WATCH: Sen. John Kennedy Destroys Nationwide Injunctions

Original Article

By now, you know that I’m a big fan of Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) and his unmatched ability to dismantle weak arguments with his signature Southern wit. On Monday, during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, he was at the top of his game, systematically exposing the complete lack of legal authority for district judges to issue universal injunctions — a favorite tactic of the left to block President Trump’s agenda. Questioning Assistant Attorney General nominee Brett Shumate, Kennedy systematically dismantled any justification for these sweeping judicial orders. "Mr. Shumate, what's a universal injunction?" Kennedy asked.

Excellent! Now take it before the USSC!!

So the District Judges can't do it --- but they are. So who is going to stop them, and when? Will there be any consequences for issuing illegal injunctions? When will these questions be answered?

Why abide by the injunction? Where is the enforcement arm of the judiciary? If the injunction is ignored, what is the judge going to do? Buy a bigger gavel? Go on a hunger strike? Pound sand?

In this age of rage, it is common for people to become the very thing that they despise in others, jettisoning their most cherished values to strike out at those they hate. Since the election, Democrats have shown that very self-destructive quality of rage in adopting anti-immigrant, anti-free speech, anti-labor, and even anti-environmental positions to get at Donald Trump or his supporters. It consumes every part of a person. It is addictive, and it is contagious. What these rage addicts will not admit, however, is that they like it; they need it. That was evident this week in New York,

Senate floor stunts proved a less than useless salve for sinking approval as they epitomized the Democratic Party’s “pathetic incoherence.” “Oh my goodness gracious, you just can’t get it worse than these numbers.” With all the drama of Shakespeare, New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker (D) embarked on a marathon speech to kick off the week, surpassing 25 hours of “sound and fury signifying nothing.” The political theater was followed by a self-congratulatory media tour that proved Spartacus the ultimate April Fool as new polling data found his party sunk to a new low with a mere 21% approval among voters.

Joshua Zermeno enlisted in the Air Force in 2010. After a few years of serving as a B-52 strategic bomber mechanic, a previously earned mechanical engineering degree provided the opportunity to apply to Officer Training School (OTS). Finishing number two in his class, in 2015, he was then assigned to fly the RC-135, a reconnaissance aircraft.
