Former Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade said Sunday that his extramarital affair with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was “as American as apple pie.”
Wade told ABC News that “workplace romances” like his relationship with Willis “happens to everyone” in his first interview since his resignation from working on the Georgia election interference case against presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in March. “Workplace romances are as American as apple pie,” Wade told ABC News’ Linsey Davis. “It happens to everyone."

Harvard's commencement speaker, media CEO Maria Ressa, published an editorial that compared Israel after Hamas's October 7 terrorist attack to Nazi Germany and accused the Jewish state of "targeting" news reporters in an "unprecedented attack on journalist safety."
Ressa, the CEO of the Philippines-based news site Rappler and a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, will give the university's commencement address on May 23, at a time when Harvard faces a congressional investigation for what House Republicans have called a "failure to protect Jewish students" and as anti-Semitism has surged on college campuses across the country.

Can they face the music?
A frustrated fundraiser is looking to hire a mariachi band to incessantly serenade the anti-Israel encampment at the University of Pennsylvania — and supporters are donating to the idea in droves.
The protesters occupying the Philadelphia campus’ College Green are reluctant to converse with outsiders, according to CNN — but have no problem shouting their ideals for all to hear, according to fundraiser Rob Martinez.
“I believe these protestors (sic) should be serenaded for their efforts, just as they have constantly serenaded my efforts to study for finals with a megaphone and drum set,” Martinez wrote on his GoFundMe,

California lawmakers are considering a bill that would give preference to African American applicants seeking occupational licenses, for such professions as teaching, nursing, counseling, electrical work and others, especially those who are descendants of slaves. (snip) Under current law, only veterans are eligible for such prioritization.
Mr. Gipson argued in the analysis that if such priority can be granted to veterans, similar standards should be applicable to African-American applicants. (snip) The bill, which will now be heard in the Assembly’s Appropriations Committee, passed the Assembly’s Business and Professions Committee on a 13–2 vote last week.

A West Virginia judge granted a preliminary injunction allowing several middle school girls to compete after the school district banned them from competition after refusing to play against a biological male, according to 12 WBOY, a local media outlet.
Five middle school female athletes forfeited their positions at a track meet in April after they were informed that they would have to compete against a biological male, prompting the school district to allegedly bar the girls from future competitions, according to WDTV News. At the United Methodist Church’s 2024 General Conference, which has so far been a wokefest of heresy and blasphemy and where they overwhelmingly vote to repeal a longstanding ban on LGBTQ clergy, the denomination gathered around for an un-rousing rendition of the “hymn” Creator of the Intertwined.’ (snip) "The song of peace is sung by all;

United Methodists repealed their church’s ban on LGBTQ clergy in a landslide 692 votes for and 51 votes against at their General Conference Wednesday with no debate, The Associated Press (AP) reported.
The repeal removed the church’s rule that expressly forbade “self-avowed practicing homosexuals” from becoming ordained or appointed as ministers, The AP reported. The vote also reportedly repealed a ban on same-sex marriages, allowing clergymen to perform LGBTQ wedding ceremonies without repercussions.

The Supreme Court heard arguments Tuesday morning in the case of Fischer v. United States, one of the many criminal cases arising out of the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol. Like defendants in a large subset of those cases, Joseph Fischer was charged, among other offenses, with obstruction of an official proceeding under 18 U.S.C. 1512(c)(2). Fischer’s case in the Supreme Court challenges whether the events of that day can be prosecuted using this obstruction statute. Most of the justices seemed dubious, or at a minimum concerned, about the Department of Justice’s very broad interpretation of the statute

An 82-year-old trans-identifying male inmate in Kansas, currently serving three life sentences for killing and sexually abusing multiple women in 1969 and 1970, has filed a lawsuit demanding to be allowed to live amongst the female prison's general population. Thomas Lamb, who goes by Michelle, has been kept isolated from female inmates due to the nature of the crimes committed, and conduct in prison.
