Are Republicans trying to lose the midterms?

Original Article

Are congressional Republicans absolutely determined to forfeit this November’s midterm elections? It sure looks that way. The GOP would hardly be acting any differently if it were secretly run by its enemies. The election-security provisions of the SAVE Act enjoy overwhelming popular support. According to CBS/YouGov polling, requiring photo ID to vote is literally an 80-20 issue, commanding the support of four out of five voters. Yet the Republican Senate, with a 53-47 majority, is struggling to pass the law. Yes, the filibuster gives Chuck Schumer a powerful weapon to use against the GOP, but there are ways around that – ways the GOP chooses not to take.

The GOP has preferred to be the minority party for decades. They don't want the power. Being in the minority allows all the sociopathic RINOs to huff and puff conservative policies at home while campaigning and then secretly support Democrat big-government policies in Washington with the excuse that the Democrats outnumber them. We see this clearly with the Thune debacle taking place before our eyes.

It seems that both sides are tying to lose. Maybe we should do a clean sweep and start over with people who want to do their jobs.

No. I actually think the dims are working harder than the pubbies to lose the midterms. Everything the dims have done lately results in a major screwup. As examples, the partial government shutdown and preventing the Save America Act from being passed. What is going very right are the growing accomplishments by President Trump. Add the expected surrender by Iran as the latest one.

Under the UniParty rules, it's the narrative that has to be protected at all costs; party labels are irrelevant

The dims are trying to lose nothing. They know if they can continue to cheat in elections they can say or do anything they want. The "Republicans", on the other hand, include way too many Rinos, i.e.,...Dems in Repub clothing. The more we see from the Republican Party, the more we know the number of Rinos is higher than we thought. They too have little to worry about since it turns out they're bigger liars than the Democrats, and we have too many gullible people continuing to vote for them.

A federal judge on Friday ruled that the Pentagon’s new press policy restricting press credential of reporters is unconstitutional. In October, Pentagon reporters turned in their badges after they refused to sign Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s new security rule. “Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth demanded that reporters agree by 5 p.m. Tuesday to a new policy, under which they would need to pledge to not obtain or use any unauthorized material, even if the information is unclassified — or hand over their press badges in the next 24 hours,”[snip]By that afternoon, Pentagon reporters turned in their badges.

The joint American-Israeli military operation against the Iranian regime is now three weeks old, but there is another war — a more silent one — raging here on the home front. President Donald Trump's second administration is facing a highly coordinated shadow war — one waged both by some influential outside voices on the Right and, more dangerously, by their subversive allies within Trump's very own government. If this campaign is not confronted and decisively defeated, the result will be calamitous: a second Trump term that drifts into lame-duck status not due to a voter backlash but because of an insurrection from within.

As the Islamic Republic regime of Iran faces daily strikes and military pressure from the US and Israel, and with its leadership decimated, many are looking to the day the regime falls.

President Donald Trump’s tariffs on imported goods suffered a Supreme Court legal rebuke in late February, but they’re not doing much better in the court of public opinion. As the latest I&I/TIPP shows, a plurality of voters don’t believe the economy will get a boost from tariffs, which win strong majority support only from Republicans. It was once the case that most conservatives and many moderates rejected tariffs on imported goods as an unwanted distortion of free trade. Meanwhile, liberals embraced tariffs as a welcome tool of government “industrial policy.” But President Trump has flipped the script.

Orange man is sooooo bad that Foreign Policy Magazine's columnist and (of course) Columbia University Professor Howard French argues that America should lose the war to Iran. No, I am not kidding. It's not that French is arguing that Iran is the good guy. He concedes that they are not. It's just that America under Trump is so, so horribly bad that his winning the war is unthinkable. Better that a regime that murders its citizens by the gross, rapes and mutilates young women for not wearing a hijab, and that executes people for being gay survive than have Donald Trump be the author of its demise.
