The Supreme Court didn’t dig into the weeds of the entire insurrection debate, but one obvious issue with the various efforts to remove Trump from the ballot in various states was that insurrection had been left entirely to Democrat state officials to define. That kind of nonsense however won’t fly in an actual legislative process.
Now that the Supreme Court blocked state officials from announcing that Trump can’t be on the ballot because he’s an “insurrectionist”, House members are now trying to play the same game.
Congress will have to try and act,” Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, told Axios.
What he’s saying: Raskin,

This tells how afraid they are of Trump. Something about the penalty for treason is pushing their cornered animal actions.

The dimmest of the usual dimwits are behind this latest move. The people involved are not smart enough to tie their own shoes or comb their hair.

Some acute retribution is called. Dems should be outlawed as domestic terrorists.

I wonder why they don’t take him to court. Actually, I don’t wonder. The left is unbelievably corrupt.

Hate to break it to the left but I don’t believe ANY person at the January kerfuffle has been charged with insurrection so stop yapping about it!

This, while the relentless Democrat lawfare against PDJT constituted an impeachment-couched insurrection for real. The projective hypocrisy of the Left makes me nauseous.

(referring, of course, to the endless series of impeachment efforts, some even desperately searching for a charge to make against him... After which we now have the unrelenting series of harassing lawsuits.)

How will they bring it to the floor of the House? Bet the Democrats could find four Republicans as crooked as they are to assist them. Make sure the Speaker never lets this see the light of day. Put a stake through it. Bury it six feet deep.

If the Rebublicans had any brains, which of course they d'on't, they would amend Raskin's bill to define insurrection to include activities that include BLM, Antifa, and Diaper Joe's dereliction of duty on the border. Force the Dems, including Raskin, to vote against their own insurrection bill. Pass it by Rebublicans and send it to Chuckie and his lapdog McConnell to deal with it in the Senate.

Will the wimpy Republicans who with their RINO faction supposedly control the House of Representatives allow such a partisan Democrat bill on the floor to be voted on with Trump currently being the leading Republican Presidential Candidate? We could be surprised!

Boob bait for the far left base who are too stupid to know that ex post facto laws and bills of atainder are expressly prohibited by the Constitution.

Will the Democrats include members of Congress in their insurrection/giving aid & comfort to the enemy legislation? If so, they better be sure to include people who slept with Chinese spys. They need to be sure that they include people who commission fake dossiers from Russia to use to help try to overthrow a sitting president (twice) and lie to the American people about their authenticity for years. They need to be sure to include members who call for their followers to attack their political opponents when they are in public spaces. They need to include people who openly support ANITFA, HAMAS, BLM, and other America hating groups who would see the free speech rights of everyday American removed to promote their radical communist agenda. There will be far fewer Democrats (and a few less Republican RINOS) if this were to pass.

This would be a bill of attainder, prohibited under Article I, Section 9 of the Constitution. The Supreme Court would slap that down too.
