Explosives were found in the car of would-be Trump assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks after he was killed in a failed attack on the former president during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, according to multiple reports.
Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania was identified by the FBI as the man responsible for shooting Trump and numerous rally attendees in Butler, Pa. The shooter’s car was parked near Trump’s rally, and police dispatched bomb technicians after receiving multiple reports of suspicious packages, the Wall Street Journal first reported.

But the feds didn't look for a man with a rifle on a nearby roof. If this is true, he's just the guy to be 'groomed' to do the deed.
Is the Brooklyn bridge still for sale?

The header title - Would-Be Assassin - is journalism at its worst. There is absolutely NO doubt that the dead guy clutching the long rifle on the roof of the building the Secret Service ignored is in fact the shooter and that the headline author is either a Demwit or Woke or both. Whichever they're totally unaware of Truth.

How did the killer get anyway near the event with a rifle in his hands? This needs to be seriously studied. This assassin had some insider help.

Makes me wonder if he had an accomplice. It took a lot of effort to plan this all out.

Trump did not "fall to the ground", he ducked down as he was certainly trained to do by SS. "Fall" implies a lack of conscious effort or control, and it is not accurate.
And "explosives"? Gasoline? or propane? Dynamite? TNT? Many times these clowns call propane bottles and gas cans' "explosives". Maybe a pipe bomb. I'll wait to find out what sort of things they are meaning.

Now where did he get explosives? What kind of explosives? Ones that might need, say an FBI undercover man, setting up a sting, could provide?
I think a lot of the 'mass shootings' in the US are sociopathic little nut balls on anti-depressants with an FBI handler. It's a win-win. The FBI can stop them and get credit. Or the FBI can let them act, and lay blame on whatever issue they want. Gun Control, anyone?
Who was he talking to? Where sis he get the gun? Where did he get the explosives (I'm assuming here they weren't merely fireworks) Why did no one lock down the roof when witnesses first saw the gunman? Why was Trump not IMMEDIATELY evacuated, before the guy could get off a shot?
If Trump had died, it would have sparked off Civil War. Anyone known to be a liberal would have a target on their back simply because the rest of us know they can't be trusted with AMERICA!

Makes no sense. What , his backup plan was to lure Trump to his van promising candy and puppies? Or they were going to somehow aid in his escape?

Who found the explosives? It couldn't be the SS. They couldn't even find a guy with a rifle climbing up on a roof and taking shots at President Trump!

He is a "would be" assassin because he did not succeed (unless he was trying to kill the person behind President Trump.
Were "numerous" rally attendees also shot? I thought it was two but with that many shots into a crowd seemed like more were probably hit.

Let’s stop referring to the lunatic as a “would be assassin” and call him what he is - a killer. One person is dead, two are critically injured and by the grace of God, DJT survived. I

The FBI dies set people up. I know this. They found a young man with mental issues and convinced him he could kill Trump. They forgot to tell him the part about they would kill him afterward so he couldn't talk. I am stunned at the part of the video where the short woman, supposedly covering his front, left the entire front part of his body uncovered for seconds while she searched for her sunglasses. His entire front was wide open!

With my Al Coa hat firmly in place, the "explosives" were likely a plant by the sanctioning agency just in case the shooter got cold feet or managed somehow to get back to his vehicle.

The lack of specifics about the shooter is amazing 24 hours after the fact.
1. Was he employed or in college?
2. Did he have any friends? Has anyone interviewed them?
3. What did the father do for a living? The mother? Any brothers or sisters?
4. Why haven't journalists gotten any specific details?

Sincere question. I am not unfamiliar with the terrain and neighborhood.
Hours ago, I read elsewhere that Crooks van was found parked over 1/2 mile from the shooting site. I wonder how a man carrying a rifle walks that distance toward a political rally w/o being noticed?

Re #19. He could disassemble the rifle in to two pieces, max length 24.5 inches by pushing out
two captive pins with fingers. The shooter in the Greenwood, Indiana mall shooting which was rapidly stopped by a young man Eli Dickens with his personal CCW handgun. Many larger backpacks will hold an item 24.5" long. Just a guess, but a quick way to make it shorter. Reassembly would take a minute or less.
And, interestingly, this is what Lee Harvey Oswald did with his Italian rifle, although he had to unscrew the stock, but this shortened the two pieces a lot. He then wrapped them in brown paper and explained them as "curtain rods" as he carried them into his workplace.

FTA - "Attorney General Merrick Garland said on Saturday the FBI, ATF, and numerous other law-enforcement offices will be investigating the shooting."
This sounds too much like the fox guarding the henhouse.
Meanwhile, time will tell if Crook's father is charged with anything. Supposedly storing firearms and explosives at home where Crooks could help himself seems pretty weird. Perhaps the father had plans of his own but told his kid to take care of it? Time will hopefully tell a fuller story.
And to get a firearm like this inside the perimeter of a presidential rally completely unnoticed is most odd. Who was looking the other way and how could Crooks have expected they would be looking the other way.

#5 got it right. Trump went down as his training kicks in. Add to this, the snipers that took out the shooter were not Secret Service. They were local law enforcement. You may notice in big white letters on the back of their uniforms saying (POLICE)

Why is the possibility that the shooter and/or accomplices had cached the weapons prior to the incident, perhaps weeks earlier? How thoroughly did the SS search the location before the rally? Going further--because what previously seemed too far is no longer far enough--did the SS collaborate--deliberately over-looking the sniper's nest in it's search?
Finally, I find myself comparing this shooting with the Los Vegas sniper attack on attendees of a an outside concert in 2016. The parallels are interesting: the method, the remote position, the mysterious background of the assassin, the inaccurate reporting, the convenient death of the perpetrator, & the conclusion that he acted alone.
Jack Cashill, could you pick up the courtesy phone?

I agree with poster #1...there's more involvement by the government in this assasination attempt...the fact that this villain.... was so close on a roof is questionable...how did he get on the roof and where did he get the ladder....and was he reported to the FBI prior to this attempt?
