A resolution honoring Charlie Kirk is poised to get Democratic support during a House vote on Friday, just over a week after the conservative activist was assassinated. A Democratic member confirmed to the Washington Examiner that Democratic leadership told the conference they planned to support the resolution. A bipartisan debate took place Thursday afternoon, setting up a vote on the resolution Friday (snip) “Political violence has no place in the United States of America,” House Oversight ranking member Robert Garcia (D-CA) said during the debate, where he condemned the assassination and offered his condolences to the Kirk family.

What is the point of this? I'm all for honoring people, but do we really want our congress-critters spending all their time voting on resolutions that do absolutely nothing to move the country forward? This is ridiculous--and a complete waste of time! Congress, do your damn jobs!

I am of the belief that if there was a resolution before Congress today that stated "tomorrow is Saturday" it would not be a unanimous vote. Lots of DEI employed people in government positions.

Congress's officfially condemning political violence is a perfectly good use of some of their time. It usefully revealed the mindsets of those who voted against it. And even some here.

Resolutions condemning violence, calling crime a bad thing that must be controlled, (asserting that) voting must be restricted to citizens, are being opposed - by people who are going to be asking for your vote in the next election. Amazing!

Everything in Washington is political theater right now and it’s never been worse. Trump’s strategy of forcing Democrats to oppose things that most Americans agree on is working.

58 Demorats that voted against this showed all that they hate the all American boy who loved his country, his God, and his family and wanted to share those beliefs with the rest of his generation. What was wrong with that? It leads me to believe that they not only hate Charlie Kirk's friend DJT, who shares the same beliefs, but they hate Charlie's God, Jesus Christ. Finally the Left is fighting against anyone debating against those beliefs and will condone violence to stop that.
