CBS bashed for botching Rory McIlroy’s

CBS committed a crucial triple-bogey-like error. There is nothing like watching Rory McIlroy win a back-to-back Masters for golf fans — that is, if you can actually see the winning shots. The broadcast failed to show McIlroy’s final four shots of the tournament as he claimed the first repeat green jacket since Tiger Woods in 2002. And CBS went on to hear it from golf fans. “CBS not being able to show the location of the final two approach shots of the masters is the cherry on top of an all-time horrible broadcast,” an X user posted. “Very on brand for golf broadcasting that the cameraman lined up

CBS bragged that their 70 year association with the Masters was the longest ever. So? There's no way on planet earth the Tiffany Network would allow this jewel, the highest rated golfing event of all, to escape to NBC or ABC. But if it's so important to them, television coverage must not miss any of the leaders, especially on the back nine Sunday. I was astonished that we barely saw the champion finish. If he had missed that last putt, there would have been a playoff. Too many side stories. Let's concentrate on the tournament, not the spectators. I watched both the television broadcast and the Masters.com coverage of various holes and various groups. During this year's commercial breaks we were inundated with repeated reruns of junior golfers hitting fantasy versions of, say, Bubba Watson's playoff duck hook sand wedge from the woods right of #10 fairway, replete with some of the real narration. Or of Nicklaus's putt on #17 in 1986 ("Yes, sir!") ... that was ruined, too. All of us dedicated junior golfers had dreams which were sometimes acted out on the course. That's normal. But I was irritated and distracted by the extraneous bovine scatology which shouldn't have run over and over. In years past, Masters' three or four sponsors kept their commercials down to four minutes per hour. Fifty-six minutes of action each hour. That's long gone now. Greedy, greedy CBS. The Masters is the greatest golf tournament in the world, always worth watching, the greatest of the four major championships because it's always played on that dramatic stage created by Bobby Jones. Augusta National Golf Club never disappoints. It's my favorite place to have ever played, or visited as a spectator. There's nothing else like it.

I just turned it off before they anointed Mcllroy. I didn't even watch the last four holes. The constant cheering section for Rory for four days from the broadcasters was just over the top. It just became almost unwatchable after listening to it for four days. Add in the almost unplayable greens which are an Augusta golf club tradition and watching six-foot putts roll past the hole by six feet and balls rolling off the green when the player hits it on and I just switched to baseball. Even the number one player in the world decided it was safer to have a 35-foot putt for birdie rather than trying to get it closer to the pin.

Is Rory turning into Tiger with the head games? Early on, Cam Young, who mostly drove great, left one right. Rory moves in behind and conspicuously signals the shot is right. Did he yell "fore" first, I don't know, but it's like he's tweaking Young for all to see. Yound had a twenty footer (?) on twelve, he's behind the ball eyeing the line. McIlroy walks between him and the hole, on Cam's line and Rory is like oops. What? WHAT?! Just smart golf, huh, ***nudge nudge wink win***

To see Augusta in bloom is on my bucket list. For this year, I so wanted Justin Rose to win. And the Irish pub shots were tiring.

Good morning and welcome to Sunday, April 12, 2026. (Snip) I’ve been watching this business with Eric Swalwell, who used to be the odds-on favorite to win the California governor’s seat. As with Bill Cosby before him, I wondered why the sudden shift of loyalties, what caused the bright orange circle on his back. I know that other of our great team of writers here at PJ Media have spoken up on this, but I felt given my Cosby comments last year, I should add my voice. One such incident is a one-off. More than that is a pattern, and in this case, an important one.

I have said it many times over the years: DEI, like affirmative action before it, is not just immoral. It is illegal, at least in employment and education. But for many years, the law went unenforced. That changed with the Supreme Court’s decision in the Harvard and North Carolina cases, the most important decision of recent years. The Court held that the Constitution and the Civil Rights Act mean what they say: race and sex discrimination are illegal. That decision empowered the Trump administration to take action against the discriminatory policies that have been rampant in both the corporate world and academia. Thus, the Department of Justice has just

Iran doesn't have a lot of cards to play in the fight with the United States. One of the few is that they seem to have folks on the left attacking everything President Donald Trump says or does in regard to Operation Epic Fury. That may give them thoughts. If they just hang in there, the Democrats' attacks on Trump may force him to pull back. However, in another way, the Democratic reactions may have helped Trump and convinced the Iranians that Trump was going to drop "hell" on them as he promised. He had already been pounding them as it was. But you had people like former

California Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-14) has just seen one of the most stunning political implosions you will ever see. Just days ago, he was the frontrunner in the California gubernatorial race, but on Friday, the San Francisco Chronicle reported on extremely serious sexual allegations against the congressman, and since then, his world has imploded. Almost every person or organization who endorsed him has rescinded their support, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has opened an investigation, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (FL-13) has indicated she’s going to file a motion to expel him from Congress, and the pugnacious Rep. finally gave into the overwhelming outcry Sunday and dropped his bid

Anti-liberty/gun cracktivists find themselves stuck on recycling old, failed narratives because there is really nothing new in the distortions and lies they tell in trying to obliterate the Second Amendment. Among those failed narratives is microstamping, a nonsensical measure about which I last wrote in Microstamping And Zombies, 2024 in June of 2024 at my home blog, Microstamping is laser engraving a unique, identifying code on the tips of firing pins which will “stamp” that code—letters, numbers, etc—on the primers of fired cases. Some microstamping schemes also demand a second stamp elsewhere on a fired case.

A s the administration's trap is closing on the Iranian government (at least the fourth level of it, which is all that has not been eliminated by the IAF and U.S. forces) Irishmen are blockading major roads and streets in Ireland. Only the Guinness tankers are being let through. Ostensibly the dispute is over the rising cost of fuel which will bankrupt farmers and truckers. If, however, you’ve been paying attention, the rebellion goes deeper -- the high taxes, third-world immigration, and the highhandedness of the government. Under the guise of the idiotic net zero policies, the Irish government has been using the tax revenues which will destroy agriculture

Among the many genius effects of Trump is that his crazy-man approach to dealing with our enemies only makes our enemies more insane and intransigent than before. I refer, of course, to the Democratic Party (and the mainstream media, but I repeat myself). It is a remarkable thing that Iran appears (at this writing—this could change before these pixels are dry) to be more reasonable than Democrats when it comes to Trump. I hope he keeps his laser-pointer fully-charged and holstered.

The State of Minnesota requires schools to allow boys to compete in girls’ sports. It also requires schools to allow teenage boys to shower with the girls, and otherwise avail themselves of girls’ locker rooms. This is not, to put it mildly, a popular policy, especially with the parents of teenage girls. But Minnesota’s DFL party defends it doggedly. It gets worse: the federal government has sued Minnesota, alleging that the state’s anti-girl policies violate Title IX of the 1972 Education Amendments. That lawsuit potentially could cost Minnesota up to $3 billion in federal education funding. But none of that matters to Minnesota’s Democrats. Republicans in the Minnesota House introduced legislation
