Alan Dershowitz Reveals One Motion He
Believes Trump’s Lawyers Must File ‘Immediately’

Original Article

Noted attorney Alan Dershowitz said Monday that attorneys for former President Donald Trump should file a motion to allow Trump to periodically skip court dates during his Manhattan trial. Judge Juan Merchan threatened Trump with arrest if he did not attend the trial regarding a $130,000 payout to porn star Stormy Daniels as part of a confidentiality agreement during Trump’s successful run for the White House after Trump asked to attend the Supreme Court’s oral arguments on presidential immunity set for April 25. Dershowitz suggested Trump’s attorneys act immediately to address Merchan’s threat, which he viewed as a form of “election interference.”

Is that legal, to demand someone be there for trial? I really don't know but don't see how it can be as long as his lawyers are there. But legal or not, the law doesn't matter when they are trying to bring down Trump. Whatever they can think of goes.

Trump’s attorneys can file motion after motion but it is going to be ruled on by a partisan hack judge. Do you honestly believe Merchan is going to rule in Trump’s favor? He has been paid big money to do what he is doing. Face it, these trials have really exposed the amount of corruption in the judiciary. Silly me, I actually thought that judges had integrity and were committed to upholding the laws of this country. I have been awakened from that dream! Our courts are hotbeds of political machinations to benefit the democrat party. The Kabuki Theater happening in NYC is truly the theater of the absurd. We have the Playbill. We know the storyline, the mangy cast of characters, and unfortunately understand the ending. A little off topic, but where in the world is the Republican leadership? Can you even imagine Nancy Pelosi’s response if this was Joe Biden being persecuted?! Mike Johnson and Mitch McConnell are too busy giving Joe Biden everything he wants to bother with such injustice. With friends like those two, who needs enemies?

While a great suggestion, the judge will will deny it the motion for two reasons. 1. He is on a power trip a wants to use his judge powers over Trump. 2. Psychological warfare! Democrats want to torture Trump by forcing him to sit through the entire trial when his presence is not necessary or required.

AD is correct, and the judge will deny any motion, however, its important that it be on the record. Violations of DJT's constitutional rights give foundational evidence of misconduct and give grounds for appeals. the SCO New York likely wont overturn this lower court decision, BUT from a constitutional and historical record, these objections need to happen.

The Senate moved Wednesday to put a premature end to the impeachment trial of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, which would make him the second Cabinet official in history to evade a conviction and removal from office — but the first to be acquitted without evidence being presented of his alleged “high crimes and misdemeanors.” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) convened the upper chamber in the early afternoon to swear in the 51 Democrats or independents who caucus with them and 49 Republicans as jurors, before offering a motion to dismiss the first of the charges without a trial. The unprecedented move set off a series of objections from Republicans,

Prosecutor Josh Steinglass asked each of the 18 prospective jurors in front of him to look across at Donald Trump and then take a long look inside themselves and decide whether they were up to the job of deciding guilt or innocence. 'You have to be able to come back from your deliberations and look the defendant in the eye and say "guilty.' The defendant knew exactly where to look. He wrenched his body around to the right facing them, and delivered a penetrating glare as each in turn answered 'yes.' It made for a dramatic moment on day two of Trump's hush money trial. The first criminal trial against former and potentially future President Donald is moving forward, with Tuesday bringing us more of jury selection. As Matt covered on Monday, the trial thus far has been incredibly unfair to Trump, and not merely because it's such a weak case. Manhattan Judge Juan Merchan, who has been criticized as "a Democratic operative in a robe," won't even let Trump attend his son's high school graduation. Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg is no better, though, as he's looking to punish Trump for violating the unconstitutional gag order thrust upon him.

It's hard to blame Donald Trump (aka Dozy Don) for apparently nodding off during the first day of his 'hush money' trial in New York on Monday. Yes, it's the first ever criminal trial of a former U.S. president and he's also the only leading presidential candidate ever to face criminal proceedings. Add to that the chance he could go to jail if he's found guilty and you might expect Trump to be paying close attention. But the early stages of the trial have been dominated by arcane legal arguments about procedural points and the interminable process of choosing a jury, now an unavoidable feature of American justice.
