slew of rules on the environment and other priorities

Washington— As he tries to secure his legacy, President Joe Biden has unleashed a flurry of election year rules on the environment and other topics, including a landmark regulation that would force coal-fired power plants to capture smokestack emissions or shut down. The limits on greenhouse gas emissions from fossil-fueled electric stations are the Democratic president’s most ambitious effort yet to roll back planet-warming pollution from the power sector, the nation’s second-largest contributor to climate change. The power plant rule is among more than 60 regulations Biden and his administration finalized last month to meet his policy goals, including a promise to cut carbon emissions that are driving climate change

The EPA is one of the greatest destructive forces ever unleashed on mankind. The EPA must be dramatically disempowered, dramatically downsized and permanently restricted from creating their own regulations.

#3, perhaps someone rich could challenge the constitutionality of the EPA. I've yet to find that kind of authority given to the fedgov in the constitution.

A grand jury indicted Alvarez this week on one count each of Aggravated Rape of a Child with 10 Year Age Difference and Rape of a Child by Force. President Trump on Saturday taunted Jack Smith after the special counsel asked Judge Cannon to ban the former president from criticizing law enforcement over the DOJ’s deadly force authorization for the FBI’s Mar-a-Lago raid. Jack Smith late Friday night sought a gag order barring Trump from criticizing Biden’s rogue DOJ/FBI. The names of the armed FBI agents involved in the Mar-a-Lago raid were redacted but Jack Smith is trying to illegally gag Trump anyway. “The Government moves to modify defendant Donald J. Voters worry more about President Joe Biden’s inflationary and open border policies than former President Donald Trump’s abortion policy, Cook Report/BSG/GS Strategy Group polling confirmed Thursday. The polling appears to confirm that Trump’s immigration and economic messages sabotage and undermine the attraction of Biden’s most popular 2024 issue, health care, and thus essentially diminish Biden’s political appeal. Abortion is a state issue, Trump’s policy essentially dictates, while Biden believes it is a federal issue. Biden holds higher approval marks on the question of abortion, but his approval of abortion does not outweigh Trump’s popular economic and immigration policies, the poll found.

A left-leaning outlet quietly removed Republican Sen. John Kennedy’s (R-LA) op-ed from its newspaper because of so-called “inflammatory” language. USA Today took down a published article written by Kennedy on protecting women’s sports from transgender athletes, claiming that his column did not meet the paper’s ethical guidelines. Kennedy said he was made aware that his op-ed, titled “Is transgender inclusion more important than women’s sports?” was removed from the company’s sites until he was informed of broken links to the article.

OPELIKA, Ala.— On the second floor of a single-family home in a sprawling suburban development, a three-member production crew sat behind banks of computer monitors and guided the conservative Right Side Broadcasting Network’s coverage of a recent Donald Trump rally. RSBN’s show director, whispering into a microphoned headset, instructed the camera operators and on-air correspondent how to shoot the scenes as Trump basked in the crowd’s adoration. Otherwise, the room was quiet. The screens, all muted, were playing live footage of Trump pointing, waving and gesticulating. There was no need for sound — the director and producers have covered so many Trump rallies they seem to instinctively know

How might we change the premise of Social Security to make it fully funded, more equitable, and sustainable indefinitely? Social Security is societal insurance, not an individual retirement plan. It’s intended to protect individuals against income loss due to retirement, disability, or death. It supports disabled individuals, survivors, and children and reduces poverty. Social Security protects taxpayers across American society. Without Social Security, millions would face poverty, straining families and state and local governments, increasing inequality, and destabilizing the economy.

Earlier this week, the ICC’s prosecutor, Karim Khan, accused Mr. Netanyahu, Mr. Gallant, and three Hamas leaders—Yehya Sinwar, Mohammed Deif, and Ismail Haniyeh—of war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip and Israel after the conflict erupted between the two in October 2023. She threw a fit about it, trying to say he was there because he had to be in New York for the ridiculous lawfare against him, not realizing what she was essentially admitting about election interference.
