A few thoughts on the attempted assassination of President Trump last night limited to ten bullet points:
• Ernest Hemingway famously defined courage as grace under pressure. President Trump displayed grace under pressure last night. Mr. President, you made us proud.
• It was just Donald Trump who dodged a bullet last night. We all dodged a bullet. The anger and chaos that would have followed his successful assassination are unimaginable. Thank you, Lord for sparing us the ordeal.
• It was moving to see the Secret Service agents in Trump’s detail immediately jump in to protect him with their bodies. As an organization, however, the Secret Service had better

This is not the column I intended to post today.
However, the column I did intend to post contained one paragraph relevant to today:
“Don’t be surprised by anything that happens in this marathon, jumbled presidential campaign.”
So, surprised we are not in this angry, turbulent period of U.S. history that someone or some group tried to assassinate a former president seeking to regain the job from its current occupant.
As the Babylon Bee reported:
Party that called Trump ‘Hitler’ for 8 years shocked as someone tries to assassinate him
If I was still in the daily newspaper business today, I’d likely be writing some kind of news analysis or reconstruction now.

To those who have been following American politics closely over the past decade, the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump is not a shock. Even the most cursory of glances at the political division in this country could tell you that this was a matter of when, not if.
When Trump first came on the scene announcing his intention to run for president, Democratic politicians and members of the activist media did their level best to portray him as the second coming of Adolf Hitler and his supporters as modern-day Nazis. The effort to paint the right as a pernicious threat to “democracy” has not abated since 2016.

As if you needed another thing to worry about in the midst of the ongoing Biden crime crisis, the FBI is warning that a new trend has been developing among the criminal class. It's being called "jugging" and authorities warn that it is spreading rapidly, particularly in Baltimore and across the rest of Maryland. The practice involves aspiring thieves stationing themselves near ATMs or outside of banks and watching for people who may have made cash withdrawals to finish their business. Then they approach them, typically brandishing weapons, and rob them of the "jugs" of cash that were withdrawn. The Bureau reported more than twenty such incidents in

I’ve long been fascinated about the mystery of the murder of Seth Rich on July 10, 2016 and on the anniversary of his death it’s time to update what we’ve learned about it. As to George Clooney and his decision to withdraw his support for the reelection of President Biden, there’s much more to the story, in my view.
Seth Rich
Two years ago, I summarized what we knew of Rich’s mysterious murder.
"Seth Rich was a DNC staffer who was mysteriously murdered on July 10, 2016, in Washington, D.C. after having been shot twice in the back. None of the valuable items in his possession seem to have been stolen.

If you haven’t taken the Alcatraz tour, the next time you have some free time, escape to San Fransico and make the trip to “The Rock.” In 1979, Clint Eastwood starred in a movie, aptly called “Escape from Alcatraz.”
Frank Morris, John Anglin, and his brother Clarence made their escape in 1961 using an ingenious ruse – they fashioned plaster heads to resemble the inmates sleeping in their beds. They fashioned a wooden paddle and rubber life vests, and on June 12, 1961, they made their escape – never to be seen again. Did they survive the mile-long swim to Angel Island? The water in the Bay is cold, often really cold.

There is a common denominator to nearly every person who advocates for more gun control: They know little to nothing about firearms or gun ownership.
It seems that every time one of these people expresses their anti-gunner views, they inadvertently expose the fact that they have no knowledge of what they speak.
I came across some responses to an article published by The Atlantic related to the police’s substandard reaction to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas school shooting in Parkland, Florida. Several of the responses criticized the officers’ lack of response as the gunman murdered children and teachers. But one of the responders made a rather bizarre argument:

Who are these Democrats, these partners in crime with the mainstream media that reject truth and revel in lies, deceit, and vulgarity? They act shocked, shocked that Biden hid from them his mental state and his inability to carry out even a normal work day. He walks around in public in a sort of trance, trying to understand where he is and what he is supposed to do, and they act as if everything is normal. We have a president who invited a transgender three-ring circus to the White House grounds, where they pranced about nearly naked. Our president is unable to accept the dreaded 3 a.m. phone call because

On Friday, President Joe Biden met with members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. The proceedings did not go the way he would have wanted, with at least one lawmaker directly calling for him to drop out of the race.
The Zoom meeting reportedly got off to a rocky start and limited questions lawmakers could ask. "For starters, Biden showed up an hour late to the Zoom call, according to a source familiar with the meeting, and it didn’t get much better from there.
Organizers of the Zoom meeting had said only two members were allowed to ask questions — Reps. Sylvia Garcia and Lou Correa — but Biden

The last embedded myth about Joe Biden is that he’s a decent man. Like the rest of his life’s story, his “decency” is a made-up contrivance.
Biden has a habit of abusing the dead to his own end. Biden’s first wife Neilia and infant daughter died in a car crash. Neilia Biden was holding their daughter while driving. The accident was entirely her fault. She had a stop sign that she either blew through or didn’t check left and right before proceeding. The Biden car was broadsided by a truck driven by Curtis Dunn. It didn’t take long for Joe to blame Dunn, who was immediately

Joe Biden's press conference was a disaster on a lot of levels not the least of which was that he revealed how he was all about his own self-interest. Look at this video from a leftist point of view. He's saying that even if knew that Kamala Harris would do better than him against former President Donald Trump, he wouldn't get out of the race unless he knew he couldn't win — and he claimed no one was telling him that. (X) My colleague Jennifer Oliver O'Connell reported how against the facts that claim was — that many polls were showing the trouble Biden was in.

To be sure, there is much to fear from the Democratic-Industrial Complex. In the ensuing months, it will resort to all manner of tactics on every front to ensure a Progressive win in November. That, of course, is not headline news, but conservatives should also keep in mind that old horror movie trope, "The call is coming from inside the house!"
And the Senate.
I have to wonder how much of one's soul one must mortgage to go to Washington, D.C., as a Republican, only to get slapped around on a daily basis by Democrats and still be willing to do their bidding or at least lay low
