House Republicans were shocked by some of the recent high-profile retirements announced by their colleagues, which have included powerful committee chairs and rising stars inside the GOP.
But given the miserable state of affairs inside the House right now, they also weren’t exactly surprised.
“They’ve signed up to do serious things. And we’re not doing serious things,” said Rep. Ken Buck of Colorado, a conservative who is retiring after bucking his party on several key issues.
Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska, a moderate who represents a key swing seat, pointed to his party’s struggle to govern as driving the departures.

The more literate of our RINO herd, reading the writing on the wall?

I wouldn't place too much faith in CNN's characterization of Republicans.

The "serious things" not getting done are only in the eyes of the RINO's, so there's the door.

Rep. Ken Buck of Colorado......February 14, 2024.........."Reps. Mike Gallagher, R-Wis., Ken Buck, R-Colo., and Tom McClintock, R-Calif., bucked their party to side with Democrats in opposing Mayorkas' impeachment."
November 1, 2023......

I don't have to place much faith in CNN, I have eyes and ears.
When the Senate Republicans vote with the democrats to give away Billion of dollars with no provision to stop the invaders at our border, I know we are in the deep poop. When Chuck the Schmuck states how great it is to work with Mitch McConnell on this same bill I don't need CNN to tell me what is happening.

Not a fan of CNN, but the article is 90% quotes from “Republicans.”
They can’t keep their mouths s h u t.
But if the Communists smell blood (and I think they do), a majority in the House and/or Senate, even with a Trump presidency, spells doom.

Tom McClintock has been a disaster. Elected over and over from a protected district - a cemetery? - and never able to win statewide office, no one knows who he is. Clearly not the conservative he was touted to be.

Winners never quit and quitters never win.
Notice Nancy Pelosi remained in office even though she's not the Speaker anymore?
Progressive Democrats stay for the duration, until they get the job done they want done.

These money grubbers are just doing the same thing they've been doing throughout their long lucrative careers ... 'front-runnning'!! They see the gravy train is about to end and if they stay they'll be exposed for the corrupt Pols they are! I say its a good thing.

Great, the RINOs are leaving. Now we can run solid Republican candidates to replace them without a fuss.
