What if the U.S. had been told to stop
fighting Japan during WWII, the way Israel
is being told to stop fighting Hamas?

No matter its stated reasons, no matter how misguided its policy, the United States administration, advised by its historically anti-Israel Department of State, is putting severe pressure on Israel to stop fighting Hamas in Gaza, without permitting it first to achieve its war aim of complete destruction of this threat to its existence. They are doing it without regard for the consequences to Israel, its population, and to the Western world.
Given the arrogance of the Biden administration’s dictating a suicidal wartime policy to an allied government which must answer to its own people,

America stopped winning wars when they started bringing the MSM and lawyers to the battlefront.

One of the ways wars stop is when one side or the other exhausts its resources. Either in terms of money, materials or lives it eventually has to run out. Only it doesn't. Now with modern alliances they never have to worry about running out of anything. And the war goes on forever. And the defense contractors and politicians live high on the hog while their people are ground into hamburger.

MSM and lawyers should be used to clear minefields. Best use.

Israel has a lot of prisoners. at some time they will have to turn those prisoners loose.
They will go back to Gaza and despite all promises of peace they will plan another uprising.
Israel can beat them back, but they will never disappear.

No need to speculate.
Vietnam. Iraq. Afghanistan.
Imperfect examples on several levels, and all misguided wars, but we "lost" them all, even with a "non-woke" military.
The next one will be much worse.

The problem with that reasoning is that those who ask Israel to stop fighting are looking at her as Japan the aggressor rather than the US.

Everybody hated Japan back in 1942 because of their surprise attacks that killed thousands and their rape of China that saw good people slaughtered like animals. Japan had no friends but Hamas has thousands of useful idiots to love and support them. The difference? Please see the Koran.

It's important to note that when Obama's underlings were considering what to do about UBL (who had been located in Abbottabad), the only one who opposed taking out the al-Qaeda chieftain was VP Joe Biden. Everyone else in the room said, "Whack him." Biden is a worse CIC than even Carter because he loves America's enemies more than he loves America.

Outstanding analogy, right on target. And, by extension....anyone suggesting the USA stop its aggression on Japan back then would have been (correctly) labeled a Nazi/Axis sympathizer, and enemy of America and the Allies.
Therefore...anyone suggesting that Israel stop its retaliation on Hamas is anti-semitic, and sympathizing the genocide that Hamas perpetrated on Oct 7, 2023, and an enemy of human civilization in general.
IMO, that is an apt description of Islam in general, but will save that for another rant.

In our Nation's history, it was fairly common for high-ranking military officers (Generals and Admirals) to become politicians, most famously starting with POTUS #1, George Washington. During the long, bloody Vietnam War, we saw the rise of politicians acting as if they were - or had been - generals. LBJ, who was briefly a Naval Lt. Commander during WWII, but saw no combat, later chose, or otherwise approved or rejected targets to be struck in Vietnam from the Whitehouse, and we saw how that war turned out. Nixon was a Commander during WWII, in the Navy Reserve, without combat experience. 24 years later, he orders the invasion of Cambodia in an effort to shut down the North Vietnamese main supply line to South Vietnam, the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Our last president with actual combat experience was GHW Bush, 41, a Naval Aviator in the Pacific during WWII. Bush flew 58 combat missions, piloting an Avenger torpedo bomber into the teeth of Japanese anti-aircraft fire that knocked him out of the sky twice.

Israel needs to o what they need to do for their ultimate survival, and pay no attention to any world leaders who don't have their interests at heart, including the United States.

Does the author mean like the way we were asked to stop fighting the North Korean Communists in the 1950's and then to stop fighting the North Vietnamese Communists in the 1970's. So, we DID stop in both cases, and yeah, we saw how those nations worked out, huh?
