Senate Investigation: BMW, Jaguar, Volkswagen
Imported Cars and Parts to U.S. Made with
Chinese Slave Labor

An investigation from the Senate Finance Committee revealed that a few European-based automakers imported either cars or auto parts made using Chinese slave labor to the United States. The investigation, published Monday, was led by Chairman Ron Wyden (D-OR) who accused automakers of “sticking their heads in the sand and then swearing they can’t find any forced labor in their supply chains.” In January of this year, the investigation discovered that a shipment of Volkswagen vehicles made for the U.S. market included auto parts deriving from a Chinese supplier presumptively using slave labor and thus banned by the federal government under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA).

in the Chi-Com lexicon "slave labor" simply means people are very happy in their work, regardless if it's oppressed labor "slave labor" or voluntary "slave labor" the are enjoying the fruits of the benefits an oppressive government gives them every day and dedicate their lives to Chairman Mao, forever

Isn't everything made in China made from cheap/slave labor. Slave labor is relative. Somebody making $8 an hour could consider that slave labor. Yeah, I want to pay through the nose for everything I buy. I want basic things to be so expensive that only the uber rich can buy. Ron Wyden is another fool in power. Government regulates everything, costs go up, value and worth go down. Government is so great we're trillions in debt. Reduce government to the bare minimum and revisit this bare minimum every five years. You know it will get out of hand with greedy, power hunger incompetents, and it won't take more than five years.

Why single out these particular industries? Every major appliance, piece of electronic gear, computer, cell phone, kitchen device, clock, battery-powered toy, medical device - everything sold by Wal Mart and other big box stores has been made by slave labor in China. Our industries have been moving manufacturing to China, with US Government approval, since the 1980s. The Chinese have slaves doing forced labor right here, the garment industry in New York, many restaurants, etc. Nobody had a problem with it until China became strong enough to threaten us.

Despite what we have been taught, history has shown that slavery is good business. A great many economies depend on it. Yes it is inhuman, but that never stopped a company from using it. Before we all get bent out of shape over it, look outside and see what happened when we freed ours.

I had to be alert and on the job at 7am for 40+ years. Some might consider that slavery. But it paid the bills.

So very disappointing to see many here applaud the inhuman practices of our old guard Republicans and Chamber of Commerce types. Shipping American jobs overseas in exchange for cheap goods at an inhuman price is what I have come to expect of our overlords, not so called "conservatives"...

Biden only put 4% of the tariffs that Trump put on China. It is, as usual, a phony play to get elected because he is against China.

Proposed Ohio bill would charge teachers,

A Republican-led bill just introduced in the Ohio House would charge teachers and librarians with a felony offense for distributing material deemed “obscene.” The problem is, the bill does not explain what materials would be considered obscene, despite laying a fifth-degree felony on the feet of teachers and “public school librarians” who may possess or share such material. State Rep. Adam Mathews, R-Lebanon, put forth House Bill 556 last week, a bill that would “create criminal liability for certain teachers and librarians for the offense of pandering obscenity,” according to the language of the bill.

The Biden administration filed a lawsuit against Oklahoma on Tuesday challenging a new law that allows local authorities to arrest migrants who are in the state illegally. Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt signed local House Bill 4156 into law in April, which makes it a crime to enter Oklahoma without legal authorization to be in the US. The Justice Department, which has sued Texas and Iowa over similar measures, argued that the legislation is unconstitutional.

Many families are struggling with rising monthly expenses. For families with children in diapers, extra costs are really hard to manage. According to the National Diaper Bank Network, 92% of families receiving diapers in Tennessee are working and still are unable to afford an adequate supply of diapers. Fortunately, a new benefit for families with TennCare could be coming at the perfect time. It was just announced that the state's Medicaid program will start covering 100 diapers a month for newborns, infants and 1-year-olds. "They're expensive, so this is going to be a huge, huge break," said Doug Adair, president of Nashville Diaper Connection.

Major EU ports are almost full to capacity with Chinese electric vehicles (EVs) that no one wants to buy. A slump in sales across Europe has caused parking lots at the Belgian ports of Antwerp and Zeebrugge to fill up with the Chinese imports. The parking lots are each able to accommodate about 130,000 vehicles and are crammed full of MGs, BYDs, Nios, XPengs, Lynk & Cos, Omodas and Hongqis, among others. Chinese EV companies have aggressively targeted European markets as they look to take advantage of the EU's green agenda.

Amal Clooney played a key role in arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. If her name sounds familiar it is because she is the wife of actor George Clooney. She advised the International Criminal Court (ICC) in favor of issuing the warrants. The fact that Israel is accused of crimes against humanity when it is fighting for its survival against the internationally recognized terror organization that massacred Israelis and others on October 7, 2023, is unbelievable. Equating Israel and Hamas is unacceptable. How would any reasonable person argue that Israel is the same as Hamas unless that person was an anti-Israel, anti-Jew antisemitic?
