California’s unfinished wildlife ‘bridge

In 2022, California Gov. Gavin Newsom broke ground on the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing (WAWC), a project featuring an overpass for animals atop ten lanes of the 101 Freeway in Southern California. At the ceremony, Newsom boasted that the state had committed $54 million. He promised to “complete the job within another $10 million,” before seeming to hedge on whether that final sum would do the trick. Officials projected a 2025 completion date for the overpass, and estimated that the entire project — which includes the bridge and other ancillary developments — would cost $92 million, some of it coming from private philanthropists.

I've seen several of these in western Wyoming. But, I'm sure they didn't cost anything close to that. Newscum could break a cannon ball bare handed.

As bad as the Colorado state government is, they built their wildlife bridge over 6 lanes of I-25 for $15 million, and on schedule. https://www.codot.gov/projects/archives/i25greenlandwildlifeoverpass

Gavin Newscum just loves his bridges to nowhere. There are several examples along the supposed route of the long-promised "high-speed rail". I have family in the Agoura Hills area. What a mess they must be living with. It looks like a friggin' park for people. Will the animals even notice or care?

Wyoming wildlife overpasses (the most expensive kind) can cost "up to $4 million". California is stealing the money. Has to be.

The contractor hired by the state wanted to attend the groundbreaking, but he was vacationing in his new luxury home in the CA mountains. In a related story, Gov Newsom's presidential campaign received a very large donation from the construction unions. SSDD.

Useful idiots in California want to bend the knee to Islam, removing all doubt that this state can be saved. KTXL reported on Sunday that Democratic State Assemblyman Matt Haney has introduced a bill that would officially recognize two Muslim holidays — Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha — as state holidays. Eid al-Fitr, as the BBC noted, means “festival of the breaking of the fast,” marking the end of Ramadan. Muslim community leaders commended the bill as a “historic step” in efforts to combat Islamophobia, per KTXL.

Arkansas GOP Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Thursday that she was asked to leave a restaurant in Little Rock last week because her presence made employees and customers feel "threatened." Sanders previously served as White House press secretary during President Donald Trump's first term and has since been a supporter of the president's immigration policies. The governor said she was dining with two other moms at the restaurant, which has been identified as The Croissanterie, when the owner allegedly told members of her security detail that Sanders must leave because her "presence made their employees feel threatened." The Democrats oppose voter ID laws and are in favor of mail-in voting, while calling Republicans fascists for not agreeing with them. However, a review of voting laws around the world shows that the overwhelming majority of countries, at least 176 nations and jurisdictions, require voter ID. Many have no mail-in voting at all, while others allow only very limited domestic mail-in voting restricted to those who are hospitalized, and no country allows illegal aliens to vote. While a small number of countries permit long-term legal residents to vote in local elections under strict residency conditions, even fewer allow non-citizen residents to vote in national elections.

In 2017, the Pennsylvania Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) conned its way into the Philadelphia school system in the name of “student safety and inclusion.” CAIR then went into action and orchestrated a series of lesson plans, training sessions and workshops for students and educators that advocated the elimination of certain terms like “jihadists,” “Islamic terrorists,” or even “radical Islamic terrorists” when it came to teaching about September 11, 2001. The plan was brilliant, and the Philadelphia School District bought it lock, stock, and barrel. The teaching mantra was this: A Muslim attack in the name of Allah was not to be named Muslim or Islamic.

The fix was for the legislature to set up a fraud and abuse task force. Renewed reporting from independent journalist Nick Shirley shows that the fraud is "frauding" at unprecedented levels. I have my gripes with blue-ribbon commissions and special task forces in the effort to look busy, but according to my MetaCrawler AI source, Perplexity, no commission was ever established to investigate and stop the fraud. A program to provide health care for pregnant illegal immigrants in Colorado is costing the state over seven times its budget projections since it was enacted, the Colorado Sun reported. The Covering All Coloradans program, which was enacted in 2022, gave health care benefits to illegal immigrants who would otherwise have qualified for Medicaid, according to the Sun. The program was expected to cost the state $14.7 million dollars but its cost has instead ballooned to over $104 million. The program’s launch was secured in 2025 when money was appropriated by the state legislature. The state is now facing a $1 billion budget shortfall, primarily due to programs like

Lawmakers voted 231-186 to approve the Deporting Fraudsters Act, with 186 Democrats opposing the measure. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Today’s parents and the kids themselves are skeptical college is worth the cost, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. The Dems are not so much rooting for Iran, as rooting against Iran’s enemy. Bad as Iran is, its enemy is even worse in the eyes of the Dems. Iran’s enemy, you see – or at least the Dems see – has a history of its own cruel barbarism going back to at least 1619. Iran’s enemy has engaged in genocide against native people. Iran’s enemy has wrongly oppressed workers of the world

One of those women was Dolores Huerta, who co-founded the union with Chavez in 1962. Huerta came forward this week with allegations that she was victimized by Chavez in her 30s.
