Judas Iscariot was one of Jesus’s 12 Apostles.
In the Garden of Gethsemane the night before Jesus's crucifixion, Judas betrayed Jesus to the Sanhedrin who eventually arrested Jesus.
Jesus predicted this betrayal during the Last Supper. In exchange for his treachery, Judas received thirty pieces of silver. Could he have also been threatened? Who knows? The Bible says nothing about that.
Modern day betrayals, particularly of leaders, occur via carrot or stick, reward or kompromat.
For Judas, the price was a pocket of silver coins. For members of Congress, the price may be a do-nothing board seat, a cable news gig, or stock options worth millions.

Trump should tell this grandstanding woman to stop. She’s doing more harm than good.

Somebody should tell Speaker Mike that you dance with the ones that brung you.
Or...you could confess in public to whatever blackmail "they" have on you.
We know its a rigged game,so stop playing us for suckers...

OT, but we have another Judas in our time. Judas Pence. See Sundance's article recently about Henry Cuellar. They all do it.

No. Mike Johnson is the traitor. I don’t understand why Trump stands by these obvious Swamp Creatures like Johnson or McCarthy.

Just another writer trying to stir up some readership. It's all speculation --- backed by what? By three quotes. From where? The Guardian. USA Today. NBC; Don't get caught up in his non-credible divisive ploy.

What is the danger. With the republicans in the majority, and having the speakership The democrats are still running the House.

#4, Trump stands by Johnson because he doesn’t want the House to flip to Democrat control. He wants to win this year. I stand with Trump. Not with MTG.

#7 is right! Now is not the time to look for a new Speaker. After Trump is elected (hopefully), we should have a few more Republicans in the House! Then would be the time to go through this mess again!

I reject the premise. There are no apostles in the US Congress. Stop comparing them to Jesus and start living as he requires.

Looks like many posters are ok with the Dems running things. The Dems are backing Johnson and so is DT. and the swamp. I am blessed having Jesus running my life, not self serving politicians. Have a blessed day

MTG, time for a pop quiz -
Q - It would be wise to slow down and realize something. What? If Johnson is forced to resign from the Speakership, have you given much thought to what happens if he should then resign in frustration from the House altogether?
A - The dims would then have an instant House majority. And all impeachment proceedings and criminal referrals against biden the cheater, Hunter, and a host of others would suddenly stop and disappear. The House dims would immediately go to work and start ramming through more legislation designed to strip you and us of our remaining liberties and Amerika will be here for good. So, tread carefully, ma'am.

#4 Because HE IS part of the swamp.
Different subject: I am not by any standards an overly religious person but, the Trump/Jesus comparisons are disgusting.

I wonder about MTG. Perhaps she is just rattling her shiny pink sabers (tossing it at the wall to see if it sticks)?

This whole thing of Trump approving of Johnson appears to be another inside the beltway Rino recommendation. The kind of recommendations that had the first two years of Trump's presidency look like a revolving door with people in and out every other month.

I'm with Marjorie on this one. What do we have to lose? We're losing anyway; we're not running things now; we probably won't have a country by November. Keep hoping the same ole same ole will save us.

Really... #20... calling MTG that? Stop it, just stop that trash, calling a woman a "w" in any venue, like you did - that's disgusting! As I've been observing what is happening, can anyone tell me what Johnson has done that is better than what McCarthy would have done? Actually, I think he's been more liberal than McCarthy and there are a lot of real conservative republicans, like MTG, who are fed up with speakers who promise one thing and then, cave to democrats... I know I'm sick of that; I can only imagine what conservatives... who've been promised certain conservative actions... go along with them and then, the speaker stabs them in the backs... feel about that!

I saw video clips on TV yesterday of Pelosi and jeffries:
A reporter asked Nancy if she was happy with Mike Johnson as Speaker. Her answer: 'Yes; Mike Johnson runs the house as it should be run'. (not an exact quote, but close).
Another reporter asked Hakeem if he was looking forward to being Speaker soon. His answer: 'It doesn't matter; We already get every thing we want. The House Democrats may be a slim minority, but we really do run everything in reality.' (again, maybe not an exact quote, but very close).
That really says more about Mike Johnson than what MTG OR Trump may say about him.

greene and massie know they don't have the votes as present. yet, this is a moment of clarity.
the gopintheirpants are ascared of shadows. the dems claim they'll protect maggotmike. we shall see.
so these 2 ought to be aware of the real judases, during this time of unmasking, and research the pelousy/mccarthy
bloodbath.
iirc, pelousy promised to protect the speakership of her fellow californian. instead, media reports claimed she ran to her
secret senate office, alleged to be wall-to-wall booze bottles. afaik, she did not protect him, or even vote.
she later pranced in to gloat over her treachery and the gangster knife she planted in his back.
the truth must out.

Of course she is betraying him. That's what women do. I'm a almost 86 year old woman so pay attention. No female should be allowed in govt. in any capacity. To serve in govt. you have to be born in the USA. The two biggest mistakes this country has made was to give women the vote & stopping the draft. Look around the country, everywhere there is trouble, there is a female in charge.
