An investigation from the Senate Finance Committee revealed that a few European-based automakers imported either cars or auto parts made using Chinese slave labor to the United States.
The investigation, published Monday, was led by Chairman Ron Wyden (D-OR) who accused automakers of “sticking their heads in the sand and then swearing they can’t find any forced labor in their supply chains.”
In January of this year, the investigation discovered that a shipment of Volkswagen vehicles made for the U.S. market included auto parts deriving from a Chinese supplier presumptively using slave labor and thus banned by the federal government under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA).

Graceland, the former home and burial site of the legendary Elvis Presley, is set to be sold off at a foreclosure auction this Thursday.
According to a legal notice published this month, Graceland and surrounding land on Elvis Presley Boulevard will be auctioned off for cash to the highest bidder at Shelby County Courthouse on May 23, as per WREG-TV News.
Elvis' granddaughter, actress Riley Keough, 34, who is the current owner of Graceland, is challenging the sale with a lawsuit, claiming it is 'fraudulent.'
A temporary restraining order on the sale was issued on Monday, as per Keough's attorney, and an injunction hearing is set for Wednesday.

Major EU ports are almost full to capacity with Chinese electric vehicles (EVs) that no one wants to buy. A slump in sales across Europe has caused parking lots at the Belgian ports of Antwerp and Zeebrugge to fill up with the Chinese imports.
The parking lots are each able to accommodate about 130,000 vehicles and are crammed full of MGs, BYDs, Nios, XPengs, Lynk & Cos, Omodas and Hongqis, among others.
Chinese EV companies have aggressively targeted European markets as they look to take advantage of the EU's green agenda.

Former Chrysler and Home Depot CEO Bob Nardelli warned that the fault lines of the economy are "about ready to crack" on Monday, adding that the Biden administration's alleged policy missteps could leave a cumbersome mess for the next person who sits in the Oval Office to clean up.
"What I've seen over the past three-and-a-half years is that a series of debacles and missteps have created a tremendous pressure on the fault lines of our economy, and they're about ready to crack," he told FOX Business' Maria Bartiromo.

An alarming study has spotlighted how 42 million food stamp recipients spend their welfare handouts on ultra-processed junk food.
Coca-Cola, Sprite and other soft drinks are the most commonly-bought items via the $135 billion-a-year Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), a new study says.
Candy, potato chips, frozen pizza, ice cream, cookies, and other ultra-processed food dominates the top 20 items, says a report from the Economic Policy Innovation Center (EPIC).
Report author Matthew Dickerson says recipients spend 'spend significant portions of their allotments on junk food.'

Salman Rushdie was a longtime opponent of Israel. Despite being targeted by Iran for The Satanic Verses, a book that the Islamic revolutionary regime deemed blasphemous and being sold out by fellow leftists for “provoking” Muslims, the Pakistani ex-Muslim opposed the Jewish State and supported the terrorist cause.
Now in an interview with Bild, a German publication, Rushdie, who suffered a Muslim terrorist attack in America (funny how quickly the media moved on from that) that left him without one eye, had some thoughts on the Hamas campus riots.

Two Republican lawmakers are trying to strengthen an existing Ohio law by requiring — instead of just allowing — school districts to create a policy letting students to be excused from school to go to released time religious instruction.
State Reps. Al Cutrona, R-Canfield, and Gary Click, R-Vickery. [SNIP]
“The correlation between religious instruction, schools, and good government are embedded in our constitution,” Click said in his written testimony. “You will notice that HB 445 does not establish which religion but merely acknowledges the opportunity for religious instruction. This opportunity is open to all faiths.”

Former President Donald Trump said there is “probably a good chance” he will announce his vice presidential pick at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in July. Generally, presumptive nominees announce their running mate in the weeks or months leading up to the convention.
“I don’t say anything is 100%, but you’re getting pretty close,” Trump said when asked by Scripps News political correspondent Charles Benson if he will wait until the high-profile event, which takes place July 15-18.
Waiting until the convention to announce a running mate is rare, but it could provide a major splash during what has become a mostly predictable four-day event.

The Communist regime in Cuba has a long history of terrorism, and not just the Marxist kind either. [SNIP] Cuba and Iran have long-term relationships with terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah, and a decades-long hostility toward Israel, a U.S. ally in the Middle East. Since Oct. 7, Iran and Cuba have publicly backed Hamas and refused to condemn its terrorist attacks against Israel. Hamas is also receiving support from Beijing and Moscow.

After weeks of pro-Hamas campus riots, Robert Spencer, the director of Jihad Watch, was due to speak to the UCLA chapter of Young Americans for Freedom with a talk titled “Why Everything You Know About Palestine is Wrong”.
Going in, we knew that UCLA would do everything possible to stop the talk even as Hamas supporters were holding Nakba Day ceremonies commemorating the failed Muslim effort to exterminate the Jews. [SNIP] While the doors were supposed to open at 5:30 PM, they were instead locked. UCLA wanted the event to go somewhere else, anywhere else, after threats and lies from terror supporters.

Footage has revealed how thieves in California are stealing copper-filled cables from Tesla charging stations.
Viral video shared on TikTok by Joshua Beckler shows the aftermath of a recent theft at a Tesla Supercharger station in Vallejo, California.
The nine stations are seen without any of the cables attached to them as Beckler shows the core of the heavy duty cable, which is clearly rich in copper, whose value has soared in recent years.
The incident happened sometime over the weekend before it was reported to Vallejo police on Sunday morning.

The food stamps scheme used by 42 million US residents has become too widespread and costly and hooks recipients on welfare, new research shows.
The conservative Economic Policy Innovation Center (EPIC) in a report urges Congress to pare back a ballooning program by requiring more beneficiaries to work when they can.
The study comes amid mounting challenges for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which helps low-income families buy groceries, snacks, and non-alcoholic drinks.
