Democrats Using Shutdown Threat To Rewrite
Immigration Enforcement

Original Article

Another government shutdown looks increasingly likely by the end of the week. Democrats are demanding that major changes to Department of Homeland Security enforcement policy be written directly into the budget agreement. Those changes would largely shut down President Trump's deportation efforts. (snip) They want to require judicial warrants for immigration arrests, force ICE agents to be readily identifiable and grant states the authority to conduct their own investigations of federal ICE agents. Democrats have also demanded body cameras for ICE agents, even though the current budget proposal already funds them. (snip) Democrats have one goal in mind: Stop Trump from deporting illegal aliens.

Comments:

For once Republicans in the House have gotten their act together and actually passed a DHS appropriations bill. There is no good reason for Republicans to block this bill but the following Republican Senators have voted no on ending the filibuster and voting on the actual bill: Budd (NC), Johnson (WI), Lee (UT), Moody (FL), Paul (KY), Scott (FL), and Tuberville (AL). Some of them are posturing about deficit reduction, but a goodly number of Republican Senators represent states with significant numbers of agricultural and food processing sweatshops whose business model depends on the continued availability of illegal alien labor.

The illegals are the democrat’s people. They have to have the illegals to keep their census numbers up so they don’t lose seats in the house, and to get their votes, by hook or crook. Walz and Frey showed everyone that they have to have the illegals by going on about much they hate ICE. They’ll take their crimes and fraud. That’s why they are panicking so much.

Tuberville is my Senator. In two years, he'll be my Governor. He is wrong on this one. He opposes ending the filibuster because the Democrats will use amok when they control the Senate. He's missing the point that Democrats will abolish the filibuster on the first day the organize the Senate. There are no Democrats who oppose abolishing the filibuster when they are in control. Coach is a good man, a good Senator and will be a good Governor. He's just wrong on this one. I hope he changes his mind.

The leftist Democrats will not be able to accomplish their wants to sabotage effective immigration enforcement as long as the wimpy Republicans don’t cave in to their demands. Trump who was elected to close the borders to unlawful entry and to enforce the immigration laws should make sure that does not happen.

Pres. Trump had better not water down ICE, and I trust he won't. This is his signature issue. RINOs- grow a backbone because this is what we voted for! Those two deaths were self inflicted, and the left only used them as cannon fodder and public relations symbols. Mr. President, please veto any cuts to ICE!!!
