Some thoughts on the attempted assassination of former president Donald Trump. First, regarding the Secret Service. It is all well and good that the agents at the scene reacted as trained and instantly covered and shielded the former president with their bodies, willingly accepting the possibility of being mortally wounded in the interest of protecting Donald Trump. However, that type of response indicates an abject failure of the protective mission. It seems that only a providential head turn to the right saved Donald Trump’s life.

The comment from Jamie Gangel of CNN is beyond the pale. I hope people stop buying her husband’s books. At one time he wrote wonderful novels but became a staunch member of the Hate Trump cult. Sad.

Mayorkas and Kimberly Cheatle, at the very least, should be fired immediately. She is still in hiding and the border is still wide open.

The chicken dung secret service didn't even attend the news conference later that day to answer questions. The police who did attend kept answering to reporters' questions with, " That's a question the SS will have an answer to", or " that's under the SS jurisdiction". It's clear the secret service was trying to avoid answering the question as to why that building was not manned by agents or police officers, or any other questions until they could come up with a BS response.

Poster #2, NOBODY gets fired in this ridiculous mal-administration. NOBODY, it doesn't matter how incompetent, ignorant or useless they are, they keep their jobs and many times get a promotion. Bidens claim to fame? ''We're soooo diverse!''

I am hesitant to blame the Secret Service personnel who where there. I think it was because they were understaffed, thanks to Trump-haters in the Biden administration. Failure to protect the opposing party's chosen candidate for President is the biggest threat to "our democracy" imaginable and I blame Biden.

#1. The writer's response to Gangel was priceless. "I guess she would have liked Trump to turn the other ear."

So much to understand. Aside from the fiasco of not securing the rooftop, it is evident that this was not a snap, Saturday-morning plan. The perp, if acting alone, pulled off a massive project.

The fact is the female Secret Service agent in front of the podium was too short to shield the President, which is one reason you don't pick agents based on some idiotic DEI plan. We should all be asking for the resignation of the nitwit who thought that was a good idea.

The whole assassination attempt on Trump was a set-up. The Secret Service is not that incompetent.

Immediately after the shooting, as the SS guided Trump into the vehicle, there were three short pony-tailed female Secret Service agents by the side of the SUV who looked very amateurish. Their actions were disorganized, constantly moving and looking around with no discernible purpose and appearing confused. Also, the female SS who was one of the agents who guarded Trump onstage as he stood up was brave but too short to supply his head any real protection from another shot that could have come as he fist pumped. No matter how brave, motivated and well-intentioned they might be such people are not adequate.

I'm starting too hear comments and read articles that per the USSS, local police handle security outside their assigned area/perimeter so pretty easy to blame the local police who in small towns like Butler are NOT as well trained as (one would expect) USSS agents and officers and also that local police are not security professionals in the sense of setting up perimeters, ingress/egress points, etc. I haven't heard one show host on either Fox or Newsmax or local talk radio (wmal.com) ask any of their guests who claim a security background just who ultimately controls the entire event; inside and outside the perimeter? One would think the USSS is the controlling command authority and directs the local police what to do/not to do, etc., but alas, today's news hosts just babble on when a simple question would suffice. argh

USSS chief Kimberly Cheatle was recruited from Pepsi, not even the best cola (as Kurt Schlichter writes in a nearby post). DEI is her thing. She won't be in that job for much longer. Ten, nine, eight, seven, ....
