I’m not going to narrate what you can witness with your own eyes and ears. The camera lens is pointed toward two U.S Secret Service protective detail snipers on the roof behind President Trump. One is the spotter. Turn on sound. You can clearly see both USSS spot the shooter, do nothing, wait for the incoming fire, then respond.
Again, video might not last. WATCH: (video)We will soon hear, “mistakes were made.”
The FBI is investigating. (image UPDATED SECRET SERVICE STATE,MENT)

The counter snipers on the roof are not the problem. The actual problem is why was the shooter able to reach his open sniper position in the first place?

SS is run by dame who is a dem. SS asked for support because they are understaffed. It was denied. Now the FBI is 'investigating'. Right. They need to be on the spot to remove any evidence that might lead back to some party that does not like President Trump. Or who might have made a deal so that this awful event could take place. Let's not forget the gutter dem party is not in very good shape.

Guessing the SS was expecting other agents to intercept the shooter. They only acted when the shooter started shooting.

Courage of the Secret Service? Bravery of the Secret Service? Efficiency of the Secret Service? Give me a break. The fact that some kid was able to climb up on a roof within essy sniper range in full view of everyone and The Secret Service did not have drone coverage proves they are just the federal version of the Keystone Kops, with the ineffable irony being Pennsylvania is known as the Keystone State.

The SS failed President Trump and the country today. By the grace of God President Trump survived, but it had little to do with the competency of the Secret Service. As I watched the rally, i was shocked but not surprised. It has been obvious that the left has been priming the assassination pump with their over the top rhetoric. Sooner or later some nut case or stooge encouraged by one of our alphabet agencies would do the deed. Thankfully, God had other plans. As far as what happens in the next few days, i doubt it will be uniting. Democrats have blown this attempt but it won’t stop them from attempting it again.
Many eyes were open today. People understand exactly what President Trump is up against and I would counsel the left to not attempt this kind of madness again. Americans are in no mood for their evil shenanigans. President Trump needs our prayers. He is standing out there alone knowing full well the danger he is in urging Americans to join us and fight for this Republic. This will be a turning point in this election and I am convinced that democrats have failed miserably in their attempt to eliminate President Donald J Trump today. However, there is always tomorrow. Pray for this country and the safety of President Trump. If today tight is anything it is that democrats will do anything to retain their power. Let’s see just how many of them cease to use the violent rhetoric that has been commonly used when they speak about Preaident Trump. Only God can keep him safe from these maniacs.

Apologize for second post.
Correction the sentence should read: If today taught us anything it is that democrats will do anything to retain their power.

Who were the politicians, mostly Democrat with a few Lincoln Project types, who were calling for all Secret Service portection to be taken away from PDJT? Who the hell were they? They don't need a third degree, but a fourth degree. They want to kill President Trump. And eventually, us. Time to pay.

I'm no sniper (of people anyway), but even I, a really old fa*t, could make that shot with iron sights (no scope, and I wouldn't have used a .223 rifle, btw). And the Secret Service didn't have anyone on that rooftop??? I had an office on the 6th floor of a building several hundred yards from where the president (at that time) was making an appearance. The WHOLE BUILDING (at least that part with a view of the presidential appearance) was ordered vacated, and there were SS people on the roof. The question has to be asked: was this just laziness of the SS, or intentional dereliction of duty, ordered from the top?

Breakdown in security. Who's in charge? Kimberly A. Cheatle must answer questions about the breakdown. From the photo, there's a direct line to 45's speaking platform. Why was this area not covered? What went wrong? Heads should roll. And Dementia Joe lit the fuse.

"Can anyone explain?" Why, yes I can. All police, military members and even the SS must follow extreme rules of engagement from their wussified management that cause delays in reaction time and can have their careers ruined by one mistaken shooting. Even snipers in hostile enemy territory are required to have spotters that positively identify targets as being real threats to the lives of others in the area and the enemy's weapon must be visible and pointed in the direction of a target. This abundance of caution and oversight has allowed women and children with explosive vests to approach our soldiers and blow them up. Imagine if the SS people shot some farm kid who was hunting groundhogs from a rooftop. His career would be over and he would be put on trial for murder. It was not incompetent SS it is incompetent government.

I have no faith the FBI will do an honest investigation. The way they conducted themselves at Mar a Lago was sick. They also had the ok to use deadly force if need be. Pres Trump was lucky he wasn' there. The only targets they had was his staff and lawyers. so that couldn't be carried out.

My take on the video is that the SS spotter saw the gunman a fraction of a second before the first shots. I don't blame them, they did their job by taking the guy out. I blame whomever was in charge of planning the security.
You don't leave a line of sight access to the person you are guarding. I heard a former SS agent say that in the past, such access was blocked by mobile structures, such as large portable lights. The head of the SS should resign or be fired.

In regards to Reply 17’s last sentence: “The head of the SS should resign or be fired.”
I read from elsewhere the head of the SS is a DEI female hire with very limited qualifications for the job.

What I'd like to know is who was the individual who refused more SS protection? Was it Homeland Security, the same one who refused RFK SS security? Whoever it was needs to be fired.

Clearly the SS sniper saw the shooter with a rifle through his sights. For some reason he pulled his head up to look without the sights, before Trump's reaction to being shot. Then he went back to his sights to take his kill shot.
The plan was for Trump to end up dead, but God had another plan.

I believe those are both police snipers on the roof (not a spotter), and they're probably both from the local police SWAT team. I don't believe they're Secret Service. The one guy kneeling with the tall tripod didn't have himself braced and it looks like he lost his balance - not good. The other guy is in a solid prone position and able to make the shot, and probably was the one who did. What took these guys so long to shoot? Were they not cleared to take the shot by some diversity hire on-site commander? In this business anyone crawling around on a roof with a rifle is immediately "neutralized." This was a disgusting performance on the part of the Secret Service.

Having been a SWAT team leader at one of our Nation's large, busy international airports, and having worked with SS protection details at least a dozen times, my first impression after being called inside to look at the "news" by my wife, was "these aren't secret service agents; they're actors..." My next impression was that even a rookie police trainee SWAT operator from Mayberry would have instantly recognized the threat posed by the building upon which the sniper perched, less than 1.5 football fields distant from Pres. Trump's podium. Plus, the bullet proof pony-wall, running along the front of the stage was absolutely open on its flanks, providing maybe 2 or 3 degrees of protection, at most from a shooter posted on Trump's right flank.
By the way, SS and other federal agents in operational mode typically wear their heavy exterior body armor with POLICE patches velcro'd to their vests, mainly because they often work with local and state police agencies and it is more universally recognized by the LEOs and the public. I do not suspect a widespread conspiracy among SS agents; however, one individual in the on-site chain of command would have been in a position to facilitate assassination. Never, in multiple SS detail engagements in which I participated, did the SS deviate from sniper/spotter teams, with the spotter using a very high powered spotting scope and typically armed with an H&K .308 battle rifle for close-in protection, should the sniper team be spotted by their adversaries. In that vein, NEVER did I observe SS sniper teams that were clearly visible to the crowd or casual passers-by. The arrangement behind the podium appeared intended to get at least one of the SS sniper team members shot.

Were the US Secret Service officers required to follow some Alejandro Mayorkis inspired rules of engagement that required them to wait to fire on suspected criminals until after the criminals unlawfully fire their weapons first, before they could return fire in response?
