While it is certainly good news that Congress is finally waking up to the dangers posed by the “Censorship Industrial Complex,” last week’s hearing of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution didn’t sufficiently address one of its most insidious aspects. Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.), the Subcommittee Chair, did a good job of outlining the threat it presents news outlets that refuse to parrot corporate media propaganda. Unfortunately, neither Sen. Schmitt nor his articulate witnesses devoted anything like enough attention to the capture of our public education system by the censorship regime promoted by the nation’s two largest teachers unions.

If it weren’t for the fact that it is Democrats doing it, it would almost be shocking that there is so much opposition to the efforts of Mr. Trump, through DOGE, to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government. What person, in their right mind, could possibly be against having THEIR tax dollars used wisely, not wasted on frivolous, unnecessary projects, or just flat being abused by unscrupulous politicians and bureaucrats? The Trump administration filed an appeal with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit after U.S. District Judge Benjamin Settle “issued a preliminary injunction putting on hold the military’s new policy of identifying and discharging any transgender service members,” according to Reuters. In its appeal of Settle’s ruling, the Trump administration asked the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit “to put the ruling on hold,” according to the outlet.
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Tuesday she is directing prosecutors to pursue the death penalty for Luigi Mangione, the young man suspected of fatally shooting UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in December.
