Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is forgoing a promised court-martialing and taking a behind-closed-doors track to attempt to punish Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.). The administrative move — which seeks to reduce Kelly’s retirement rank and military pension — is the latest in the bitter back-and-forth between the Trump administration and the retired Navy captain after he joined five other Democratic lawmakers in a November video reminding service members that they were obligated to refuse illegal orders. While Hegseth is taking Kelly into uncharted legal waters, using an action typically meant to scrutinize service members’ active-duty conduct,

Hey Ellen - last time I checked, Pete Hegseth was the Secretary of War, not the Defense Secretary.

I think Hegseth is making a big mistake. To Take out Kelly: 1. He needs to be forced back to active duty 2. Court Marshaled 3. Reduced in rank to the lowest enlisted rank 4. Retirement adjusted to the new rank 5. Sent to Sea so the REAL Sailors can take care of business, a permanent SWIM. 6. Funeral at Sea is the Tradition!

Kelly stupidly and arrogantly picked a fight with the wrong people. He's probably already sorry he did it, but has to put up endless bluster...he's backed himself into a corner.

“There are decades where nothing happens, and there are weeks where decades happen.” That’s a quote often attributed (perhaps incorrectly) to Vladimir Lenin — but whoever said it first, it’s certainly true of the last week or so. Just look at the headlines. In Iran, the mullahs who have ruled since 1979 are collapsing in the face of widespread popular revolt. For nearly all of the 47 years since Jimmy Carter allowed Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini to take power in the fallacious belief that it would somehow advance the cause of human rights, Iran has been a major rival to the United States in the region and around the world.

President Trump on Tuesday threatened to take “very strong action” against the Iranian regime if anti-government protesters are executed. “I haven’t heard about the hanging. If they hang ’em, you’re gonna see some things that – I don’t know what you’re – where you come from and what your thought process is, but you’ll perhaps be very happy,” Trump told “CBS Evening News” anchor Tony Dokoupil during an interview in Detroit. When Dokoupil asked the president to clarify what he meant, Trump responded: “If they do such a thing, we will take very strong action.” More than 2,000 Iranians have been killed amid the regime’s brutal crackdown on protesters,

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer dropped a bombshell this week, suggesting that far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar sits “at the top of the suspect list” in the sprawling Minnesota fraud scandals involving taxpayer-funded daycare and healthcare programs. The comments came during a pointed exchange with journalist Alison Steinberg, who raised serious concerns about whether members of Congress themselves may have benefited from money funneled through political action committees tied to fraudulent daycare and healthcare schemes.

Disgraced former British Ambassador to the US, Lord Mandelson, has claimed to have been ‘kept in the dark’ about Jeffrey Epstein’s sex crimes ‘because he was gay’. The Telegraph reported: “The peer was sacked as ambassador to the United States last year after it emerged [that] he had urged the financier to fight for early release from prison. Lord Mandelson claimed that, because of his sexuality, he was ‘kept separate from what [Epstein] was doing in the sexual side of his life’.”

We’re not being lied to, exactly, but we’re being force-fed a version of the truth that is intended to control our emotions, influence our reactions, and direct our behavior. The powers that be—and this is very much a part of the rupture between the ruling class and the country class—want to encourage specific social and political responses from us and are doing everything they can to make them happen.

Video footage captured an activist using a megaphone to shout: “Standing with the resistance, we affirm that Palestinians have the right to return to their homeland that was stolen from them during the 1948 Nakba [when the state of Israel declared its independence]. “We believe in the right to resist by any and all means necessary, for the full liberation and from the river to the sea!” A chant then broke out of “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”. Between American military operations in Venezuela and Iran, anti-ICE protesters screeching in the streets, mass demonstrations in Iran, ongoing terrorist attacks in our cities, and other conflicts, you can understand why some Americans are feeling a little jittery. It’s hardly a surprise, then, when some observers were freaked out when the “Doomsday plane” landed at Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday. The Air Force plane, a Boeing E‑4B Nightwatch, is equipped to become a floating Pentagon in the sky and maintain operations even if catastrophe hits — a doomsday scenario — and is built to withstand nuclear and even EMP attacks. The two key guidelines that have most impacted American food policy (and public health) for nearly 50 years were to limit total fat to no more than 30% and saturated fat to no more than 10% of calorie intake. These restrictions were set because it was thought that fat caused heart disease (in middle aged men). My PhD examined the evidence for those guidelines and the beliefs upon which they were based and found that they should not have been introduced – then or now. Other research teams have found the same. There are three macronutrients: fat, protein and carbs.

Something being exposed with these stand-offs between federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and city law enforcement agencies is the incompetent activists who lead them. Look at Portland Police Bureau Chief Bob Day, who my colleague Rusty Weiss just revealed held back in disclosing the facts behind the Portland shooting of two Tren de Aragua connected illegals by Border Patrol, precipitating the dissemination of a fake narrative and escalating further chaos in his city. Then there is Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara, who instructed his residents to call 911 on ICE agents.

While the news media is focused on the anti-ICE protests happening in Minnesota, there was another protest happening on the west coast that did not get nearly as much attention. The people of the Pacific Palisades held a protest to speak out against the non-existent rebuilding in the area, a full year after wildfires destroyed thousands of homes and businesses. The people there are demanding an end to red tape, fees, and other things standing in the way of recovery, as well as the leaders who are not doing their jobs. The national media doesn’t want to cover this because the leaders in question are Democrats.

President Donald Trump said last week that he was “immediately taking steps to ban large institutional investors from buying more single-family homes” and “will be calling on Congress to codify” the proposal. His advisers need to show him why that’s a bad idea. Trump promised to “discuss this topic, including further housing and affordability proposals, and more, at my speech in Davos in two weeks.” So there is time to present clear arguments that should convince him to quietly drop the plan. If we had an audience with the president, we’d first remind him that the government in a free country has no authority to determine who

I don’t think anyone would confuse Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson with a sharp legal mind. She often comes across as the poster child for what’s wrong with DEI hires. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in Little v. Hecox, a case that will likely decide whether laws barring biological males from competing on girls’ sports teams are constitutional. Given that Jackson famously admitted during her confirmation hearings that she didn’t know what a woman was — because, as she put it, she’s “not a biologist” — you knew she was bound to be a real spectacle.
