What Made the Democratic Party Go Crazy?

Original Article

Posted By: Moritz55, 8/25/2025 3:30:15 PM

The answer was not Trump alone. Indeed, irony abounds when Democrats resonate with the claims of the vestigial Never Trumpers that the MAGA movement “hijacked” the Republican Party. In characteristic projectionist fashion, the left is simply falsely attributing to their opposition the very hijacking that hit the Democratic Party. The Republicans are still the party of conservatism and traditionalism. But in the last decade, it adopted an expansionary middle-class agenda that has led to record party registration, its first popular presidential vote victory since 2004, and control of all three branches of government.

It used to be the ONLY openly socialist candidate to run and get elected to any major office was Bernie Sanders, now there are a dozen or more, and openly/declared Socialists are bypassing lifelong, incumbent, Dems for party endorsement. Dems took several giant steps Left...and as a result, people are leaving the party for the Middle. The median of the republican party has remained nearly constant, 3-5points further right, the median of the dems has moved 10-12 points left, Both Hillary and Biden were in neck and neck vote races against Bernie, and had to tack left to keep from losing. That was toooo far for working class, blue collar, observant religious, and many traditional Dems.

They thought they had it in the bag with Hillary! in 2016, after a patient century of infesting our institutions with commie moles. But lo and behold, Donald Trump. The left lost all that patience and has yet to get their feet back on the ground, acting out with seemingly perpetual tantrums. Scary and heart-warming at the same time.

My whole life they have leaned socialist. They disguised it as other things, but all the signs were there. But then, after Obama got elected for no reason other than he was 1/4 black, they went completely off the rails; supporting every type of sick weirdo no matter how disgusting or perverted. They haven't looked back and in fact have doubled down. Even the regular democrats have had enough.

I don't think the term "crazy" is at all hyperbole in describing the Democrats in recent years. It's like some strange virus has infected all of them and there is no logical explanation for how loony they have become. It's not just the politically left ideology, which IS logically explained by the massive indoctrination that has been imposed on every level of our education system. It's been taken to a bizarre beyond-political level. Take the whole trans-gender and "gender-fluidity" insanity. One could logically accept some level of empathy in such discussions, but to take it to a point where BELIEF is demanded? And enforced? Even by many government and medical professionals? What the hell happened? And the absurd coddling and treatment and release of violent criminals? And not just wide open borders, but full, preferential, financial support and travel/housing for them? That's not empathy and care, it's insanity. Buh-bye, Democrat Party.

While all VDH says maybe true, the Democrat Party abandoned the middle class a long long time ago. What is making them crazy now is that very few people listen to or believe the propaganda arm of the party any more. A few years ago when people still did believe the fake news the Dems were not so hateful and angry because like children they were getting Their way. Now they strike out at everything they don't understand.

"no logical explanation for how loony they have become" I would suggest it is in the nature of those who inherently identify with radical liberalism. Such people think that THEY alone are entitled to define the future of the Country and when they are resisted, they become like spoiled children who have been told that they cannot have a package of cookies. They respond with rage. Their whole ability to respond rationally is set aside. People that disagree with them are defined as evil and cruel. And it works, to a point. Rational people are stunned by raw emotional attacks that don't make sense and are completely out of proportion to the situation. We, at first, think "If they are that upset, there must be some valid basis for their response. There isn't, but it takes a while to figure that out. And once we have figured that out we dismiss them completely as irrational and absurd. That, of course, incites them to greater extremes as they become disenfranchised. The dems put themselves into this position by continuing to abandon rational discussion and compromise. They HAVE TO win, even over the most absurd issues. They are irrational by nature and their initial successes built their absurd expectations. Their essential nature prevents them from finding real solutions and drives them to ever more craziness. The logical explanation for this is, "It's who they are.", pushed to its logical conclusion. We shouldn't have expected anything different.

Stalin, himself, stated that the purpose of socialism is communism. He viewed socialism is a transitional phase on the path to communism. One cannot negotiate with socialists, to change their behavior, any more than Atticus Finch, the literary "Everyman" protagonist in To Kill a Mockingbird, negotiated with the rabid dog threatening his community and children. He killed the rabid dog with a rifle. While I will not die as a converted communist, I may very well die fighting communism, not in Asia or Europe but in the good ole US of A, thanks to our ever-lurching-leftward democrats and their deliberate, mass importation of third world communists.

For decades the Dems featured smart people - at least in terms of book learning - who played dumb and pandered to dumb people. From FDR to Barack Obama they did a horrible, fake job of acting 'normal' and too many suckers bought it. Dems would allow morons like John Lewis to rant and rave but never really gave them power. Now the party through DEI, sexual depravity and bloodlust have elevated some very dumb people to very high positions as the dumb people attempt to lead smart(er) people. It has been a disaster. And dumb people don't recognize disasters or attempt to change the outcome.

The further you get away from God (abortion, multiple genders, same sex marriage, forced vaccines,.etc.) the more susceptible you are to evil. You cannot serve two masters. You either worship God or you worship power. For example, Catholic Dem politicians know that they must support abortion or they will hold no power in the party. Biden, Pelosi, and other Catholics in Congress chose power over God.

The far keft is going to kill the Democrat party, full stop. When I was growing up at least some pf the Dems seemed halfway respectable. But, in the last 15, 20 years, the far left camel went from sticking its nose inside the tent to full-on taking it over. Some of the politicians considered Republican or right-wing now were basically what we called "Yellow-dog Democrats" back in the day. These days they're losing voters (even from the minority side) because they've gone bats___ crazy - and even their former backers know it. Seems like that "80%/20%" rule is a real thing after all.

France, Germany and the UK launched a 30-day process to reimpose sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program on Thursday, sending a letter stating their intent to the UN Security Council. The three countries only had until October this year, 10 years after they originally lifted the sanctions, as a window where it would be possible to automatically reinstate the penalties, which include a complete embargo on arms sales to Iran. An Iranian deputy foreign minister said earlier on Thursday that Tehran would cease cooperation with the UN's nuclear agency if France, Germany and the UK reimposed so-called "snapback" sanctions that were halted as part of the 2015 nuclear deal.

If ever there were an example of the perils of the Democrat approach to crime and social disorder, it is Minneapolis, ground zero of the George Floyd/defund-the-police movement that roiled the country five years ago, and a “sanctuary transgender state.” The deadly mass shooting of small children at Mass at Annunciation Catholic School Wednesday brings home the tragic cost of a disordered society, where evil rampages unchecked and those who would protect the vulnerable are handcuffed and pushed away. It’s too early to say exactly how, or even if, the tragedy could have been prevented. Yet Minnesota Democrats already have reached for their lazy gun-control mantra,

Democrats in Washington, D.C., are furious — not because violent crime was spiraling out of control, but because President Donald Trump did something to stop it. A new Washington Post-Schar School poll found that roughly 8 in 10 D.C. residents oppose Trump’s deployment of the National Guard. The poll was conducted between Aug. 14 and Aug. 17 and surveyed 604 D.C. residents with a +/- 4.1 percentage point margin of error. This outrage was unsurprising, given that the propaganda press peddled the same narrative in recent days. A quartet of so-called journalists at CNN reported on Aug. 14 that a crowd in D.C. was “outraged by federal law enforcement presence.”

For months, James has paraded her victory over President Donald Trump in her civil judgment of half a trillion dollars. It did not matter that many of us denounced the judgment as grotesque and raw lawfare. Now, however, the appellate court has replaced that mounted Marlin with a mere minnow. It threw out the financial penalty as unconstitutional and unwarranted. Even that downsized catch may have to be pulled down, since Trump can appeal the decision to leave the injunctive relief — including limits on doing business in New York — in place.
