Those Marxist Democrats

What will the Democratic Party’s 2028 platform look like? The way things are going, no one should be surprised if it looks like a manifesto written by a couple of bitter, revolutionary 19th-century Germans. Marxism is no longer on the Democratic Party fringe. It is taking it over. We see this in the unpleasantness of Zohran Mamdani, the recent winner of the New York City mayoral primary. The callow Mamdani describes himself as a “Democratic Socialist.” Fact-checkers, who seem to never fact check the incessant claims by the media and Democratic politicians and operatives that President Donald Trump and other Republicans are fascists, say he’s no communist.

Dems are evil but we should not count on them being stupid. Their platform will hide their true intentions.

I hate to rag on young people, but they have no idea or are ill-informed about what socialism and communism are. I've heard many, including one of my sons, say, "Oh, this is a different kind of socialism, not like the bad kind other countries have tried". Everything sounds wonderful to them and it's mostly because they've graduated from college with huge debt, everything thing is expensive and the idea of buying a house seems impossible. Free stuff sounds wonderful. It's almost like this was planned. Hm-m-m.

I predict a campaign platform as drawn up by a committee of: Karl Marx, Saul Alinsky and Charlie Manson. RE: young people: give a man a loaf of bread, he'll eat for a day. Chain him to a plow, and you'll eat from now on. Debt is a tool of enslavement. Of course the Left encourages it.

Reply #2 is right on with his analysis. Most university students don't take history or poly sci courses any more. If they read at all it's not a history of the Soviet Union or a biography of Karl Marx. Ignorance is bliss. History has to repeat itself every few generations. God help us all!

President Donald Trump’s bold move to take out Iran’s nuclear arms program and broker a ceasefire between Iran and Israel seems to have worked, at least so far. But while a large share of Americans believe the ceasefire won’t hold, the majority are taking a wait-and-see approach, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll indicates. The online national I&I/TIPP Poll of 1,421 adults was taken from June 25-27, mere days after the June 22 U.S. military attack to cripple Iran’s nuclear facilities. I&I/TIPP asked respondents the following question: “Do you believe the recent ceasefire between Israel and Iran will lead to lasting peace in the region?”

All the attention being thrown at New York’s mayoral primary race, won by socialist Zohran Mamdani, raises broader questions that deserve answers. Why do voters keep electing Democrats responsible for so much urban decline and decay? What will break the left’s stranglehold on our once great cities? Is the situation simply hopeless? Of the nation’s largest 20 cities, only two have Republican mayors – Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas. Republicans hold the mayorships of just 25 of the 100 largest cities. And that number is down from 30 in 2020. More mysterious is the paradox that, despite the fact that blame for empty stores, rising

A United Nation’s report issued last month calls for the criminalization of spreading “disinformation and misinformation” about global warming. Is it the desperate act of a dying crusade – or business as usual for the climate fanatics? While our hope is the former, it’s more likely the latter. According to Elisa Morgera, the U.N. special rapporteur on climate change, governments should “criminalize misinformation and misrepresentation (greenwashing) by the fossil fuel industry” as well as “criminalize media and advertising firms for amplifying disinformation and misinformation by fossil fuel companies.”

The headlines this week have blared about how pride in America has plunged under President Donald Trump. But the Gallup Poll driving all these stories paints a very different picture from the headlines. What the data actually show is that, not only did pride among Democrats plunge this year, it has been falling for them over the past 23 years – even when the sainted Barack Obama was in the White House. In Obama’s first year in office, 78% of Democrats said they were “extremely or very proud” to be an American. But by his last year in office, that share had dropped to 68%. Not surprisingly,

For most, July 1 is nothing more than just another rectangle on the calendar before a major holiday. In California, it has become a day of dread – the day gasoline prices jump because of another fuel tax hike in the state that already punishes its drivers with the highest prices in the nation. Lawmakers passed, and then Gov. Jerry Brown signed, Senate Bill 1 in 2017. Known as the Road Repair and Accountability Act, it was Sacramento’s promise that the state’s cracked, potholed, car-busting and outdated streets, highways and bridges would be fixed. All that had to be done was tax California motorists enough to generate $52 billion

It has been amusing to watch Democrats struggle to cope with the success of 33-year-old socialist Zohran Mamdani’s decisive win in the New York mayoral primaries. Why all the handwringing? Mamdani is now the mainstream of the once great Democratic Party. The only difference is that Mamdani isn’t afraid to say what other Democratic politicians try to hide. Think about what Mamdani has proposed or supported: • A yearlong freeze on rent • A $30 minimum wage • Free bus service • City-owned grocery stores • Defunding the police • Calling Israel’s war in Gaza a genocide. “Mainstream” Democrats support every one of these positions

President Donald Trump’s eventful presidency continues to leave most Democrats and independents unimpressed, but he gets top grades from Republicans, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. Can he build on recent policy successes to improve his standing with non-GOP voters, or will Trump’s strong personality, offhand remarks, and bold leadership style alienate them? Each month, I&I/TIPP asks voters to gauge presidential favorability, leadership, and performance. In the just-finished national online poll of 1,421 adults taken from June 25-27, Trump’s grades from voters remain little changed.

Faced with the failure of their policies, far-left and outright socialist Democrats in blue-state America are doubling down. Whether it’s New York, California or midwestern leftist havens Minnesota and Illinois, the socialist model will bring only more failure and misery to its citizens. And, because they voted for it, they’ll get what they deserve. We’re not gloating here. The Democratic Party was once a serious political group that based its popularity on appealing to centrist blue-collar working-class Americans and moderate urban liberals. The extreme left was largely, though not entirely, marginalized. Today, that’s sadly no longer true.

Zohran Mamdani, winner of the Democratic Party’s New York City mayoral primary, is overflowing with Marxist ideas of how to govern that are so lousy that it’s hard to believe he got more than his own vote in Tuesday’s election. Each of them is horrendous, from free bus services to rent control to punitive taxes on those who create prosperity, but none are quite so laughable as his proposal to establish a chain of city-run grocery stores. Mamdani’s campaign literature – overflowing with empty leftist jargon – says if elected he “will create a network of city-owned grocery stores focused on keeping prices low, not making a profit.”

You can imagine the guffaws and hair-pulling from the Trump-is-Hitler crowd at the thought that anyone would see him as a suitable candidate for this prize. Late on Tuesday, we had another missive from the mists of the Supreme Court’s shadow docket—an unsigned opinion that confirmed for the moment the president’s right to clear-cut the entire administrative structure of the executive branch’s agencies and departments. From The Guardian. Extending a winning streak for the US president, the justices on Tuesday lifted a lower court order that had frozen sweeping federal layoffs known as “reductions in force” while litigation in the case proceeds. The decision could result in hundreds of thousands of job losses at the departments of agriculture, commerce, health and human services, state, treasury, veterans

No justices dissented, and the court did not provide a written opinion explaining the order. US District Judge Kathleen Williams, an appointee of former President Barack Obama, blocked Florida from enforcing the new law in April.

On Sunday, Yemenis, commonly referred to as Houthis, attacked a ship called the Magic Seas, a Greek-owned vessel, in the Red Sea. The pirates attacked and captured the Magic Seas: It is thought the Yemen-based terror group initially attacked using a swarm of boats, small arms and rocket-propelled grenades. They then used kamikaze drones. Having seized control of the bulk carrier, the gunmen simultaneously detonated multiple charges around the ship’s hull, causing it to sink. The crew abandoned ship after being accosted by the pirates and, I believe, were rescued. The Yemenis released shocking, and highly sophisticated, drone-shot video of their attack. The sinking of the Magic Seas is stunning: (X)

Progressives love unions. Not only do unions protect workers, they say, unions gave us the weekend and the middle class. I say, capitalism created the middle class. Employers, competing for better workers, gave us the weekend. But whatever you think about capitalism, few people question the claim that unions help workers. But I will. It's the focus of my new video. A couple years ago, the Teamsters demanded more pay from UPS. Seemed like UPS could easily afford it. The company made almost $13 billion in 2021. UPS used some of that money to hire more union workers. Then they offered them raises. But Teamster boss Sean O'Brien wanted more. He threatened a strike.

ISRAEL says some of Iran's highly-enriched near weapons-grade uranium stockpile survived US bombings during the 12-Day War last month. Doubts remained about whether Iran quietly removed 408.6 kgs of uranium from its most sensitive sites before the strikes - potentially hiding nuclear material elsewhere in the country. The uranium in question is enriched to 60 per cent - way above levels for civilian usage but slightly below weapons-grade. That material, if further refined to 90 per cent, would theoretically be sufficient to produce more than nine nuclear bombs. An Israeli official told The New York Times some of the uranium stockpile survived the US and Israeli bombings last month
