Here are the ABCs of a reasonable Iran

What must Iran agree to in any cease-fire deal? The headline concessions are obvious: Hand over all nuclear material, destroy all nuke capabilities, open the Strait of Hormuz and stop killing your own people. (We’d add “destroy all missile capabilities,” but the US and Israeli strikes have already done most of that.) Tehran would also need to commit to cooperate in serious verification and monitoring of its compliance, with the details to be worked out within a set number of weeks en route to a full peace agreement — but definitely to include “anywhere, anytime” inspections. The price for peace should also include Tehran’s commitment to internal reforms:

Multiple U.S. military bases must be placed in Iran. True Democratic elections with a new constitution. Such past regimes leaders must not be allowed in power. A totally new government structure must be put in place. Limited to no military. US will supply protection like past WWII Japan. Bomb anybody that blocks the straits at anytime. Eliminate any threat to shipping at anytime.

You can get all sorts of agreements on paper. They will be worth exactly the same as Chamberlain’s “Peace in our time” scrap. One change of government in DC and the will to enforce will evaporate. What is needed is a Constitutional Monarchy under a new Shah and a popularly elected government in power.

Separation of Church and State should be part of the deal. No more Mullah's shoving Islam death on the people who live there.

Nuclear weapons materials and research surrendered and REMOVED. Identify researchers and detain them for a significant time, out of country. Those who may have been coerced could be expatriated but required to stay out of Iran for a significant number of years. Returning equals capture and significant imprisonment. If we have an idea of where most missiles/drone are, we should NOT stop until they are all gone. We should require that any caches discovered post ceasefire be IMMEDIATELY destroyed, by Iran or by us. Any missile or drone attacks justify ANY retaliation deemed necessary. Surrender of all remaining leadership associated with terrorism activities, to be detained and tried in an international court; not to be released until acquitted. Cessation of any attacks on opposition political groups. Any IRGC attacks on these groups justifies action against that IRGC group, including elimination. Lockdown on ALL Iranian oil shipments, via ship or pipeline. Attacks on non Iranian oil will be compensated by seizure of a similar amount of Iranian oil. Iran, or its agents (Houthis) attack a tanker full of oil, Iran forfeits a tanker full of oil. Escalated attacks from Iran forfeits the Iranian ship or pipeline, including by destruction. Plus, any other military retaliation deemed necessary (bombing Houthis, ...) to stop current and prevent future attacks. Key to all this is RAPID response to any Iranian aggression. No dithering. Aggression = Effective US military response. Period.

The unstated goal is regime change, which if not done would leave the old problem in place and put egg on Trump's face in the view of the Iranian people.

I would like to add to the ABCs: "Failure to consent to unconditional surrender or non-compliance with any terms and conditions of said agreement will result in future Epic Fury operations as needed."

History shows that most times so-called “cease fires” don’t work and that the ultimate solution is an unconditional surrender. For examples the cease fire that stopped the World War I fighting gave Germany the room to rearm and start World War II twenty-one years later, while the unconditional surrenders forced on Germany and Japan that stopped the World War II fighting turned those former enemy countries into USA allies. Iran has been run by mad Mullahs, who are entrenched in Islamic ideology, for over forty-seven years. Clearly those Mullahs are not going to legitimately stop fighting against Israel and the USA until they are dead. In fact the Islamic law that they follow calls upon Christians and Jews to either convert to Islam or face death. Any cease fire with those Mullahs and their followers will no doubt just give them time to rearm, just wait the three years until Trump passes into history and then again start operating aggressively again towards Israel, the USA and any other Middle East State that opposes what the Mullahs are doing.

Italy to Keep Coal Power Stations Open
for Another Decade

Italy has delayed its plan to close its coal-fired power stations by more than a decade as the Iran war drives up oil and gas prices and countries around the world turn back to coal. The Telegraph has the story. In a significant reversal, the country will now continue to burn coal in at least one, and possibly up to three, power generation plants until 2038. Italy’s move comes as countries around the world, including Japan, South Korea and Germany, are turning back to coal to alleviate the spiralling energy crisis. Italy had planned to be one of the first countries in mainland Europe to phase out coal,

In the span of nine months, nine top-level scientists in the United States have died or vanished without a trace. Seven of them were connected to the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) or the institutions it directly funds. AFRL develops and transitions the most sensitive aerospace technologies in the United States’ defense arsenal. 1) Monica Jacinto Reza vanished June 22, 2025 while hiking with friends in the Angeles National Forest in California. She was last seen waving to a hiking companion approximately 30 feet behind the group. Despite an extensive search involving helicopters, drones, and canine units, only a beanie and lip balm were recovered, and her body was never found.

President Trump shared jaw-dropping video footage Monday of a massive explosion in Iran reportedly caused by a US airstrike on a large ammunition depot in Isfahan. A “high volume” of 2,000-pound bunker buster bombs was used in the strike posted by Trump on Truth Social, a US official told the Wall Street Journal. The footage that caught the president’s eye is one of several videos of fiery blasts that have taken place in Isfahan, the country’s third-most populous city and the location of the majority of Tehran’s 60% enriched uranium as well as a sprawling “missile city”.

The Sham of 'Disarming' Hamas 7 replies

Hamas, like Iran, continues to treat the idea of disarmament with a mix of dismissal and rhetorical defiance, effectively signaling that it has no intention of giving up its weapons or altering its dream of eliminating Israel. For Hamas, disarmament is not a serious proposal. Instead, it is a tool for political theater, a way to manipulate donors and tighten its grip over the Gaza Strip. In Hamas's view, the establishment of Israel on any of this land is an illegal "Zionist project" and a form of colonial occupation. When Hamas talks about "resistance" (Arabic: muqawama), it is referring to a comprehensive framework aimed at destroying Israel through a violent jihad (holy war),

The news sent California Gov. Gavin Newsom, activist Jane Fonda, and their ilk into a frenzy. In mid-March, Donald Trump signed an executive order invoking the Defense Production Act, a 1950 Cold War-era law, to force the restart of a dormant offshore oil operation along the California coast. Of course, the Golden State immediately sued — how dare we produce our own energy! That litigation is ongoing, but in the meantime, the oil is officially pumping, and it’s coming out fast: Once again, this proves that our reliance on foreign oil is a problem largely of our own making — or at least, the Democrats’ making —

He has pledged to make the grid 95% gas-free by 2030 – but 15% of UK power comes from neighbours like Belgium, the Netherlands and France, which have coal and gas-fired power stations. The Realistic Path To Congressional Term Limits 7 replies
Posted by FlyRight 3/30/2026 4:38:38 PM Post Reply
The founders feared concentrating power in a monarch. What they did not foresee was a permanent political class. The modern danger is different: power that never leaves office at all. Americans have reason to be skeptical that Congress will ever agree to term limits, but it might be within reach. The Constitution already provides the remedy. The path to congressional term limits exists within the document itself. When the Constitution was written, public office was not imagined as a lifelong career. Service in government was expected to be temporary—an interruption of private life rather than a permanent replacement for it. In the early republic, the federal government was remarkably small.

It’s becoming increasingly obvious that, despite a 53-47 Republican majority, the U.S. Senate is a graveyard for President Trump’s agenda. This is largely the fault of Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.), who has never been a strong supporter of the President. Despite this, most Republicans hoped that Thune would work to advance Trump’s priorities, particularly after his decisive 2024 victory provided the momentum for the GOP to retake the Senate. But Thune’s refusal to get the SAVE America Act passed and his surrender to the Democrats on DHS funding — without additional money for ICE or CPB — dashed any hope.
