Israel looking for alternative weapons
suppliers amid US criticism - report

Israel is currently trying to find a bypass to obtain weapons and raw materials from non-American outlets to overcome the material gaps of critical combat equipment, KAN News reported on Monday morning. KAN cites a security official as claiming that the "increasing criticism and delegitimization fueled by both Muslim groups and antisemites endanger the transfer of US-backed ammunition and warfare. There is concern that the tensions with the US are stimulated by the entry of Israeli troops into Rafah alongside the humanitarian issue in Gaza.[These factors] will affect Americans' willingness to continue assisting Israel with the same intensity."

The Israeli's worry about the US stopping them from purchasing American arms. It's probably something worth worrying about with us having another 9 months of Joe Biden as President. We don't know what he and Obama may decide to do. We are already short of arms ourselves from supplying Ukraine and Israel. The Israeli's can win and Ukraine cannot, .Let's keep supporting a winner. As for me I say go to Rafah and finish the job.

Heck, I'm thinking we've sent so much to the Ukrainians we're down to a couple boxes of ammo left from the Civil War and a spare bayonet from the War of 1812. Good thing is that the Israelis should be able to get some good deals on the secondary market from Ukrainian scofflaws and all the stuff Biden left in Afghanistan.

Apparently, the only entity with a huge stockpile of weapons, ammunition and military vehicles are the Taliban of Afghanistan who were gifted $85 billion of war supplies courtesy of Traitor Joe.

Berkeley plans to repeal first US gas ban 4 replies

The city of Berkeley, California, has agreed to repeal the nation’s first-ever gas ban, raising questions about the fate of similar restrictions on fossil fuels across the West. Berkeley unveiled the decision about its 2019 restrictions on gas hookups for new buildings as part of a legal agreement Friday ending a lawsuit brought by the California Restaurant Association. Berkeley said it will stop enforcing the policy while it goes through the legal process of repealing the ban. The California Restaurant Association touted the settlement, saying it should set a precedent for dozens of cities and counties in California to rescind their own gas bans modeled after Berkeley’s.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. named the Bay Area lawyer, entrepreneur and philanthropist as his running mate. She brings some welcome cash to what will be a costly effort to gain ballot access. Nicole Shanahan is a wild card. Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s vice presidential pick doesn’t have the kind of public persona typically associated with politicians. She’s not a frequent-flier on cable news, barely has a social media presence and is interested in some niche policy issues, like reproductive senescence, regenerative agriculture and gut biomes. But what Shanahan, 38, has is an abundance of wealth (which will come in handy as Kennedy mounts an expensive cross-country ballot access effort)

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit by two dozen conservative state lawmakers that claimed ballot access initiatives by President Joe Biden and Gov. Josh Shapiro usurped the state Legislature’s authority to direct federal elections in the commonwealth. U.S. District Judge Jennifer P. Wilson’s one-page order on Tuesday grants motions by state and federal officials to dismiss the case. The order also denies a request by two dozen conservative lawmakers for a preliminary injunction to block the ballot access initiatives, including Shapiro’s executive order implementing automatic voter registration for driver’s license applicants. In a statement, Shapiro said automatic voter registration is safe, secure, efficient, and entirely within his administration’s authority.

The US and its allies have weighed striking Yemen’s Houthi militants after telling them to either halt their attacks on ships in the Red Sea or face unspecified action. Washington and a dozen nations this week warned the Iran-backed Houthis would “bear the responsibility of the consequences” if they persisted with their attacks in the crucial maritime trade artery. Several military and naval experts interviewed by Bloomberg have interpreted this as a threat of imminent strikes against the group, though such a move runs the risk of making matters worse, so more limited action is also a possibility.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant flew to the US to meet with American senior officials regarding the ongoing negotiations for the release of the hostages and Israel's intention to operate in Rafah. According to IDF Maj.-Gen. Nimrod Shafer, one of the goals of the visit is to prevent an American arms embargo on Israel. In a conversation with Udi Segal and Anat Davidov on 103FM radio, Shafer added that "there is a difference between an embargo and taking certain measures. You can take all kinds of steps, for example, to slow down arms deliveries. Certain items say 'We are examining the request,' but never arrive.

Argentina is likely to finally buy US-origin F-16 fighters from Denmark, officially shelving the Chinese JF-17 Thunder Block-III jets. The deal marks the impact of the intense Great Power rivalry between the US and China in South America, where Washington is averse to having Beijing’s military equipment in its backyard. Likewise, Beijing too has been trying to leverage its advancements in defense aerospace technology by securing military sales to developing and Global South countries and presenting itself as an alternative to costly Western weapons. The announcement to this effect was made by Platform X user Milei Shelby, which the President himself ‘liked.’

The Israel Defense Forces on Monday accused Hamas gunmen of firing at troops from Shifa Hospital’s emergency room, maternity and burn wards, as the terror group claimed patients were dying due to the ongoing military operation in the facility. “Right now, Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists are barricading themselves inside Shifa hospital wards. Hamas is destroying Shifa Hospital,” IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said in an English-language video statement. “Hamas is firing from inside the Shifa emergency room and maternity ward and throwing explosive devices from the Shifa burn ward. Terrorists hiding around the hospital fired mortars at our forces, causing extensive damage to the hospital buildings.”

Japan’s Cabinet on Tuesday approved a plan to sell future next-generation fighter jets that it’s developing with Britain and Italy to other countries, in the latest move away from the country’s postwar pacifist principles. The contentious decision to allow international arms sales is expected to help secure Japan’s role in the joint fighter jet project and part of a move to build up the Japanese arms industry and bolster its role in global security. The Cabinet also endorsed a revision to Japan’s arms equipment and technology transfer guidelines to allow coproduced lethal weapons to be sold to countries other than the partners.

The project was proposed by Twin Pines Minerals, which is set to mine the metal used in a range of industrial and consumer products, including paints, plastics and cosmetics. Alabama-based Twin Pines has claimed that it plans to operate nearly 3,000 acres in the southeastern corner, located 2.9 miles from the 640-square-mile swamp's edge. The company's reassurances have done nothing to assuage locals’ anger and determination to protect the largest blackwater swamp in the country, which has largely remained untouched

The California Department of Public Health is suing El Dorado County and the city of Placervillefor banning needle exchange programs, defying state law and policies. The state has challenged the actions by both the county’s Board of Supervisors and the Placerville City Council to stop the safe syringe programs, or SSPs. The lawsuit, filed in early March in El Dorado Superior Court, not only spotlights the debate about the effectiveness of the programs but California’s assertion that local jurisdictions are not empowered to overrule state law.

At least eight states are planning to ban the sale of new gas-powered cars in the next decade - and others are considering joining them. Only zero-emission vehicles can be sold in participating states beginning from the 2035 model year, according to the Advanced Clean Cars II legislation. The rule, which was first adopted by California, means that automakers and dealerships would be banned from selling new gas cars in these states from that point onwards. Americans will not be forced to take their gas-powered cars off the road, however, and will still be able to buy used and secondhand gas vehicles. These states have gone further

He says they vote for Trump because they’re afflicted with “white rural rage.” Let’s examine the components of Krugman’s catchy phrase “white rural rage.” As for rural, it is certainly true that Trump does better in rural areas than in, say, downtown Chicago or Baltimore. Then again, everybody does better – wherever they are – than they would in the toilets of downtown Chicago or Baltimore.
