Massive Chinese Cyberattack Is a Disaster

Using a security loophole that allows the US government access to anybody's electronic traffic, Chinese hackers gained access to an unknown quantity (perhaps all) of internet traffic on American networks. In an exclusive report in Saturday's Wall Street Journal the secret breach was revealed. Good thread too: The attack SOUNDS like the hackers could potentially have access to everything that crosses certain networks by using backdoor access that the US government mandates to permit wiretapping when authorized by a warrant.

It is worth noting that the opponents of the law creating the backdoor warned of EXACTLY this scenario when the law was being debated. To be precise, they said that malicious actors, up to and including foreign governments with ill intent towards the United States, would use this backdoor to steal secrets. I know they did so because I was one of those who said such things.

There was a time when this country had the courage to call this intrusion for what it is; an act of war! The Chinese government has been in a Cold War with us for decades! We have been willfully blind due to the economic influence that china has over us! Congress is hopelessly corrupt and the government is controlled by the One World Government cabal! This is not going to end well for the United States!

I have long known that fluoridating water was a terrible idea, but I have been reluctant to write or even discuss this fact with people because the expert consensus was that anybody who opposed it was a kook. Remember this scene from Dr. Strangelove? It perfectly encapsulates the attitude of "experts" and the people who believe them about those who questioned fluoridation: they are insane. The American Public Health Association says: Community water fluoridation is recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as one of the 10 great public health achievements of the 20th century. Hezbollah said Tuesday it is now ready to engage in cease-fire talks with Israel, after suffering serious blows to its leadership and ranks in recent months. The terror group in Lebanon made the announcement after firing more than 100 rockets at the Jewish state hours earlier. Hezbollah’s deputy secretary general, Naim Qassem, publicly endorsed a truce with Israel, the first such time the terror group has proposed a cease-fire not conditioned on the war in Gaza. “We support the political efforts led by [Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih] Berri under the banner of achieving a cease-fire,” Qassem said, according to a CNN translation.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed on Tuesday that Hezbollah’s intended replacement of its former leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed late last month, has also been "taken out." "Today, Hezbollah is weaker than it has been for many, many years," Netanyahu said in a message tailored directly to the "people of Lebanon." "We’ve degraded Hezbollah’s capabilities, we took out thousands of terrorists, including [former Hezbollah leader Hassan] Nasrallah himself, and Nasrallah’s replacement, and the replacement of his replacement."

Political pundits mercilessly mocked Vice President Kamala Harris’s performance during a 60 Minutes interview Monday after she delivered false, incoherent, and rambling statements. The interview represented one of the first times she sat down for a serious, unscripted interview since joining the race, with a host that asked honest questions. Harris has not sat for many local interviews in battleground states, and she has mostly avoided the national press and conducted zero press conferences. During the 60-minute interview, Harris was asked how she would pay for increased spending. She responded by arguing billionaires will pay for it.

Justice Samuel Alito wrecked the government’s defense of the ATF “ghost gun” rule during oral arguments Tuesday by asking if eggs and peppers are an omelet. Breitbart News reported that the case is Garland v. VanDerStok, and it is focused on ATF Final Rule 2021-05F. A central part of this rule was redefining what the word “firearm” means so as to designate “partially completed pistol frames” and other gun parts as “firearms.” Justice Alito asked about “components” and the way they are defined in relation to a “weapon.” He asked, “Here is a blank pad and a pen. Is this a grocery list?” The government answered no, citing

Florida will have at least 37,000 linemen at the ready — and perhaps a few thousands more — as Hurricane Milton barrels toward the west coast, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Tuesday morning. He made the promise while delivering an update at the State Emergency Operations Center in Tallahassee. “Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall on the west coast of Florida sometime between Wednesday evening and early Thursday morning,” DeSantis said, noting that the storm has moved a bit slower than initial projections showed. Regardless, the governor — who is widely heralded for his efficient response to hurricanes — warned Floridians to not get “wedded to the cone,”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has President Joe Biden’s personal phone number, the president told reporters Tuesday as Hurricane Milton approaches Florida’s west coast. Biden’s statement undercut Vice President Kamala Harris’s apparent attempt to appear presidential to voters. On Tuesday, an unnamed aide to DeSantis told the establishment media that the governor refused to take a call from Harris about the storm, allegedly because the governor believed the vice president was only calling for political reasons. However, DeSantis denied Harris had called him at all.

New Zealand’s navy has suffered its first peacetime ship loss since World War II when the $100 million multi-role support vessel HMNZS Manawanui ran aground off the southern coast of Upolu Island, Samoa, caught fire and eventually sank—triggering an environmental disaster in the process. In its decision, the Grand Canyon State’s high court rejected a challenge seeking to have votes cast for Proposition 140 voided after a lower court special master disclosed that 37,657 pairs of signatures gathered in support of the measure were duplicates. As previously argued by the Arizona Free Enterprise Club (AZFEC), the finding “place[s] Proposition 140 thousands of signatures under the constitutionally required signature threshold to qualify for the [November] ballot.”
