Judge Stuns D.C. With Ruling on James
Comey, Letitia James

It’s another day ending in “y,” so it’s another day when a federal judge jumps in to thwart the Trump administration. On Monday, Judge Cameron McGowan Currie tossed the cases against Former FBI Director James Comey and current New York Attorney General Letitia James, ruling that Attorney General Pam Bondi's appointment of Lindsey Halligan as interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia was invalid. The Department of Justice is almost certain to appeal the ruling. Meanwhile, the case was dismissed without prejudice, meaning the charges could still be refiled, although in the case of Comey, that may be in doubt given that the statute of limitations has since run.

Another Democrat Judge, appointed by Bill Clinton, so what would you expect? They say it’s possible that the Clintons will not comply with a congressional subpoena and if so with be referred to the Department of Justice for prosecution. If that happens look for the Democrats to arrange for this Judge to handle those cases. If not, look for the Democrats to arrange for another Democrat nominated Judge to handle the cases. Then guess what will happen?

I am giving up hope on justice in this country. Even the Dems have to know Comey is guilty but he is one of theirs so they find another liberal judge to thwart a case against the despicable Comey and Tish James. He will have to answer for his corruption in the hereafter. I just wish he would have to pay for it in this life.

This stinks. The case is in a Federal court in the Eastern District of Virginia. Cameron McGowan Currie was nominated by President Bill Clinton and confirmed by the Senate to a Federal judgeship in the District of South Carolina. Furthermore she retired over a decade ago (in 2013) and assumed "senior status," meaning that she retained her full pay but can be assigned cases which she is entirely free to accept or reject. (Senior Judges are the most imperial of the imperial judiciary.) Judge Currie was assigned this case by Circuit Judge Albert Diaz, an Obama Judge. There are a number of issues here that cry out for congressional review and corrective legislation: (1) the judiciary outrageously purporting to overrule an Executive Branch personnel decision by the President (in New Jersey a different Circuit even purported to dictate who should serve as an interim US Attorney; (2) the questionable "senior judge status" which from coast to coast has created a de facto "reserve" available as needed by the Resistance Judiciary; and (3) the suspicious assignment of a Clinton Judge by an Obama Judge to a politically charged case. (At least this wasn't a ruling by a magistrate, a separate scandal.) The Federal Ninth Circuit is jokingly referred to a the "Ninth Circus" but it is merely one "ring" in the national judicial circus Chief Justice John Roberts has allowed to develop.

Just wondering - - is there a limit on the number of times this sort of thing has to happen before “D.C.” is no longer “stunned” by it? The rest of the country came to expect it ages ago. Once D.C. gets over its shock, many of the rest of us would like it to be corrected. Sad to say, we would be stunned and shocked if that were to happen, and not at all surprised if it doesn’t.

This was a first year law student error on the part of Pam Bondi's DOJ. However, the judge is a magistrate judge, and he might be overturned on appeal. If not, Pam Bondi might be able to re- file charges. The underlying problem, is the blue paper hold on federal attorneys, along with filibusters. It is time to get rid of both. And one more suggestion - call Comey back to testify before congress. And trrey the morbidly obese NY AG separately on each act of mortgage fraud.

soooo...basically the Judge ruled against TRUMP...not against the charges, nor even the AG. Though trump is not charged, is not a witness, has no part in the case, even though he IS the primary victim. I expect her determination of the legality of the appointment will be revered by a higher court, then she will have to start over...or have it assigned to a different judge.

I'd like to blame the judge for all the reasons stated but what the court said was that AG Bondi blew it and the appointed prosecutor did not know any better either. Inexperience and ignorance has caused many a fall, but so has political appoints of the unqualified. it may also be the politicking of the persons involved. Hack judges just require the lawyers to up their games or lose. They are not an excuse for losing. Bondi blew this. I don't know what was on her minds but the improper appointment is entirely on her. This case was a loaded gun and Bondi and her ill-prepared, and maybe ill experienced (maybe a DEI appt.), choice allowed the judge to pull the trigger. Some of those old, old, judges are tough old birds and they don't waste time. Some someone inexperienced or unprepared - sloppy work - and they'll kick them to the curb before they can say, "If it pleases the court." It's interesting to note that this failure keeps Bondi's record of doing nothing intact.

Last week a radio host in Salt Lake City asked me a question I didn’t expect. We’d been talking about my “jobs Americans won’t do” article, which kind of kicked the anthill, and everything stayed within the usual lanes: illegal immigration, wages, hiring incentives, hollowed-out towns. Then, at the very end, he asked the only question that really matters: “So how do we fix it?” Not describe it or rant about it. Fix it. My answer, essentially, was, "It's complicated." There isn’t a bumper-sticker answer. And there certainly isn’t a partisan one. The problem goes much deeper than illegal immigration, though illegal immigration made it far worse. The truth is brutal:

The proposed rule, titled “Weighted Selection Process for Registrants and Petitioners Seeking to File Cap-Subject H-1B Petitions”, would replace the current random lottery for 85,000 annual H-1B visas with a system that gives priority to higher-wage positions. Registrations for unique beneficiaries would be entered into a weighted selection pool based on wage levels, with the highest-wage positions having the greatest odds of selection.

Italy has long been one of Europe’s strongest defenders of religious freedom despite the influence of the Vatican. But now, the country is poised to outlaw the use of traditional Islamic attire like burqas, a move the government says will strengthen its tradition of religious liberty by requiring all faiths to operate with “full transparency” and within the limits of Italian law. The proposed law, which is set to be debated in Italy’s parliament before the end of this year, would ban “religiously motivated garments that obscure identity or impose non-transparent forms of [religious] affiliation,” according to a draft of the proposal published in the Italian media.

Neither seemed to understand how incredibly grotesque it was for a white politician to declare that a black man’s voting choice determined whether he was eligible to be black. To Biden, the line wasn’t a gaffe. It was a summary. A neat little distillation of the worldview dominant in academia, DEI institutions and the activist class for the past decade: Race isn’t ancestry anymore. Race is ideology. Race
