Thursday on CNN’s “The Situation Room,” Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) said War Secretary Pete Hegseth should resign over a deadly strike on a girls’ elementary school in Iran.
Host Wolf Blitzer said, “I want to also turn while I have you, Senator, to that devastating bombing of a girls school in southern Iran. According to an ongoing military investigation, the U.S. was responsible and outdated information could be to blame. You’re a member of the Intelligence Committee. You’re briefed on all of this. What information are you receiving about this?”
Gillibrand said, “Well, I have very deep concerns about how this site was targeted. Obviously it was next to naval operations

Iran could use drones to make a deadly strike on California at any time, a top US Army expert says — and we’re nowhere near ready for what could happen.
Iranian forces have the technology, the ability and the motivation to launch withering drone attacks on targets in California, according to Brett Velicovich, a former US Army intelligence and special operations soldier who spent years using drones to hunt and kill the leaders of ISIS and other terrorist groups.
Velicovich said America’s enemy is almost certainly trying to launch an attack on Californian shores with the use of drones. The FBI’s warning to local law enforcement,

Former first lady Jill Biden announced she will publish a memoir this summer about her time in the White House, including reflections on the end of her husband Joe Biden’s presidency and his decision not to seek re-election.
In a video posted to Instagram, Biden stated:
I entered the role of first lady in a unique time in our nation’s history, in the midst of a pandemic and the shadow of an insurrection. Those days tested all of us—our resilience, our compassion, and our belief in one another—but we persevered. Serving in the historic East Wing was the honor of my life.

Japanese automaker Honda just cancelled the production of three planned made-in-the-U.S.A. electric cars, including the 0-Series SUV, the 0-Series Saloon, and the Acura RSX — and the company says it will write off massive losses as a result.
Still, better than building EVs nobody wants to buy. The company said the EVs had to go to avoid future losses, complaining about the “current business environment where the demand for EVs is declining significantly.”
I follow these things, and I'd somehow never even heard of Honda's 0-Series vehicles — assuredly for "zero emissions" — introduced at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and were

The first six days of war in Iran cost U.S. taxpayers at least $11.3 billion in munitions alone, according to Pentagon estimates reviewed by lawmakers, and experts say the final cost will only increase. That total does not include the cost of operating and maintaining the military force engaged in the war or battle damage sustained from Iran’s attacks.
The military used about $5.6 billion in munitions in the first two days of the conflict, according to a person with knowledge of the estimate. The munitions cost was first reported by The Washington Post.
The money spent on munitions, and the added expense of any damage done to U.S. military infrastructure

For years, the British £5 note has carried the face of Winston Churchill. The wartime prime minister who rallied Britain during its darkest hour has stared out from wallets and cash registers across the country, a constant reminder of the man who helped lead Britain through World War II.
Now the Bank of England is considering scrapping that tradition.
And what might replace one of Britain’s most consequential leaders says quite a lot about where parts of the country’s cultural establishment think Britain should be headed.
Animals. Plants. Landscapes.
Not the people who shaped the nation’s history. Wildlife.
The idea surfaced after the Bank of England asked the public what themes they

A routine family outing at Grain & Berry café in Orlando escalated into an ugly incident after a customer and her children, along with her veteran mother, asked whether the café offered a military discount.
The employee at the counter erupted into an angry tirade, screaming profanities at the family for the simple inquiry.
She told the family she “didn’t give a sh**” about military service and insisted no such discount existed at the company. While processing the family’s refund, she continued to shout profanities and threaten them.
She repeatedly told the family to “get the f*** out” and made threats of physical violence,

Occasionally I hear credentialed professionals with prestigious titles whine about the so-called “war on expertise.” It really bothers people who see themselves as “experts” that a growing share of society ignores them. A psychologist might intuit something revealing from the lack of self-confidence plaguing our “expert” class. If all the fancy degrees, voluminous curricula vitae, and lofty career positions have failed to instill a resilient modicum of self-esteem, then perhaps all those things are not the true measures of a person’s worth.
“Experts” do not like to be challenged. They say things such as, “I have a PhD in this,”

We’ve seen plenty of political battles before, but this one is getting downright dangerous for the American people.
Despite numerous terror attacks and absolute chaos at the airports as TSA agents quit in droves because they’re not getting paid, the Democrats once again voted Thursday to keep the partial government shutdown going and refused to restore funding for the Department of Homeland Security.
It's the fourth time since early February that extremist Democrats have voted to block DHS funding.
House Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and his minions are literally putting American lives in peril as they continue to throw temper tantrums over not getting their way regarding their preposterous demands

Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) web of shady family ties goes even deeper than her alleged marriage to her brother — reportedly using her political offices to secure millions of dollars for a Minneapolis health clinic operated by her sister, who is married to a top Somali government official.
Omar’s elder sister, Sahra Noor, states on her LinkedIn profile that she was the CEO of People’s Center Clinics & Services from July 2014 to April 2018. In January 2017, Omar began her two-year term as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives.
People’s Center is in the Minneapolis neighborhood of Cedar-Riverside, nicknamed “Little Mogadishu” for its high Somali

An imam told worshippers at a Twin Cities mosque that Muslims are the “replacement” for those who once held positions of privilege in America, declaring during a sermon that “this is our moment.”
Imam Abdul Malik delivered the remarks on Jan. 23 at the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center in Bloomington, where he urged Muslims in Minnesota to seek positions of influence across American institutions — including mayor, police chief, congressional leadership and even the presidency.
“Those that are in opposition to Islam, they’re watching the growth and the development of the Muslim community, and it scares them. You know why? Not because you’re a threat. No,”

They’re not on our side.
Millions of Republican voters are scratching their heads, wondering why they should send Republicans to Washington, D.C. when they refuse to represent their voters.
Voter ID has the approval of 84% of the American public — that’s Democrats and Republicans!
But John Thune refuses to pass the legislation with his Republican majority, knowing that the GOP will then lose the midterms. He really owes it to Republican voters to explain why he hates them so much. That’s the least he could do.
What a wicked man.
Thune was out bloviating about how he can’t pass the SAVE America Act again on Wednesday. This guy is the absolute worst.
