John Lennon: Musician, advocate...closet Republican? The singer's former assistant claims in a new documentary that Lennon was a Ronald Reagan fan and a conservative at the time of his death. The Toronto Sun reports that Fred Seaman, Lennon's assistant from 1979 until his death in 1980, made the revelations in the documentary "Beatles Stories." "John, basically, made it very clear that if he were an American he would vote for Reagan because he was really sour on Jimmy Carter," Seaman reportedly told filmmaker Seth Swirsky.

This has been known for a long time. It's funny that when someone isn't asking for a handout they become a Republican.

The fact that anyone would be a "closet" Republican tells you a lot about the corrosive liberal culture in which we live.

"Taxman" (leadoff song from the Beatles' 1966 album Revolver) was written by George. Interviews with Lennon in his last few years showed him settling into domesticity and common sense after the four wild years following the Beatles' breakup. It's a tragedy that he was taken from us so soon.

"Imagine" was drivel, and most of us know that. The members of Steely Dan knew it too, and panned it at the time on the flip side of their single for "Reelin' in the Years"... the flip was called "Only a Fool Would Say That"... and it was aimed squarely at Lennon. But I hope we'll also remember that Lennon was the guy who wrote (in "Revolution" circa 1968's White Album) that "If you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao, you ain't gonna make it with anyone anyhow!" That doesn't sound the sentiment of a committed commie to me. By 1980, Lennon was a full-time stay-at-home dad to a 5-year old kid (Sean), and I'm sure most people know that having kids is a great fast-track to maturity on social and political issues. Just sayin'... BTW, I hope all of us have not forgotten that December 8, 1980 was the day of Lennon's murder, so we're at the 44th anniversary of that tragic day. RIP.

#13, we also need to remember that just a couple of months later, President Ronald Reagan was shot and that his attempted murderer and ultimately the killer of James Brady, now walks free while Chapman is still in prison.

In an interview on “Meet the Press,” President-elect Donald Trump outlined his plan for immigration policy, emphasizing deportation for those in the United States illegally. Trump expressed a commitment to removing illegal immigrants, starting with those who have committed crimes and expanding to others without specifying which crimes would be prioritized. This approach may also involve U.S. citizens choosing to leave with family members who are undocumented. Trump’s stance reiterates a key aspect of his campaign platform. He also suggested terminating birthright citizenship via executive action, forecasting potential legal opposition.

A judge ruled that the US Navy can keep racial preferences. Marxist DEI is alive and well in the Navy. Meritocracy is dead if this isn’t overturned. Donald Trump and his Cabinet can’t get into office soon enough. US Senior District Judge Richard D. Bennett of Maryland on Friday allowed the US Naval Academy to keep considering applicants’ race and ethnicity in its admission practices, calling the issue a matter of national security. Usually, meritocracy is the best way to protect national security. We should have the best candidates in our Navy.

A Virginia realtor is facing the possibility of having his license revoked over social media posts as concerns mount about the status of free speech for those working in real estate and other professions. Wilson Fauber, a Staunton, Virginia-based realtor with a career spanning four decades, appeared before the Virginia Association of Realtors on Wednesday in a hearing to determine whether he violated the National Association of Realtors’ Standard of Practice 10-5. Adopted in 2020, the standard declares that realtors “must not use harassing speech, hate speech, epithets, or slurs based on race, color, religion, sex disability, familial status, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity.”

A federal judge on Wednesday dismissed January 6 defendant Ray Epps' year-long defamation lawsuit against Fox News, ruling that Epps failed to "state a claim." Epps, who some conservatives had speculated was an undercover FBI agent sent by the bureau to stoke the January 6 riot in 2021, filed the lawsuit last year, claiming that an indictment from the Justice Department might not have surfaced against him if it wasn't for Fox's coverage. The January 6 defendant also argued that Fox News and former host Tucker Carlson engaged in a "years-long campaign spreading falsehoods about Epps."

President Joe Biden delivered a short address from the White House on Sunday, claiming credit for the toppling of the regime of Syrian dictator Bashar Assad, who was ousted by rebels after a long and brutal reign lasting decades. Biden claimed that a combination of U.S. policies — isolating Assad; tying Russia down in Ukraine; and allowing Israel freedom of action against Iran and its Hezbollah proxy — weakened the regime and left it without defenders. Biden said: Over the past four years, my administration pursued a clear, principled policy towards Syria. First, we made clear from the start that sanctions on Assad would remain in place unless
