The FBI has launched a criminal probe into the Baltimore bridge collapse that killed six construction workers.
Agents will investigate whether the 22-strong crew of the Dali knew it had serious systemic issues before they left the Maryland port on March 26.
Some were seen arriving at the ship today to speak to the crew, who remain onboard. Meanwhile Baltimore's mayor said the city is bringing in outside firms to 'hold responsible all entities accountable for the Key Bridge tragedy'.
He has hired two law firms to sue Grace Ocean Private, the Singapore-based company that owns the ship.

The people really responsible have had what- almost 3 weeks?- to get their story straight.
On the other hand, Fool me Once, Shame on You. Fool me Twice, Shame on ME.
As far as I'm concerned the FIBbers have, under Comey, Wray, Zero, and the HairSniffer, lost the great amount of respect and credibility that the organization once possessed.
Once gone, it takes a long time and a lot of proven good work to restore respect and credibility.
A good start is for the next President to dismiss Wray and put a real field-experienced agent in charge of the agency.

#3, those people at the top have had decades to hire 'their kind of people' and for those people to become 'field-experienced agents'. The entire org needs to be flushed and their buildings auctioned off. Plus, if it's such a great idea to have a 'federal police force', get the states to agree to a constitutional amendment granting the federal government the authority to have one. Currently, it lacks the authority but simply took it, and our ancestors didn't drag those responsible from their offices and hang them publicly. So now their descendants have to live with the results of their perfidy and apathy.

Their first question will be how many of the crew supports Trump.
The second question will be how many of the crew are pro-life.

Nothing like, "Striking while the iron's hot," huh, Chris Wray? Our infamous FBI is faster at going after grannies who protest against the Deep State at the DC Capitol..

So much for the first 48 hours being critical to solving a case. Of course our FBI ruled out terrorism in the first 48 minutes. It is an election year you know.

Kind of sounds like the "nothing to see here" story as first reported was in some way unraveling and they needed to send in the clean up crew.

From what I understand, there are basically 12 or 13 insurance companies around the world that provide insurance for merchant vessels. They work as a group. They share the cost of maritime accidents amongst themselves so that one insurance company doesn't have to cover the entire cost of an accident. The cost of this whole thing will eventually be paid for by those insurance companies.

You would have thought that the FBI would have been aboard and investigating what happened on that foreign ship as soon as it was safe to do so, like on the morning that the ship collided with the bridge. They say that the ship was having engine problems when it was docked in Baltimore, if so, the crew from the Captain on down would have been nuts to go to sea apparently headed to Asia, crossing vast oceans, if there was a chance that the engine and/or other propulsion systems would become disabled while on route to Asia.
