The New York Times Perpetuates a Lie

Probably the worst crime a journalist can commit is attributing to someone a statement–putting it in quotation marks–that the person never said. That would get you fired from a 9th grade student paper. But it is exactly what former Washington Post “journalist” Karen Attiah did, on the BlueSky hate platform: (X) The quote Attiah attributed to Charlie Kirk? He never said it. She just made it up. Her fabrication was rapidly exposed on X, and The Washington Post did the only thing it could, confronted with such misconduct: they fired her. So Attiah took her grievance to the New York Times, which printed a sympathetic account by one Benjamin Mullin: Karen Attiah,

FTA: "The New York Times exists for the sole purpose of misinforming its readers. The good news is that hardly anyone still takes that paper seriously. The Times’s long record of fabrication and misinformation has caught up with it." Let's hope that President Trump can sue the NYT underground, out of business, a cautionary tale for other dishonest journalistic enterprises. Put them OB.

The NYT and WaPo continue to exist for 4 reasons: white liberal guilt, socialist validation, hate validation and habit. The first 3 should be obvious Habit - As much as I hated the editorial and reporting bias of my local rag I continued to subscribe for a decade for sports and entertainment. I bought a portable tablet and found sources for those on line a decade ago and I dumped that cesspool of left win misinformation. I no longef had to wonder if I would get a paper or walk out into the weather to find it. I have no idea what the subscription cost is today but back then it was close to $500/ yr so Ihave saved well over $5000.

It is now almost impossible to get away with the omissions, distortions, and lies that the Propaganda media has used to propagate Leftism in the past. The vast numbers on the internet have immediate access to enormous resources that simply unmake Left's lies. And it happens in REAL TIME, not months later when someone digs up the facts but everyone has forgotten the original issue and Leftists say "what does it matter now" to dismiss it. Since most of the Leftist media is continually packed with lies, there is a drumbeat of exposure and corrections of what they are doing. It's hard to be "a Newspaper of record" when your record is uniformly lies. Best of all, it is happening across all Leftist outlets; papers, TV shows, magazines, radio, online outlets, NGOs, and others. Patterns of coordinated lies between outlets are also being exposed and the sources for those lies are coming under a microscope. The best result is that almost all these outlets need listeners/viewers/readers and they are hemorrhaging them and the advertising dollars associated with audience count. The only thing we need to remember is that even when these outlets are saying they are making changes and even fire some people, they really are NOT changing. They are trying to fake it until they make it. NOW is the time to turn completely away from them and let them die. We don't want to hang on to see if they change and allow them to survive to fight another day. We don't need to be violent, just completely withdraw from them.

Another clear and obvious exception to freedom of speech- attempting to destroy a person or their reputation in the public domain by knowingly attributing false information in an attempt to gain advantage. Laws should support heavy civil, criminal, and financial penalties for this, and that includes such behavior by political figures. Public humiliation for the offenders often just creates perverse martyrdom, and is not enough.

The Labour Party government has argued that allowing Sharia courts to operate in the United Kingdom is a fundamental “British value” and has refused to distance itself from a broad stroke definition of so-called Islamophobia, which critics say would brand discussions around Muslim child rape grooming gangs as potentially illegally racist. Pressed on Tuesday in the House of Commons by Reform UK’s Sarah Pochin as to whether the government supported the existence of Sharia courts in the UK, Minister of State for Courts and Legal Services, Sarah Sackman, unequivocally backed their right to operate. The Labour MP for Finchley and Golders Green said:

In myth or fictional movies, there's always a hero who does the heroic stuff. In history, though, there are heroes who perform such incredible feats of courage and valor that they're added to history. Add a generation or two, and that history becomes legend. Add another generation or two, and that legend becomes mythic. When Rome trembled before foreign hosts, in ancient times, one man stood at the opening of a narrow wooden bridge across the Tiber River. After the Etruscans attacked, the Romans panicked, and the bridge behind Horatius had to be destroyed before the enemy could use it. Scarred, one-eyed Horatius Cocles refused to yield, fighting until

This means that even supposedly meek creatures will defend themselves with a surprising level of frenzy and violence. Snubbed at the polls, cut off from sub rosa USAID sustenance, humiliated time and again by the ever adroit Donald Trump, and hemorrhaging its plantation BIPOCs, the party has resorted to obscenities, outright antisemitism, and the defense of criminals everywhere (including drug-runners

In the aftermath of the assassination of Charlie Kirk by a violently deranged and hate-filled leftist (yes, that is a confirmed fact), some on the hard Left have been publicly expressing justifications for, and even celebrations of, the murder. These ghouls do not represent America, nor do they represent America's center-left coalition writ large. Many politicians, public figures and private citizens on the 'progressive' end of the spectrum have prominently and unequivocally denounced the killing. This must be acknowledged and embraced with gratitude by all people of good will. The forces of decency must stand together against the cancer of political violence and twisted vigilantism.

Some top Trump officials have made some not-so-helpful remarks about free speech and hate speech, namely from Attorney General Pam Bondi. I don’t think the government should be the point of the lance in targeting people who say insane things. We, as citizens, do a fine job exposing those creeps—there have been hordes of professionals fired or placed on leave for gross posts celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk. We’ll revisit that later, but, of course, CNN was aghast at this, with host Abby Phillip trying to spin this as a move to punish the Left and President Trump’s political rivals. That’s such a juvenile, knee-jerk take.

The Pentagon is not backing down from its quest for consequences for those who celebrate Charlie Kirk’s killing, even as Democrats warn the move is "un-American" and violates free speech protections. "Hunting down and prosecuting service members for their individual political beliefs is dangerous and un-American," Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo., a former Army Ranger, wrote on X.

Official estimates put the crowd between 100,000 and 150,000. I am no expert on crowd size, but it looked much bigger than that. Some partisans claimed it was as many as three million. English and United Kingdom flags were everywhere. The demonstrators were protesting the British government’s immigration policies, which threaten to render England extinct, and assaults on freedom of speech, exemplified by recent arrests of conservatives for tweets.
