Migrants and a local advocacy group in Denver protested the city's new Asylum Seekers Program that provides some short-term alleviation, saying it doesn't go far enough. Last week, Denver Mayor Mike Johnston announced what was described as "the first step" in a long-term, sustainable response to what has been dubbed a crisis that has caused city officials to examine negative impact to city services. The city is welcoming roughly 1,000 people into the city's newcomer shelter system, all of whom are potential asylum seekers who must wait at least 180 days after applying for asylum to receive work authorization. Comments:

There's no end to it. The city has already embraced 40,000 illegal immigrants, and more show up every day.

I can't feel too sorry for the people in Denver, who elected such irresponsible "leaders." Leaders who have no respect for their own constituents. The most "important" people (to Democrats) go the the front of the line, and as we see, Denver's citizens aren't the ones at the front of the line. Denver's electeds prioritized illegal aliens over American citizens. Under this corrupt administration, law abiding Americans don't count, even on their own soil. No matter how much politicians arrange to take away from citizens to satisfy the demands of illegals, it will never be enough. And it will never be appreciated.

How long is enough? Apparently nothing is too good for people who broke the law entering the country illegally. They get food, clothes, money, housing, and just about every need provided to them for free. Yet a tax paying citizen who might need some short term help is told nope, you don't qualify, for anything! Stop the freebies. If they can't afford it, they can be given a one way taxpayer funded trip back to their home country.

Well, that’s some nerve they have! They deserve nothing, not one cent. Deport every single one of them. The country will be better off for it. We either deport them or the country as we have known it, is over. Anyone have second thoughts since 2020? Maybe we should have stood our ground and fought the democrats tooth and nail then. Had we done that, the country may have been a lot better off than it is now. Who says democrats will not cheat again? And if they cannot cheat enough, who says they will confirm the electors? We’re about to see if the country can withstand the onslaught of democrat rage if they are defeated. Do you honestly believe they will go quietly into the good night? It’s going to test the mettle of the Republic like nothing has ever done so. Imagine the worst and times that by 100. The party is mentally unbalanced and emotionally driven. Nothing is sacred to them. Do you think they will give a flying fig about the Constitution? Put nothing past them because all that matters to them is retaining the power they stole from the American people in 2020.

Actually they're not wrong. "We" brought in far more people than can possibly become even close to self sufficient in 6 months. This is the reality of what the democrats have done. I don't believe I know enough about what the illegals knew or even now know about their personal role in this, what they had good reason to believe or not believe. As cruel as it may be that doesn't cause me any hesitation regarding sending them back.

The influx of illegals reminds me of a church in NYC that tried to help the community. They ‘bussed’ in poor children from all over, only to have more pain than responsible adults could handle. Soon, the church building became run-down, service order was in shatters, and the regular tithe-paying members felt cheated of their peaceful ambiance and began to leave. The excess of the poorly manneredchildren was unmanageable. Finally, the church board realized that they could only support a small amount of the chaos! They were being run over by the ignorant and unlearned. While the motive was to help the poor, there has to be a balance in the proportion. As a nation, were getting into an imbalance in our big cities.
