I spent 20 years visiting Ireland in the 80's and 90's ... they are a very friendly and smart people...BUT... they suffer ( mistakenly) from massive White Guilt ...and most are really socialists at heart. ....hence their current sad state of affairs.

We traveled to Ireland last August to celebrate our 50th. Everyone seemed most pleasant and relaxed. But prices were already quite high for most goods. But we did sense an unease in the urban areas when in public places. Particularly in Dublin. More so in Northern Ireland.

"sanctioned Iranian cargo ships Behnavazz and Betha had picked up loads of sodium perchlorate in China and were heading home" Clearly these ships full of war materials should NOT be allowed to deliver their cargo to Iran. In fact, all ships bound for Iran should be intercepted and inspected for war materials and turned around if they are found. In fact, perhaps a blockade on all ships bound to Iran for the time being.

This inaptly-titled piece is about much more than the Irish protests. Clarice presents an outstanding analysis of the immediate state of the war and Iran's weakening negotiating posture as the cease-fire talks collapse. The X post by David Wurmser, (Middle East expert at the American Enterprise Institute) is crucial, though annoyingly littered with typo's because it was obviously not written but dictated without proofreading. While the democrats are endlessly carping to the leftist media about how Trump entered this phase of the war "without a plan," Trump is demonstrating that he has a plan and has deprived the Iranians of their ace card by now clearing any mines from the Strait of Hormuz and looking the other way while Israel forces the collapse of Hezbollah, Iran's last terrorist ally in the Middle East. The Persian regime has finally met their negotiating equal, and they're sinking.

Breaking news: The United States has begun a naval blockade of Iran. So much for Iran's plans to rearmor sell their oil for top dollar during the cease fire.

FTA: 'Almost simultaneously with the passage of our ships, we learned that sanctioned Iranian cargo ships Behnavazz and Betha had picked up loads of sodium perchlorate in China and were heading home ....' I don't know if a couple of torpedoes slid into them amidships would detonate the cargo; but it would certainly sink those vessels. That would give them some strong reservations about ordering any more high explosive precursors.

Maybe the Fighting Irish will spark a worldwide revolt against totalitarian socialism. I believe they played a significant hand in the US Revolution as well as the civil War. Godspeed.

Anti-liberty/gun cracktivists find themselves stuck on recycling old, failed narratives because there is really nothing new in the distortions and lies they tell in trying to obliterate the Second Amendment. Among those failed narratives is microstamping, a nonsensical measure about which I last wrote in Microstamping And Zombies, 2024 in June of 2024 at my home blog, Microstamping is laser engraving a unique, identifying code on the tips of firing pins which will “stamp” that code—letters, numbers, etc—on the primers of fired cases. Some microstamping schemes also demand a second stamp elsewhere on a fired case.

Among the many genius effects of Trump is that his crazy-man approach to dealing with our enemies only makes our enemies more insane and intransigent than before. I refer, of course, to the Democratic Party (and the mainstream media, but I repeat myself). It is a remarkable thing that Iran appears (at this writing—this could change before these pixels are dry) to be more reasonable than Democrats when it comes to Trump. I hope he keeps his laser-pointer fully-charged and holstered.

Michael J. Fox is alive and well. The "Back to the Future" star, 64, took to Threads on April 8 to laugh off a mistaken report of his demise. Earlier, fans were concerned the star had died after CNN published a tribute video titled "Remembering the life of actor Michael J. Fox." In a Threads post, Fox assured fans he is doing OK. "How do you react when you turn on the TV and CNN is reporting your death?" he wrote. The State of Minnesota requires schools to allow boys to compete in girls’ sports. It also requires schools to allow teenage boys to shower with the girls, and otherwise avail themselves of girls’ locker rooms. This is not, to put it mildly, a popular policy, especially with the parents of teenage girls. But Minnesota’s DFL party defends it doggedly. It gets worse: the federal government has sued Minnesota, alleging that the state’s anti-girl policies violate Title IX of the 1972 Education Amendments. That lawsuit potentially could cost Minnesota up to $3 billion in federal education funding. But none of that matters to Minnesota’s Democrats. Republicans in the Minnesota House introduced legislation

The country has been on pins and needles in recent weeks, as the Supreme Court weighs a decision about birthright citizenship, which is a question that has persisted throughout every living American’s life, though it seems to me that it never should have been. First, let’s consider the framers’ intent. The Fourteenth Amendment is clearly directed toward ensuring that slaves born in America, whose forebears were of African origin, would be considered American citizens after the Civil War. We know this to be a fact because many American Indians were also born on American soil, though they were not considered American citizens when the Fourteenth Amendment was ratified.

There’s nothing really new in the uproar surrounding the loss of a USAF F-15E Strike Eagle over Iran this past weekend. Media hysteria over the downing of a single U.S. aircraft has become a commonplace schtick in coverage of American wars over the past three decades. During WW II, the U.S. lost over 23,000 planes in combat. I kid you not, playmates: 23,000+ – and that’s only combat losses. Overall losses, including accidents, amounted to 65,164. The media talking heads would have had to be carried out in straitjackets if they’d been active at the time. Losses dropped sharply following WW II. In Korea, the USAF lost 147 shot down

In the latest episode of Woke Progressives Gone Wild, former women's soccer player Megan Rapinoe is back to her usual shenanigans, denying biology in favor of having dudes play in women's sports. Axelrod, really? What kind of message does that send? The pope has declined an offer to visit the U.S. for its 250th anniversary in favor of a trip to visit the illegal migrants on Lampedusa (which might bring him an unexpected round of protests from angry locals sick of being robbed and raped by them) on the grounds that he doesn't want any trip to be political.

Tehran warned Pakistani mediators that “if the vessel continues to move, it will be targeted within 30 minutes, and the Iranian-American negotiations will suffer,” a Foreign Ministry spokesperson told Khabar Network, according to Fars News Agency. The warning comes just after reports broke that “multiple” US vessels had crossed the strait for the first time in months in a move that “was not coordinated with Iran.”

The answer is no — and the data are not subtle. This is not merely a conservative grievance. It is a portfolio performance review. And the returns are dismal.
