Ferrari shares slump after it unveils
first fully electric car

Luxury sports car maker Ferrari has unveiled its first fully electric car - the $640,000 (£474,320) Luce. The new model departs from the look of typical Ferraris as the Italian brand's first ever five-seater, created in collaboration with the LoveFrom agency founded by former Apple design chief Sir Jony Ive. Responses on social media to the launch ranged from describing it as "straight to the junkyard trash" to an "absolute masterclass in design". On Tuesday, the firm's shares fell more than 8% on the Milan stock market and by over 5% in New York. Supercar rivals like Lamborghini and Porsche have scaled back on their EV plans due to poor demand

Comments:

That's not a Ferrari. A Ferrari has a gasoline engine that sings you a song. Prediction: This car will not sell. Who wants an electric Ferrari?

People have gone mad these days. What sense does it make to an almost million dollar car electric or gas? It might look good, but probably drives like crap. And it purrs. It's laughable.

The design isn't all that bad but over half a million bucks for an electric car? That sound you hear is il commendatore spinning in his grave. I raced at Sebring in 1968 in the 3 hour sedan race. When the 12 hour race ran through the night, we listened to the 12 cylinder Ferraris and their banshee wail. Quite an experience but this thing could tank Ferrari. They won't sell enough to recoup development costs. A few wealthy leftists might buy one to virtue signal and display their money but that won't be enough. Another thought is is insurance on those cars with the chance of battery fires. Surely they won't phase out their other models and maybe an older, gasoline powered Ferrari might make a good investment these days.

$650,000 for that ugly piece of crap? Ferrari, what are you thinking? Just stick to big turbo V-8s and V-12s. Nobody outside of California wants this. Remember, go woke, go broke. Enzo must be turning over in his grave.

Who wants an electric Ferari? The same fool who wants an electric Harley Davidson. I suppose Ferari spent a ton of money on this junk, and then when all of the other manufacturers pulled away from electric cars, they felt since they spent the money they would introduce it. Maybe they should have just bit the bullet and hid their mistake instead of showing their foolishness.

The Ferrari Luce is the heaviest Ferrari ever, at 4,982 pounds. Its 122 kWh battery, alone, weighs approximately 630 kg (1,389 lbs). That's a lot of lithium ion. The car's naught to sixty time of 2.5 seconds isn't anything special nowadays. The somewhat cheaper Porsche 911 Turbo S (701 bhp)can probably beat it. The fastest Tesla can break two seconds, and it's much cheaper than the Ferrari. The Luce's top speed of 190 isn't impressive in a group of cars that can exceed 200. Other than the badge (which is baloney bacause there's no gasoline engine) and virtue signaling around Beverly Hills or Dubai, what possible reason could there be to buy this car? Some observers have noted, properly, that the Luce resembles the Nissan Leaf, which is fifteen times cheaper. One other teeny little thing: If that almost 1,400 pound battery ever goes into thermal runaway, there's going to be a fire visible from space.

How ridiculous. One of the great things about Ferraris has always been the beautiful sound of a high performance V12 or sometimes a screaming V8. Electric vehicles can have outstanding acceleration, but are heavy, obnoxious vehicles. A friend is in his middle 80s and he replaced his Porsche 911 with an electric Porsche. He showed it to me, and said "Man will this thing accelerate!" It looked nice, but I'll stick to my older Cayman with it's good sounding flat six. Porsche tried to replace those engines with turbocharged flat fours....more horsepower they said, probably true. But they didn't sell......they kept sending me emails, and I finally responded to the salesman saying, "I'm not going to trade in my beautiful sounding Cayman six cylinder for a four cylinder with a turbo. Not, ever." He emailed back that he was hearing the same thing from many Porsche owners when contacted about 'upgrading' to the newer version of the Cayman with the turbo four.....people are not interested. I think there will be less interest in EVs, too. Just not what people want. EV racing is BORING, and Formula 1 has destroyed itself with the stupid mostly electric cars this year, combined with needing a special streaming service to see the races. So....this Formula 1 fan (and my wife) who has flown to Europe to see multiple F1 races since the 70s, including paying over $1,000 for a couple of seats to see the Monaco F1 race five years ago, is no longer watching F1. Boring, crap cars, crap racing with electrical power overrunning the little gas motors that are part of the 'hybrid' designs, and expensive, ridiculous TV access. Performance cars need to have powerful GASOLINE motors, good sounds, fun to drive, or fun to watch being driven. Several F1 drivers have considered leaving F1 to go and race in some REAL racing formula elsewhere. They seem to only stay for the $25 million a year salaries. How long will that last with no audiences caring who wins or even if a race is run? Ferrari has made a bad move. Hope they recover, but ALL the Euroweenies are so deeply committed to this whole climate scam that they can't seem to pull out of their suicide dive.

That was a bad marketing decision. Ferrari's should be beautiful and sound like a car. Electric cars are good for delivery vehicles in the city.

What should a Ferrari sound like? Here's the (priceless) 1967 Ferrari 330 P4 with its V12 engine that makes real music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awArTC8iQ3Q Now that is a Ferrari! Watching and hearing this car almost makes me cry for joy.

E. Jean Carroll’s rape allegations against President Donald Trump were never credible, and now she’s under investigation by the Department of Justice for perjury. Now, Byron York is digging into the case and has uncovered what could be the most elaborate political setup in history. Trust me, the picture coming into focus is damning. Carroll has claimed, without any evidence, that Trump raped her sometime in 1995 or 1996. She can't remember which year. Nothing about her allegations makes any sense. Are we supposed to believe that she simply stayed quiet about it through Trump's rise to fame and politics, through his 2016 presidential run, and through the wave of

In yet another example of the Golden State’s endless grift, it turns out the state is paying for free solar panels, refrigerators, and more for folks who are not in this country legally. Why? To stop climate change, they argue. Or maybe it’s just to line the pockets of the legion of non-governmental organizations and interest groups who stand to profit from the scheme?

The one good thing that may have come from a horrific crash on a Florida highway last August was the fact that it shed plenty of light on the fact that semi truck drivers who are in the country illegally and are not qualified to operate the multi-ton vehicles are a much bigger problem than one crash. Corey makes three charges against them: they are uncivil, they divide the world into friends and enemies after the manner of Carl Schmitt, and they would rather crush their opponents than convert them, preferring to defile the seminar room than save it. They are, in short, mean and essentially unfit for leadership. Corey is a serious person, and the charges she brings are serious. The court owes her a fair hearing.

For many years the Soviet Union, and then Russia, financed the environmental movement in the United States. Their purpose was to suppress American production of oil and gas, and they succeeded to a considerable degree, to their own great benefit. Today, we are in the midst of another kind of race with Communist China–the race to develop superior systems of artificial intelligence. The Chinese Communist Party knows that if it wins this race, it will contribute greatly to its dreams of world domination, while if it loses, China, with its rapidly shrinking population, could be on the way to the garbage dump of history. So the stakes are enormous.

The June 2024 presidential debate between then-President Joe Biden (D) and then-GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump was inarguably one of the most consequential events in American political history, largely because it proved to the American people beyond a shadow of a doubt that the occupant of the Oval Office was unwell. It was a reckoning of sorts for the Democrat Party, the Biden-Harris administration, and the mainstream media, all of whom played starring roles in the deliberate years-long cover-up of Biden's decline,

Given the relative difference between how the two would have voted over the next six years, the gain from nominating Paxton probably doesn't justify the assumed risk of dethroning the incumbent Cornyn. It might take more money to fight for the seat in the general election, but that assumes that Democrats would have left Texas alone had Cornyn eked out a win over Paxton.
