The U.S. Military could be preparing to sever ties with the Scouts, according to a leaked Pentagon memo.
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth wants to bring an end to the centuries-old partnership between the military and Scouting America because he believes the organization has developed a tendency to "attack boy-friendly spaces," according to documents reportedly seen by NPR.
A Department of Defense official told NPR the Pentagon would not comment on "leaked documents that we cannot authenticate and that may be predecisional." Newsweek contacted the U.S. Department of Defense for further comment via email. The U.S. military's relationship with Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America) is a long-standing

The Biden administration allegedly pressured US airports to house migrants despite warnings that it could compromise safety and put travelers at risk, according to a bombshell Senate report.
The 47-page document, “Flight Risk” released by the Senate Commerce Committee, alleges the White House directed the Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to find airport facilities for shelters or processing centers for migrants.
According to the report, the administration instructed DOT and FAA to “inventory available facilities” at both federally owned and local airports and to “divert federal resources” to support migrant arrivals.

Ads circulated by Philadelphia-area religious institutions are promoting Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro’s upcoming participation in a Thanksgiving interfaith event this Tuesday featuring extreme anti-Israel Imam Basheer Bilaal. This controversial gathering, hosted by the Old York Road Temple Beth Am Jewish center, comes on the heels of Shapiro’s $5 million grant to a mosque with a documented record of anti-Semitism – raising serious questions about his judgment and the message he is sending through his radical Muslim alliances.
Who Is Basheer Bilaal?
Basheer Bilaal is the resident imam of the Muslim Society of Delaware Valley (MSDV), which oversees the Islamic

Members of the House will soon have access to up to $20,000 a month to pay for personal security while they’re off the Hill — doubling the monthly amount currently available — and access to a mobile duress system, according to the House sergeant-at-arms.
Sergeant-at-Arms William McFarland announced the enhancements Monday in a “Dear Colleague” letter. The additional funds will be available Dec. 1 and will allow members to hire security personnel or companies for personal protection. It comes at a time of heightened threats and rising tensions over security for members of Congress.
“Covered services include accompanying a Member or providing residential coverage at a member’s home,” McFarland wrote

The FBI said Monday that 719 kilograms of methamphetamine were found in a shipment of blackberries. Law enforcement discovered 419 kilograms in a refrigerated truck parked outside a residence on Custer Avenue in Atlanta, according to a release from the FBI.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Juan Hernandez, age 40, and Nelsonen Sorto, age 36, both of Atlanta, are charged with trafficking methamphetamine. The driver of the truck was not with the shipment, according to a report from the Hall County Sheriff's Office. Gerardo Solorio-Alvarado, 44, was arrested at his residence on Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville and charged with trafficking methamphetamine. An additional 300 kilograms was found

Something stinks in Medford. Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn is racking up do-gooder awards for her environmental crusading, but some elected officials and residents of the Boston suburb are less impressed with her latest effort that will soon see trash pickup reduced to once every two weeks. The new plan, which will see residents’ 64-gallon trash bins collected half as frequently, was announced in tandem with the news that Medford had received a $200,000 “Pay As You Throw” grant from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. “We made a commitment to Zero Waste in that plan and are making it easier for Medford residents and businesses

Last week a radio host in Salt Lake City asked me a question I didn’t expect. We’d been talking about my “jobs Americans won’t do” article, which kind of kicked the anthill, and everything stayed within the usual lanes: illegal immigration, wages, hiring incentives, hollowed-out towns. Then, at the very end, he asked the only question that really matters: “So how do we fix it?”
Not describe it or rant about it. Fix it.
My answer, essentially, was, "It's complicated." There isn’t a bumper-sticker answer. And there certainly isn’t a partisan one. The problem goes much deeper than illegal immigration, though illegal immigration made it far worse. The truth is brutal:

The public has until Midnight (Eastern), November 24, 2025, to submit feedback on the Department of Homeland Security’s proposed changes to the H-1B visa lottery.
As of midday today, about 1,000 new comments have been posted on the federal portal at Regulations.gov, bringing the total to over 12,000.
The proposed rule, titled “Weighted Selection Process for Registrants and Petitioners Seeking to File Cap-Subject H-1B Petitions”, would replace the current random lottery for 85,000 annual H-1B visas with a system that gives priority to higher-wage positions.
Registrations for unique beneficiaries would be entered into a weighted selection pool based on wage levels, with the highest-wage positions having the greatest odds of selection.

The Associated Press argued for keeping its Oval Office and Air Force One access before a Washington, D.C., appeals panel Monday, after riling President Donald Trump over the news outlet’s insistence on using the phrase “Gulf of Mexico.”
“The First Amendment does not stop at the Oval Office door,” AP attorney Charles Tobin argued before the three-judge panel of the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.
He argued that the White House press pool system has long allowed the AP to attend almost every presidential event. He noted that some form of the White House press pool goes back to the White House of President James Garfield, and was more

It’s another day ending in “y,” so it’s another day when a federal judge jumps in to thwart the Trump administration.
On Monday, Judge Cameron McGowan Currie tossed the cases against Former FBI Director James Comey and current New York Attorney General Letitia James, ruling that Attorney General Pam Bondi's appointment of Lindsey Halligan as interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia was invalid. The Department of Justice is almost certain to appeal the ruling. Meanwhile, the case was dismissed without prejudice, meaning the charges could still be refiled, although in the case of Comey, that may be in doubt given that the statute of limitations has since run.

A controversial Muslim building project in northern Texas is rebranding as the apparent attempt to build a town based on Islam draws national attention. Collin County Judge Chris Hill posted via Facebook on Nov. 8 that the project known as “EPIC City” is now called “The Meadow.” Development Group Community Capital Partners, also known as CCP, is submitting new construction and city planning blueprints for Collin County to evaluate. "CCP is the company behind EPIC City, an Islamic-focused community planned near Josephine, Texas, in Collin and Hunt Counties,” Hill wrote.

Italy has long been one of Europe’s strongest defenders of religious freedom despite the influence of the Vatican.
But now, the country is poised to outlaw the use of traditional Islamic attire like burqas, a move the government says will strengthen its tradition of religious liberty by requiring all faiths to operate with “full transparency” and within the limits of Italian law.
The proposed law, which is set to be debated in Italy’s parliament before the end of this year, would ban “religiously motivated garments that obscure identity or impose non-transparent forms of [religious] affiliation,” according to a draft of the proposal published in the Italian media.
