The reason JD Vance left earlier through a different door from Trump's is that he was alone.
It happened again: a deranged leftist, Cole Allen, fueled by hate, came too close to assassinating President Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner on Saturday night.
Allen, who lives in Torrance, California, is a 31-year-old teacher and video game developer. He charged at the security checkpoint, right outside the ballroom. Before being tackled, Allen fired shots, hitting one Secret Service agent, who will make a full recovery because he was wearing a bulletproof vest.
Ironically, the dinner was held at the Washington Hilton, where President Ronald Reagan was seriously wounded by John Hinckley, Jr. on March 30, 1981.

The gunman who opened fire at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C., on Saturday night has been identified as Cole Allen of Torrance, Calif.
The 31-year-old, who federal law enforcement source confirmed is a teacher, was in custody after gunfire broke out near the event’s main security screening area just after 8:30 p.m.
Allen appeared to assemble a “long” weapon in a lightly monitored area near the terrace-level entrance before opening fire and rushing toward the ballroom.

It is now being reported that the Secret Service has killed the shooter. It's not clear whether the assailant ever got a shot off.
President Trump was evacuated from the White House Correspondents' Dinner after gunfire erupted.
Eyewitnesses told The Post at least four shots went off inside the Washington Hilton.
Trump, along with the rest of his cabinet, were evacuated room he ballroom shortly after arriving to the annual event, hosted by the White House Correspondents' Association.
The Secret Service has since locked down the hotel as scores of reporters remain inside.

Accused White House Correspondents’ Dinner gunman Cole Allen sent a sprawling, crazed manifesto to family members 10 minutes before Saturday’s attack, sources told The Post.
In the 1,052-word missive obtained by The Post Sunday morning — signed Cole ‘coldForce’ ‘Friendly Federal Assassin’ Allen” — and outlined his “rules of engagement” for the shooting and stated he believed it was his righteous duty to target administration officials.
