Los Angeles City Councilwoman Nithya Raman is roughly one percentage point away from leapfrogging Republican candidate Spencer Pratt in the L.A. mayoral race with 78% of votes counted. After slowly gaining on Pratt for several days, Raman, a Democrat, is still sitting in third with 26.21% of the vote, Saturday night’s latest election numbers show. Pratt, a reality TV star, is now clinging to second with 27.32% of the vote. (Snip) On Saturday morning, Pratt held 28.24% of the vote in the June primary, while Raman trailed by multiple points at 24.89%. She has since gained significant ground in the

Los Angeles City Councilmember Nithya Raman has overtaken former reality TV personality Spencer Pratt for the second spot in the Los Angeles mayoral runoff, according to updated vote totals released Sunday by the LA County Registrar-Recorder.
Raman, a progressive Democrat representing the city’s 4th Council District, now holds 27.12% of the counted ballots. Pratt, a registered Republican who ran on a law-and-order platform, sits at 26.69%. The gap stands at 3,113 votes.
Decision Desk HQ projected Sunday that Raman had secured the second of two spots in the nonpartisan primary, which advances the top two finishers to the November 3 general election regardless of party.

Former first lady Dr. Jill Biden gave an update on former President Joe Biden’s cancer on Saturday, saying that though the 83-year-old will live with cancer for the rest of his life, he maintains a busy schedule, but has slowed down.
Biden explained during a discussion with political commentator and “The View” co-host Ana Navarro for her new book “View From the East Wing: A Memoir,” that while her husband was still president and had a team of doctors, she mentioned that he was getting up seven times a night to go to the bathroom, and she assumed that someone would follow up on that.

A poll shows many Democrats would rather live in a different country and wave goodbye to the United States of America, the news coming as more in the party view socialism favorably.
The Elon University/YouGov America 250 National Survey that was performed between April 30 and May 4th asked respondents “Is there any other country on Earth you would rather live in than the United States today?” to which 55 percent of Democrats said yes.
Thirty-eight percent of Independents said yes while only 10 percent of Republicans gave the same answer:

President Trump delivered one of the moments of his presidency as his interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker neared its conclusion.
The “Meet the Press” host traveled to Wisconsin to interview Trump on a variety of topics, including the war with Iran, gas prices, and the “anti-weaponization” fund.
Toward the end, Trump absolutely went off on the corrupt state of American elections, especially in California. Welker tried desperately to interrupt. But Trump would not let go.

Election Day returns indicated that Spencer Pratt had easily secured the second position in the Los Angeles Mayor race, and would face incumbent Karen Bass in the general election. But ballots have continued to come in and be counted, and a remarkable number of those ballots have been for the initial third-place candidate, Nithya Raman. So it looks like the runoff election will be between two far-left candidates, and Los Angeles will continue to go downhill.
Conservatives generally assume that the fix was in, and Raman’s renaissance is due wholly or in part to voter fraud. Are they right? Today’s Unleash Prosperity Hotline (which you should subscribe to if you don’t)

Spencer Pratt’s once-comfortable lead in the Los Angeles mayoral primary has been slashed yet again — as a fresh batch of ballots delivered another major boost to progressive City Councilmember Nithya Raman in their race to the November runoff.
New results released Saturday show Pratt’s advantage over Raman shrinking to just 7,494 votes, down from more than 20,000 a day earlier. Roughly 78% of the ballots had been counted as of Saturday. Raman picked up 23,514 votes in the latest count, more than double Pratt’s gain of 10,336. Her share of the vote jumped from 24.9% to 26.2%, while Pratt slipped from 28.2% to 27.3%.

Half a century after Steven Spielberg challenged audiences to think about what lies beyond the starry canopy that defines our universe in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the director is again challenging accepted precepts of faith and singular belief in a supreme being.
His new film Disclosure Day sees him revisit the possibility of aliens: “I absolutely think that they have been here, and they are here,” he outlined in an interview with CBS News.
First he outlined the themes behind the $115 million creation and the answers it (possibly) posed to questions of life, faith and mortality.

Donald Trump slammed Barack Obama's new $850 million presidential library, with a photoshopped prediction that it would be surrounded by homeless camps within ten years.
A 'giant trash can' is just one of the unflattering comparisons the new center has been called ahead of its opening on the South Side of Chicago on June 19.
And Trump weighed in by posting a photo of the library with a garbage bag on top and homeless encampments surrounding it to Truth Social on Saturday.
Trump wrote over the AI-generated image: 'The Barack Hussein Obama Library, in 10 years, when fully matured!'

Last Thursday, even as California’s chaotic primaries demonstrated the need for a nationwide election integrity law, Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Susan Collins (R-Maine), and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) voted to kill the SAVE America Act. This would be understandable if the bill were unpopular with the electorate. But its requirement that voters in every state must provide proof of citizenship before registering to vote and produce a photo ID when casting a ballot are wildly popular among Republicans and Democrats. Yet, because its passage is one of President Trump’s top priorities, TDS forced them to ignore his agenda.

When the Supreme Court struck down President Trump's tariffs last February, the president lashed out against two Supreme Court Justices he nominated calling them fools and lapdogs. The president has frequently railed against judges when they rule against him. What often happens next is a barrage of violent threats from his followers against those judges. As we first reported in March, we spoke with 26 federal judges – nine Democratic appointees, 17 Republican, both sitting and retired. The sitting judges told us they feel under siege. Most would not appear on camera, fearful for their safety.
