Winning Bigly: Tariff Receipts Top $16
Billion in April

No, we're still not tired of winning yet. The numbers are in, and we learned on Monday that April's income from customs duties - mostly tariffs - is breaking records, topping $16 billion. That is, as someone once said, a big freaking deal. Receipts from U.S. tariffs hit a record level in April as revenue from President Donald Trump’s trade war started kicking in. Customs duties totaled $16.3 billion for the month, some 86% above the $8.75 billion collected during March and more than double the $7.1 billion a year ago, the Treasury Department reported Monday.

Possibly a bigger cause of the Civil War than slavery. When Lincoln was told that the South would secede, he asked "What will become of my tariffs"?. Most of the northern ports were ice bound in winter and the wooden ships of the day couldn't safely enter. The southern warm water ports could still be used. No income tax then so a huge financial blow to the North.

The US (under Trump) has always been willing to play on a level field. Any country in the world can export to the US with NO tariff if they can offer a similar deal to US goods and services. Remember - similar does not necessarily mean identical. MSM headlines suggest that these tariffs are unilateral, disproportionate and unfair. We must keep that in mind.

This is very good news. I recall how the dems puffed up about how great Bidinomics(sp) and this is more than doubled that which makes it more than a little embarrassing for them - always a good thing. It provides good evidence that Trumponics is working. President Trump doesn't have control of the checkbook. That belongs to the House. If there is a failing in the use of the money that's on the Republicans we elected. President Trump has done a fantastic job in bringing expenses under control, and, yes there is much to do, but what he has done so far makes this a big win and indicates it is unlikely that it will be wasted in frivolous spending. I agree OP, more winning!! Another brick laid in the building of the - no more income tax - house?

Completely wrong, #5. Tariffs help protect industries in the USA who are required to comply with some useful, many meaningless and harmful EPA, and other federal regulations which cost a LOT to comply with and decrease competitiveness compared the third world hell holes with far, far lower labor, health care (any?) and regulation costs. These companies employ middle class Americans. Most small manufacturing businesses pay a lot of taxes, and their employees contribute greatly to the country in hundreds of financial and other ways. Tariffs protect AMERICAN jobs.....and the country benefits greatly. Inescapable facts beat economic BS theory every time.

Here's your next BTW when talking with libs. The economy last year was $27.7 Trillion. That's about $2.3 Trillion/month. Tariffs last month were $16 Billion? That's .0065 of 2.3 trillion. 0.65%. If inflation is more than that (it isn't), it ain't the tariffs. If YOUR price has increased by more than that.... But American.

Democrat Rep. Shiri Thanedar (MI) has introduced a resolution to force a chamber-wide impeachment vote against President Trump. Thanedar introduced “his impeachment resolution as privileged on Tuesday afternoon, meaning leaders have two days of the House in session to take up the legislation,” per Fox News. No House Republicans have signaled support for the measure, and leaders could potentially keep lawmakers from voting on impeachment at all. When deeming his resolution privileged, Thanedar said the president “has unlawfully conducted himself, bringing shame to the presidency and the people of the United States,” while calling the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) a “flagrantly unconstitutional creation.” Democrats have not backed the impeachment resolution,

The rate at which President Trump is moving his agenda forward and taking executive action is astounding. Trump is regularly accomplishing in one week what a White House used to be satisfied with accomplishing in one month. This past week is a perfect example. There's petty...and then there's party. The Democrats, as much as they may be in disarray of late, are nothing if not pros at lock-step voting, and they've shown that once again, blocking the confirmation vote of President Donald Trump's nominee as Ambassador to the Vatican. Trump announced he would nominate CatholicVote president Brian Burch for the role in late December. In early May, Burch cleared the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations on a party-line vote, setting up a vote by the full Senate. In the meantime, Pope Leo XIV was named as the successor to Pope Francis, and his installation is set for this weekend.

The days of rogue district court judges hijacking executive authority may finally be numbered. On Thursday, the Supreme Court is set to hear arguments in a consolidated case, Trump v. CASA, which challenges lower court rulings that blocked President Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship for children born in the U.S. to illegal immigrants. Despite the constitutional authority granted to the executive branch on immigration matters, three district judges issued sweeping nationwide injunctions halting the order. Now, the highest court may have the chance to rein in judicial overreach and restore balance between the branches of government. Since President Trump began his second term,

It echoes the imperial narrative Putin himself has long advanced: that modern Russia is the rightful heir to the entire Russian Empire[snip] Crimea was never part of Russia, and the Russian Federation is not a successor to the entire Russian Empire.

In the weeks surrounding President Trump’s inauguration, America’s propaganda press relentlessly cited leftist claims that 15,000 trans-identifying individuals would be booted from the military under the new commander-in-chief. The insinuation, of course, was that such a move would harm “military readiness” and the country’s national security. In a statement to The Federalist, a Defense Department official said that, as of February, there are “approximately 4,200 Active-duty, Guard and Reserve service members currently serving diagnosed with gender dysphoria” throughout the armed forces. The total is roughly the same that was announced by the agency in February.
