Washington Post: Socialized Medicine is
Struggling in the UK

The Washington Post editorial board continues to challenge its progressive readers today with an editorial taking a shot at socialized medicine in the UK. As the paper notes, the UK's National Health Service is in the midst of an annual winter crisis reminiscent of COVID. The cause this year is the regular flu which is overwhelming hospitals and causing the nation's health secretary to warn sick people to stay home unless absolutely necessary. The NHS has existed for years in a perpetual state of emergency. This was the case before the pandemic hit, and it has only gotten worse. Hospital corridors overflow and routine procedures get canceled

The giant subsidies they have received from the US since the end of WW2 are coming to a rightful end. Subsidies of pharmaceuticals and other related expenses of their socialist health care system, financed by the US tax payer, are coming to an end. Lets see how socialized medicine works without being propped up by our capitalist system.

The left seems to have decided that sedition is their ticket to winning over the American people and taking down Donald Trump, and they are going all-in on their efforts. First, it was the now-infamous "Seditious Six" – a group of Democrat lawmakers who put out a video pleading with U.S. troops to not "give up the ship" and to consider defying orders from above if they deem them to be unlawful. The video was apparently in response to efforts by the Trump administration to cut off the flow of dangerous drugs into the U.S. with military-led strikes on drug-smuggling boats in the waters near Venezuela.

The Trump administration made a point of acknowledging the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas, and the New York Times wasn’t having it. In an article entitled, “Trump Administration Emphasizes Religion in Official Christmas Messages,” the Times wanted its readers to know that once again the Trump administration is the worst, this time because people in government did not avoid “overtly religious language, as the Constitution prohibits the establishment of an official state religion.” The Times, which consistently takes a “freedom FROM religion” approach except when that religion is the LGBTQ dogma or Islam, had to work to ignore the part in the Declaration of Independence that says

Michelle Goldberg's columns are a mixed bag. Usually they provide some clear insight into just what every other like-minded progressive is thinking at a given moment. Occasionally, she demonstrates a willingness to 2nd guess her own impulses but today is not one of those days. Today's column is pure holiday wish fulfillment. It's titled "Trump Is Getting Weaker, and the Resistance Is Getting Stronger." It has been a gruesome year for those who see Donald Trump’s kakistocracy clearly. He returned to office newly emboldened, surrounded by obsequious tech barons, seemingly in command of not just the country but also the zeitgeist. Since then, it’s been a parade of nightmares

President Donald Trump said the U.S. launched airstrikes in northwest Nigeria on Christmas night targeting ISIS militants he accused of killing Christians, calling the operation decisive and warning further attacks would follow if the violence continues. "Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even Centuries!" Trump said Thursday on Truth Social. "I have previously warned these Terrorists that if they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians, there would be hell to pay

Politico is framing the celebration of Christmas as a “far-right” front in Europe, arguing that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and her party have made it a “spectacle.” Conservative social media users blasted the left-wing outlet’s Wednesday article, “How the far right stole Christmas,” authored by Rome correspondent Hannah Roberts. “Not a ‘far right’ concept.. politico is such a joke,” wrote podcast host Mel K: “Wow, imagine marking Christmas as being Christian. Revolutionary thinking in Europa,” wrote former Breitbart News journalist Chris Tomlinson: In the Christmas Eve piece, Roberts wrote that the holiday “is becoming a new front line in Europe’s culture wars,”

As we reported on Tuesday, the Supreme Court refused to stay a lower court order blocking the Trump administration from deploying National Guard troops in Illinois. Many conservatives were outraged, complaining that since the advent of President Trump 2.0, judges at all levels have been doing everything in their power to kneecap his agenda. The Supreme Court has issued some favorable decisions along the way — but not this time. One person who was not amused was a Supreme Court justice himself: Justice Samuel Alito, and his dissent on the case doesn’t mince words about his displeasure with what he sees as "unwise" and "imprudent" determinations made by the 6-3 majority.

The recent presidential elections in Honduras felt like the never-ending story in recent weeks, but we can officially report that Nasry "Tito" Asfura is the winner. He's the conservative candidate who was backed by Donald Trump earlier this year. It was close. Asfura received just over 40% of the vote, while center-right candidate Salvador Nasralla got about 39.5%. The far-left socialist candidate, Rixi Moncada, who was hand-picked by the sitting president received about 19% of the vote. The inauguration is scheduled for Jan. 27, 2026, and, despite initial claims of fraud, current president Xiomara Castro promises there will be a peaceful transition of power. The Honduran military has also promised

South Carolina Republicans are taking a victory lap. In an off-year election, days before a major holiday, they managed to pull off wins for three state legislator seats. Former state senator Lee Bright put his hat back into the ring and won the District 12 seat, gaining 68 percent of the vote over a progressive write-in candidate. The results are clear from Tuesday’s special election — Lee Bright is heading back to the South Carolina Senate to represent District 12. He won with 68.43% of the vote, while the remaining 31.57% of the vote went toward write-in ballots. Bright, known for his vocal conservatism,

There’s an episode of The Simpsons from the third season where the character Sideshow Bob marries Bart's Aunt Selma to kill her. When his scheme falls apart and he's hauled back to jail, he shouts, "I'll be back. You can't keep the Democrats out of the White House forever, and when they get in, I'm back on the streets with all my criminal buddies." I thought about that line today when I read that under Trump's second term, the United States is on track for the most significant single-year drop in murders ever recorded. According to Asher's Real-Time Crime Index (RTCI), the United States is on track for the biggest single-year

Weiss made it clear in a memo to staff this week that she expected more from them in that story and what they put out to the public. The 60 Minutes correspondent, Sharyn Alfonsi, defended their reporting in an email to colleagues after the story was pulled. "We requested responses to questions and/or interviews

President Donald Trump is continuing to ratchet up pressure on Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro, saying it would be "smart" for him to step down and warning him not to play "tough." Trump, taking reporter questions at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida on Monday evening, was directly asked if his administration's ultimate goal in Venezuela is to force Maduro from power. "Well, I think it probably would. I can't tell him. That's up to him what he wants to do. I think it would be smart for him to do that. But again, we're going to find out," Trump said.

I've written before about the problems with the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. In October, people mocked Barack Obama's post about the library. Obama said it would be a "hub for change" for people to "get inspired." The pomposity of it all. (X) (X) Like everything having to do with Obama, it started at one price — $500 million — but then the cost of it ballooned. Now it's at $830 million. Newsguard will note for their information filtering system, that Mayor Jacob Frey did not directly say residents of the region will start killing ICE agents. However, Mayor Frey did say if the ICE deportation operations continue, ICE agents are likely to be killed. The obvious question is, ‘who will do the killing, Jacob‘? Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey have built the illegal alien powder-keg while both have financially benefitted from the subsequent Somali community fraud, then together they blame the presence of federal law enforcement -Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)- agents for striking the match. The CEO of the Obama Foundation, Valerie Jarrett, told CBS News Chicago that they are excited to open their doors next June. Despite her enthusiasm, locals have raised concerns about its appearance. However, the CEO explained how this investment and project will demonstrate how diversity can 'better represent the community in which we're located and be a national model for how you can be inclusive and have a world-class

A group of 19 Democrat-led states and Washington, D.C., filed a lawsuit against the Trump Administration over a declaration that aims to restrict gender transition treatment for minors. The lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; its Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.; and its inspector general comes after the declaration issued last week described treatments such as puberty blockers, hormone treatments and gender surgeries as unsafe and ineffective for children experiencing gender dysphoria. The declaration also warned doctors they could be excluded from federal health programs, including Medicare and Medicaid, if they provide these treatments to minors.

The California DMV is facing a lawsuit brought on behalf of nearly 20,000 immigrant truckers over the state’s plans to revoke their commercial drivers’ licenses (CDLs). The Asian Law Caucus and the Sikh Coalition, along with the law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, filed the lawsuit on Tuesday in an effort to stop the California DMV from canceling the CDLs, which the complaint says would “result in mass work stoppages” starting Jan 5, 2026. “This class-action lawsuit is brought on behalf of the Jakara Movement and five commercial drivers who have been deprived of their rights and livelihoods,” a joint statement from the Asian Law Caucus and Sikh Coalition said.

A criminal jailed for growing drugs has avoided deportation back to Albania after a judge ruled it would be “harsh” on his partner because she cannot speak Albanian. Armando Iberhasaj, who was sentenced to four months in prison for growing more than 200 cannabis plants, claimed his deportation would breach his rights to a family life with his partner under the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). He claimed this outweighed his criminal threat to society given that he had been jailed for less than a year – the current cut-off point above which foreign offenders face automatic deportation.
