Obama is the New Nixon

Original Article

Barack Obama is the new Nixon. There, I wrote it down and my name is on it. It’s not publicly approved speech yet, but it is no longer the Thought Crime it once was. Many Americans are thinking it. And some, like me, are saying out loud. Barack Obama is our modern Nixon figure. Worse than Nixon, actually. Nixon was considered devious. He was presented as demon by The Washington Post and most of the rest of American journalism as the devil who had to be crushed, his followers subjected to never ending ridicule, his political party was sent on a Walk of Shame.

Comments:

A good article aside from the title. Nixon was never as devious as Obama, and Obama was never as competent or as consequential as Nixon

Nixon figure- maybe. Nixon? No! Nixon was a past master at foreign policy and at heart a decent man. Had the goodness to resign when he saw how his staying on was damaging the country. 0bama is a selfish, shallow, lazy and yes stupid. If he was any good at what he does we would be in far bigger trouble.

No, Obama is way way worse than Nixon could ever be. Nixon still loved this country. Obama loathes with every fiber of his being, the people who are Americans and the history of this great country. It is a great pity that his mother didn't stay in Indonesia the rest of her life with her son, Barry. Our country would have been much better of if she had.

Not even close. Dick Nixon was a patriot. Watergate was a John Dean operation (Google Maureen Biner). Nixon kept his foreign policy credentials and remained an elder statesman for the rest of his life. Obama was and remains a media-created mediocrity, an America-hating traitor. He and Hillary Clinton are the most overrated “intellects” in American history.

So today, in my ongoing quest to visit the graves of all of our dead Presidents and also their Presidential libraries, I visited the Gerald Ford Museum in Grand Rapids. Ford was a man of honor and integrity who had the best interest of the country at heart. He made some decisions during his administration that were intended to move the country forward past the divisiveness of the previous decade. Those decisions were unpopular and cost him the 1976 election, but in the end they did lay the groundwork for better things to come. Compare that to the narcissistic jerk Barry Soetoro, whose actions were intended to divide and conquer and to harm and destroy his political opponents. The sad fact is that due to Presidential immunity, he'll likely skate away from what he's done without punishment. But if there is any justice left, those who carried out his orders will spend a long time behind bars.

I’m proud to say that my first vote in a presidential election was for Nixon in 1972. I was 19 and the voting age had just been lowered to 18. Nixon wasn’t even aware of the Watergate break-in when it happened. His only sin was trying to cover it up. Try to imagine what 0bama has covered up over the course of his entire lifetime.

We decided to digitize our old home movies a while back. When I was a kid in the early 60’s, Dad videoed everything. Really overdid it. One video we watched a few weeks ago was at the LA Airport in 63-64. A guy was standing alone waiting to cross the street into the terminal. Dad called out to him and he turned, gave us a big smile and waved. Dick Nixon. You’ll never convince me that he didn’t get a raw deal.

Evidently John is an ignorant maroon. The left hated Nixon's guts because he nailed Alger Hiss. He was going to be impeached because of the coverup. He resigned and Ford pardoned him because of his possible indictment. I cast my first vote for him in 1968. You had to be 21 to vote in those days. Nixon laid the predicate for winning the Cold War and saved Israel in the '73 war. How could this gafoon see any similarity between him and Barack H. Obama?

President Nixon's problem was the MSM. He was a conservative president. That's what they did to conservative electeds. Except for the Bush's who were basically one of them. We were blessed to go to the Nixon Presidential Library on one of our trips to California. Gerald Ford made a campaign stop in downtown St. Louis by the Old Courthouse. I did an employee newspaper for my job so I walked down there to see him, take pictures and be ready to write an article. I stood not 10 feet from the stage where he was speaking, got wonderful pictures. I don't remember seeing SS around. Also appearing with him was, IIRC, Al Hirt and Jim Arness's brother who was an actor. I don't remember his name.

Nixon was an idealistic putz but he was not the thoroughly bad man that Obama was/is. Barry was the untalented snake oil salesman whose blind ambition was invisible to the dumb liberal half of the country and too thoroughly understood by the rest of us.

At the August 15 Alaska summit, Vladimir Putin performed as expected. He desperately wants an end to Western sanctions, détente with the U.S., and assurances that the U.S. will not impose a disastrous anti-Russian secondary boycott—and, apparently, some additional Ukrainian territory. Consequently, Putin, in his media synopsis, talked more about restored friendship with a “neighborly” United States under Trump. He scarcely mentioned Ukraine directly—other than to imply to Westerners that he seeks not merely to annex a foreign country, but to reclaim what he views as a former Soviet province with ancient ties to the Russian people.

Amid last week's bomb-cyclone news cycle, which included a major summit with Russia and the takeover of the Washington, D.C., police force by the Trump administration, one could be forgiven for missing yet another Russiagate bombshell. Gather round the campfire, children, and let me tell you a scary story about the annual ritual humiliation known as the Presidential Fitness Test. Long before SoulCycle, the social internet, and the everyone-gets-a-trophy ethos that allegedly remade millennials into a generation of coddled, spherical slobs, the youth of the nation were summoned each spring to the school gymnasium and put through the rigors of seven exercises designed to measure our strength, our stamina, and our flexibility. Sit-ups. Pull-ups. Push-ups—knees down for the girls, full planks for the boys. Until, finally, we were herded out the rear of the gym, down a back

In February 2016, Donald Trump scandalized Republican Party elites at a CNN town hall event in Columbus, Ohio, when he dared to call George W. Bush’s invasion of Iraq “a big fat mistake” and “the worst decision any one has made, any president has made, in the history of this country.” Trump’s assertion infuriated GOP insiders not because it was clearly mistaken or even easily disputable, but because it was all too true. The high ground has always held strategic and tactical importance—from mountaintops in ancient battles to the orbital vantage points of today. China and Russia are rapidly accelerating their space and lunar ambitions. Both are seeking scientific, economic, and national security breakthroughs that could shift the balance of power on Earth. The President’s budget calls for an eventual pivot away from NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS)—leaving the heavy-lift rocket business to a capable commercial industry. That pivot should be toward something no other agency, organization, or company is capable of accomplishing: building a fleet of nuclear-electric-powered spaceships and extending America’s reach in the ultimate high ground of space.

The last thing I heard before my ears started ringing was my left turn signal clicking. I was stopped at a red light on a Saturday afternoon, waiting to glide into my parking lot near the Waterfront Metro stop in Washington, DC when a loud crack suddenly deafened me. It wasn’t a windy day, and no cars had been passing by to kick a loose stone up at my beloved Camry, so it only took me only a half-second to realize what had happened.
