Chicago police, the Secret Service, and other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies sound confident that they're able to handle any protests that occur at the Democratic National Convention in August.“With two months left until the convention, we’re finalizing plans and making sure all of our operations are safe,” CPD Superintendent Larry Snelling told reporters at a press conference on Thursday. “Make no mistake, we are ready. The partnership, collaboration, and open communication between everyone involved is why we are ready.” “We’ve got a tremendous working relationship with Chicago police, as well as a multitude of other agencies, both local and federal, that will be contributing

It does appear that the mass of assembled police officers are trying to get ready for the forms of protest of yesterday. It really is too bad that they are not there to stop gun violence, raids on the miracle mile stores, rampant drug use

I'd kind of like to see them control the riots like they did in Soylent Green...that would be a chuckle...in any event, I think I'll lay in some extra popcorn...hah wonder if they have had any 'open communication' with all the protest leaders...afterall, the leaders are probably working with them anyway...

That is just leading up to and through the convention days....Chicago will also have $10's of Millions to later be paid to Hundreds of protestors in compensation monies, regardless of what the cops do to them, or why the cops do it. It won't even have to go through the courts, the Chi-Town Politicians will jump at the chance to make the "Settlement" offers.

With all of the law enforcement focused on the DNC Convention, will that leave the rest of Chicago vulnerable (or even more vulnerable than usual) to the vermin who rule the streets there? Will there be flash mobs on the Miracle Mile? Will tourists visiting the lakefront, Navy Pier, Chicago Cubs & White Sox games, museums, shops, and restaurants become victims of unfettered street crime? What about the usual shootings every weekend? Will the regular trouble spots turn into shooting galleries during the convention due to lack of police? Can't wait until the Convention!

The move follows warnings from NATO leaders earlier this year urging Western governments to prepare themselves for a full-blown war with Russia sometime in the next 20 years. The newly established troop expressways would see American soldiers landing at one of five designated ports. They would then be deployed along pre-established routes depending on how a potential attack by Moscow would play out, NATO officials told The Telegraph.
