New York— Twelve news organizations on Sunday urged presumptive presidential nominees Joe Biden and Donald Trump to agree to debates, saying they were a “rich tradition” that have been part of every general election campaign since 1976.
While Trump, who did not participate in debates for the Republican nomination, has indicated a willingness to take on his 2020 rival, the Democratic president has not committed to debating him again.
Although invitations have not been formally issued, the news organizations said it was not too early for each campaign to say publicly that it will participate in the three presidential and one vice presidential forums set by the nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates.

This wouldn't be a little bit of self-serving hype, would it?

Biden will be pre-fed the questions, and the panel will set Trump up. Trump has said he will debate Biden right now. That would be better than the presidential ambush debate, all questioners being brainwashed left wingers.

I don't think they make drugs strong enough and long enough for Biden to show up and in person debate Trump.

Biden will find some reason not to debate,OR he will get the questions in advance, as when Donna Brazile gave questions to Hildabeast Clinton. A fair debate will be a real surprise as I don't trust any of these MSM types.

I just have to look at what each has done to make up my mind. What they say they will do and what is actually done are two different things. Seriously, do we need debates at this point? What percentage of voters are still undecided?

No chance that either one would get the questions ahead of time from a friendly journalist, right? Just askin'.

Think what happened with the State of the Union. Biden was a disaster, yet the media played him up as a great success. Unfortunately, in live events, people get to make up their own minds and Biden lost the audience.
Beyond that, the media uses debates to attack the Republican, ESPECIALLY Trump. Biden won't know where he is but the media hack will step in as his proxy. What would be the point? Biden's team is terrified that he will have a complete meltdown that no amount of press propaganda can cover up. They cannot afford the risk.
However, if it gets bad enough for Biden, would they risk it anyway? Then, the problem becomes, What lengths would the media "hosts" go to undermine Trump? Trump usually ignores the media morons but in such a venue he couldn't and occasionally he has said things that, while correct, do not sound good. THAT is what the media would be fishing for.
I don't think Biden will debate but if he does, Trump needs to be ready for an all out, vicious attack and manage it well.

No way will Biden agree to even a single traditional debate.
His people will say Trump is beneath him and unworthy of being granted a debate by His Holiness and that a debate would only give Trump more undeserved air time.

President Donald John Trump should tell ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox, PBS, NBC, NPR and The Associated Press to stuff it. There has not been any debate for years, the organizations just want to attack President Donald John Trump and ask JoeTato puffy softball questions. We don't need debate because 99.9 % of the voters already know how they are going to vote.

Hidin’ Biden will decline. We are only going to see him twice before the election- A doped up convention speech with his wife at his side and a muddled eulogy at Jimmy Carter’s funeral- which Biden hopes occurs in October.

If there is a debate, the new RNC shouldn't pick any media types as moderator.

Urge all you like but Doctor Jill will not permit Diapers to get into the ring with The Champ. Trump would knock out what little piece of brain that Joe has left and throw it to the dogs.

Will low IQ, super senile Biden, who doesn't know what day it is, appear in a debate? Don' make me loff, mon. We'd have a better chance of seeing Adam Schiff giving the keynote address at the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. If FJB had to answer any real questions, he wouldn't know whether to load his Depends or go blind. He'd yell for sure.
