Fentanyl Death in Kansas

Two people have been charged with murder for the fentanyl death of a toddler in March in Leavenworth, Kansas. “The Leavenworth Police Department arrested 40-year-old Tara Huerta on Friday. The Kansas City Police Department arrested Kenneth Hedgecock, 34, days later,” WTVM reported. The arrests occurred after a 3-year-old was found unresponsive in Huerta and Hedgecock’s apartment in March and was transported to a hospital. The child ultimately did not survive, and a May 29 autopsy report revealed the toddler died of acute fentanyl toxicity.

Comments:

Drugs and paraphernalia found in the apartment linked to the death of this poor child. Why would ANYONE trust these two with their precious child???

Federal Reserve Chair ‘Too Late’ Jerome Powell has been a thorn in President Trump’s economic agenda. He doesn’t want to cut the rates, despite ample signs that inflation has stabilized. The tariffs have not wrecked the economy, but he remains defiant, creating immense tensions between the Fed and the White House. Powell did signal that he could cut rates in September. Now, the chance of that has increased with the firing of Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, who’s been criminally referred on suspicion of mortgage fraud

Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson invoked a popular comic strip in an angry dissent, accusing her colleagues of being in the bag for President Donald J. Trump. The left-winger who was appointed by disgraced former President Joe Biden to fulfill his pledge to put a black woman on the SCOTUS has repeatedly shown that she lacks the intellect and temperament for the job with her emotional antics. Not that another example was needed, but Jackson served it up anyway, describing the court’s latest overruling of an activist lower court judge who blocked the ending of DEI-based grants at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as “Calvinball.”

Representative Al Green, who has served Texas’s 9th Congressional District since 2005, will finally leave office. The Texas Legislature, led by Republicans, passed a legal redrawing of congressional maps that effectively eliminates District 9. Green, best known not for legislation but for shouting down President Trump during his address to Congress in March 2025, will be removed from office after nearly two decades of loud, ineffective, and divisive politics. Unsurprisingly, Rep. Al Green called the redistricting racist. But the only racial injustice here is the Democrat Party’s decades-long abuse of district lines to cling to power.

Vance noted how Democrats had aggressively gerrymandered their states over the past 10 to 20 years. It appears that many of Boston's officers are quietly rebelling against the anti-ICE stance taken by Boston Mayor Michelle Wu's (D) administration. According to acting ICE Director Todd Lyons, Boston cops are secretly providing critical information to federal immigration officials to help arrest criminal illegal aliens—a bold move that flies in the face of the sanctuary city policies pushed by Wu and other extremist Democrat mayors across the country. For years, Boston, under Wu’s leadership, has been one of the loudest advocates of the sanctuary city movement. Her administration has consistently refused to cooperate with federal immigration authorities, shielding illegal immigrants from enforcement efforts

President Trump went on a late-night attack against NBC and ABC News on Sunday, deriding them for what, in his view, was "biased" coverage and said he would be in favor of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) revoking their licenses. The Republican president said the news outlets had given him negative coverage on "97%" of stories. It wasn’t clear from where Trump was citing the "97%" figure. A study released earlier this year by the conservative media watchdog group, Media Research Center (MRC), found that coverage of the president’s first 100 days in office was "92% negative."

The answer was not Trump alone. Indeed, irony abounds when Democrats resonate with the claims of the vestigial Never Trumpers that the MAGA movement “hijacked” the Republican Party. In characteristic projectionist fashion, the left is simply falsely attributing to their opposition the very hijacking that hit the Democratic Party. The Republicans are still the party of conservatism and traditionalism. But in the last decade, it adopted an expansionary middle-class agenda that has led to record party registration, its first popular presidential vote victory since 2004, and control of all three branches of government.

More lawsuits, settlements and court rulings led to the entire city and much of the state becoming the site of homeless encampments on sidewalks, streets, freeway embankments, overpasses, underpasses, median strips, parks, parking lots, public plazas, beaches,
