One of VDH's best, he masterfully weaves US history and today's goings on. He has a ton of material to work with sad to say. "..being the left, their loud nullificationist vows were, of course, purely political and never principled..."

The Union defeated the Confederacy but did not crush the Democratic Party. And today's Democratic Party knows that it can get away with anything because even for those few Republicans who are willing to take a Dem on, the judiciary is so corrupted now by Leftists that they know they will get away with their crimes.

VDH could have included John Kennedy Toole's novel A Confederacy of Dunces in his discussion of fictional inspirations for the "Never-Trump Confederacy." Even the Swiftian epigram on which it is based is apropos: "When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign, that the dunces are all in confederacy against him."

Maybe we should start forwarding the notion that anyone who despises America enough to have voted for Joe Biden deserves to die! Makes sence to me!

It doesn't seem to matter to liberal voters that the democrats have no brains or practical ideas and are as immoral and decadent as the destroyed populations of Sodom and Gomorrah, that Joe Biden or Kamala Harris are pathetic excuses for presidential candidates. The TDS compels them to rant and vote against Donald Trump and that's all that matters. Thousands of us used to have good and supposedly intelligent friends who have been struck down by this disease and are now babbling fools.

Democrats are seeking to put limits on private donations to foot the bill for President Donald Trump's new White House ballroom amid what they say are bribery concerns. Trump announced in October that construction had started on the ballroom — leading to the demolition of the White House’s historic East Wing — and would be privately funded at an estimated cost of $300 million. That was up from the $200 million estimate first provided in July when the project was unveiled. But Democrats are concerned the donors — including individuals and other organizations — are footing the bill for the project because they are seeking

My close friends blame me for everything that Donald Trump does. One year ago I, a lifelong Democrat, wrote in The Free Press that I had just voted for Trump. I realized that my party had turned its back on working-class families like my own—in favor of identity politics, free trade, and open borders. Many people warned me about publishing the essay. They told me the reaction would be brutal, and they were right. Strangers on the internet relentlessly harassed me. Death threats flooded my inboxes. People accused me of being a Russian asset. They also told me that the left would use it against me when

A new investigation found that Minnesota taxpayer dollars were going far beyond the North Star State's borders and ending up in the hands of Al-Shabaab, an al Qaeda-linked terror group. Ryan Thorpe and Christopher F. Rufo of the Manhattan Institute uncovered a web of fraud involving Minnesota’s Medicaid Housing Stabilization Services program, Feeding Our Future and other organizations in a bombshell report. Thorpe and Rufo noted that, in many cases, members of Minnesota's Somali community were perpetrators of fraud. They added that federal counterterrorism sources confirmed that millions of dollars in stolen funds were sent back to Somalia, which is how Al-Shabaab got the cash

If you have a TV or social media, chances are you’ve seen Scott Jennings in his element: when he’s owning the libs. No one does it better. The CNN senior political commentator and Republican strategist has become one of the leading voices for conservatives around the country. He’s often the only Republican at the table, and he deftly takes on his liberal counterparts with rationality and humor. Jennings’ meme-perfect expressions of amused disbelief at what progressives say often speak for themselves. Leading up to Donald Trump’s second term, Jennings was able to break down the president’s appeal to many conservatives for CNN viewers,

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated its website with a new stance on the potential link between vaccines and autism. The new wording on the CDC’s site states, "The claim 'vaccines do not cause autism' is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism. "Studies supporting a link have been ignored by health authorities." The agency noted that the statement "vaccines do not cause autism" has been "historically disseminated" by the CDC and other federal health agencies in an effort to prevent vaccine hesitancy.

When Obama administration officials manufactured U.S. intelligence tying Donald Trump to Moscow following his stunning 2016 victory, they had no idea Trump’s own political appointees would help them undermine Trump’s presidency – and his chances of reelection in 2020. RCI’s review of recently declassified documents and exclusive interviews with former Trump officials reveals for the first time how key members of Trump’s cabinet and other appointees during his first term shrouded the previous administration’s machinations and either deliberately or inadvertently misled the public into thinking the fake Russiagate intelligence was real.

A project heralded by Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy and accelerated by President Donald Trump stands to deal a huge blow to China’s dominance in the nanotechnology, energy and automotive sectors as the GraphiteOne project near Nome uncovered vast reserves — for which Beijing previously accounted for 90% of production. As of 2024, the U.S. was at least 93% import-dependent on both rare earth elements (REEs) and graphite itself, according to the International Energy Agency, and the Graphite Creek deposit near Nome has already been dubbed the largest such tranche in the U.S. But, this week’s announcement that REEs were discovered in addition to the

For decades, the monolithic and sacrosanct international climate change hierarchy went unquestioned. Western nations in particular spent trillions of dollars over the past half-century to subsidize expensive but erratic wind and solar energy while demonizing carbon fuels as toxic threats to the planet. Like Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion dogma, climate change orthodoxy was embedded into every aspect of Western culture, from the corporate boardroom to the university campus. Question whether man-made global warming was truly responsible for increased temperatures rather than natural, often centuries-long cycles of heating and cooling of the planet, and one was labeled a climate crank.

Ecuador's president wants to change his country's constitution, and Ecuadorians will get to say whether they agree in a referendum this weekend. To be held on November 16, the vote will decide whether a nearly 20-year constitutional clause banning foreign militaries from having a presence in the country is repealed. Surveys by the Cedatos polling firm suggest nearly two-thirds of the country is supportive of the change. If passed, it would allow the US to occupy bases on Ecuador's Pacific coastline. For Ecuador, it would strengthen ties to the US and potentially improve efforts to fight local violence. For the Trump Administration, it would be a boon for its campaign against drug trafficking

The Department of Justice is almost certain to appeal the ruling. Meanwhile, the case was dismissed without prejudice, meaning the charges could still be refiled, although in the case of Comey, that may be in doubt given that the statute of limitations has since run.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is laying down the law for Bill and Hillary Clinton: show up in person for depositions in the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking investigation, or face prison. Comer warned the former president and his twice-failed presidential candidate wife that dodging these subpoenas with written answers will not cut it—it's a clear no-go, and could invite contempt of Congress charges. Originally subpoenaed in August, the Clintons asked their lawyer to request that the committee accept written statements rather than require them to sit for live depositions. Their attorney, David Kendall, claimed that written answers would be the “most efficient and equitable” approach. Comer shot that down.

Last week a radio host in Salt Lake City asked me a question I didn’t expect. We’d been talking about my “jobs Americans won’t do” article, which kind of kicked the anthill, and everything stayed within the usual lanes: illegal immigration, wages, hiring incentives, hollowed-out towns. Then, at the very end, he asked the only question that really matters: “So how do we fix it?” Not describe it or rant about it. Fix it. My answer, essentially, was, "It's complicated." There isn’t a bumper-sticker answer. And there certainly isn’t a partisan one. The problem goes much deeper than illegal immigration, though illegal immigration made it far worse.
