying Qatari oil, and was headed to the port of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates. But apparently, Iran hasn't learned its lesson, because it then fired drones at Bahrain. Bahrain said it was the "sole responsibility of Tehran for undermining peace efforts." The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council condemned the attack, terming it "treacherous."

Two of the “Team Algae” demonstrators photographed in front of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool wearing pro-algae tee shirts earlier this month, were also involved in loud and disruptive pro-abortion demonstrations outside of Justice Brett Kavanaugh home in 2022. Pro-abort agitators terrorized the entire neighborhood for weeks after the Supreme Court’s draft majority opinion overturning of Roe v. Wade was leaked to the media. A neighbor told Fox News in June 2022 that the agitators would show up at approximately 7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays. “It’s a horrific experience,” the neighbor told Fox.

Labour has urged British farmers to stop raising cattle and grow lentils instead as part of a Net Zero push. GB News has more. The Government published its highly-anticipated ‘Farming Roadmap’ on Wednesday, outlining its long-term vision for Britain’s agriculture sector. The 71-page document outlined the Government’s intention to help British farmers wind down high-emission farming – including cattle – and move towards “growing oilseeds and pulses” for planet-based products. “Farmers will play a critical role in delivering this transition by adopting practices that reduce emissions while sustaining productive, commercially viable businesses,” the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) wrote.

President Trump on Saturday announced he nominated Lance Schroyer to be the next ICE Director. Lance Schroyer is a former Oklahoma State Trooper and US Marine. Schroyer will replace Acting ICE Director Dave Venturella. It has been 11 years since the Department of Homeland Security has had a Senate-confirmed ICE Director. Trump’s full statement Todd Lyons, the previous Acting ICE Director, submitted his resignation earlier this year to DHS Chief Markwayne Mullin.:

By statute, the approval process of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is to determine the safety and effectiveness of a new drug. If both requirements are met, the new drug is approved. The process usually takes roughly a decade. Most people would reasonably assume the lengthy approval process is due to the need to prove a new drug is safe for use by patients. But the years-long lag between a drug’s submission for approval and its arrival on the market often stems from the process of assessing its effectiveness. The easiest way to think about it is this: determining safety protects patients; determining effectiveness protects consumers.

Though a Virginia judge has granted an injunction blocking the state police from enforcing the gun and magazine ban that's set to take effect on July 1, a spokesperson for Virginia Attorney General Jay "Two Bullets" Jones says the injunction doesn't stop local prosecutors and police from enforcing the law. More than a dozen Commonwealth's Attorneys have publicly stated they have no plans to do so, and that was before a judge in Lancaster County granted a motion for an injunction in Crump v. Katz on Thursday afternoon. We're also still awaiting a decision from a judge in Washington County, Virginia, where the NRA and Virginia Shooting Sports Association,

The UK paid nearly £1,400 per megawatt hour – about 17 times the normal prices – on Wednesday evening to obtain emergency supplies from the Continent in a move set to add £11 million to bills. National Energy Systems Operator (Neso), which balances daily electricity supply and demand, paid the sky-high prices after a shortfall in energy generated from domestic solar and gas-fired power stations left the UK scrambling for supplies. The situation meant Neso was forced to obtain a special dispensation from its EU counterparts to buy the power. The EU has limited sales to the UK because of the effect on the Continent’s own electricity supplies.

Rental prices for the 46 million Americans who rent their homes are finally reversing, and there’s speculation President Donald Trump’s border security and deportation policies are a driving factor. With over three million illegal aliens either voluntarily leaving the country or deported since President Trump took office according to the Department of Homeland Security, rental homes are freeing up for U.S. citizens across major metro areas. According to the latest Apartment List National Rent Report released May 27, rental prices are down 1.5 percent nationally compared to one year ago. This is the lowest year over year rent increase since 2017.

Chinese tech giant Huawei has announced a massive breakthrough in its semiconductor capabilities. This should serve as a stark wake-up call. This fall, Huawei will be releasing new smartphone chips to compete against US tech firms using a new engineering technique known as “LogicFolding.” This innovation redesigns the bottom layer of semiconductors to shorten the distance data must travel between components,

There’s a particular dangerous breed of dishonest Democrat politician who speaks in moderate terms to get elected, only to govern as a radical. America is threatened not only by its openly radical elements, but by politicians who present themselves as reasonable moderates while advancing policies that steadily undermine the foundations of American capitalism and constitutional government. I want America to survive as the exceptional country I grew up in. That requires us to confront an uncomfortable reality. Every day, Americans are told that the greatest threats to our future come from foreign adversaries, economic competition, or political polarization.

Britain is in even worse shape than I thought. From the Telegraph: “Air conditioning torn from homes under net zero clampdown.” Homeowners are being forced to tear out air conditioning from their private properties under climate laws, despite rising temperatures. Council planning officers ordered residents to remove air-con units over fears they produce too much carbon dioxide, stating they should only be used as a “last resort”. The net zero clampdown is part of building regulations that state “active cooling” should only ever be allowed when all other means of “passive cooling”, such as opening windows or using fans, have been exhausted. So whether you can air condition your home

The New York City Rent Guidelines Board approved Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s key campaign promise to “freeze the rent” on Thursday — in a move landlord advocates slammed as “an absolute farce.” The board passed a rent freeze on both one-year and two-year leases for the Big Apple’s roughly 1 million rent-stabilized units in a 7-1 vote. Arpit Gupta, an appointee of Mamdani’s predecessor Eric Adams, was the one no vote. It came hours after the public resignation of one of the RGB’s nine members, Christina Smyth, who accused the panel of ignoring its own data during the lengthy process to decide whether to adjust rents —

The UK's unpopular and outgoing Prime Minister Keir Starmer is leaving a parting gift for the British people by releasing thousands of violent convicts, including foreign-born criminals who are unlikely to be deported. Labour’s prison reform plan has triggered a political storm after the government introduced changes that could send thousands of offenders back into communities earlier than expected. Justice Secretary David Lammy will implement legal changes that will see criminals convicted of murder and sex crimes released later this year. The reforms will allow eligible prisoners to leave custody sooner under revised release rules as part of the Labour government's efforts to reduce prison overcrowding.
