WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden rebuked former President Donald Trump on Tuesday for recently saying that he would encourage Russia to attack NATO nations that he thought had insufficiently spent on defense as part of the mutual protection agreement.
"The former president has sent a dangerous, and shockingly, frankly, un-American signal to the world. Just a few days ago, Trump gave an invitation to Putin to invade some of our NATO allies," Biden said in remarks from the White House. Biden continued: "He said if an ally didn't spend enough money on defense, he would encourage Russia to, 'Do whatever the hell it wants.' Can you imagine?

Biden’s perspective of financial aid is a little skewed, as he earned his 50 million dollar net worth on an annual salary of 175k.

He was speaking in hyperbole (which is something Biden should appreciate) . In FJB’s case he will commit American resources to any country the pays off the Biden Crime Family.

Joe Biden conceives of NATO as an American military military umbrella under which European nations pay no more for their own defense than they find convenient. In contrast, Donald Trump sees NATO as an actual military alliance whose collective strength is based on each nation paying the full cost of its own defense. Since our national debt and yearly deficits are now both figured in trillions, I suspect that most Americans agree with Trump's allegedly "un-American" view of NATO..

If European nations can't see fit to pay for their own defense, why should the USA? Much of the EU makes fun of and slams the US as inferior to their enlightened ways and superior socialist perks. Of course, they can only afford this because the US pays to defend them while they flitter away with their three month vacations and free health care. Contribute to their own defense.... That is for others to do.

I believe Trump meant to tell the countries not paying their fair share to put up or get out.
The US is tired of taking up the slack.

I talked to a friend of mine today who lives in Italy, and he does not like Trump. However, he completely agrees with the logic of Trump‘s statement. I suspect he is in a minority in the second position, but not as to the first position.
It could be that one BB of logic at a time will tilt the scales in Trump’s favor.
On a different note, i continue to be shocked at prices here in Dallas. Last night a sandwich at a very small, hole in the wall restaurant = $20. Cookie and cupcake = $12. Auto insurance up $50/month. Will these prices finally penetrate to people’s immediate awareness and revolt them?
Meanwhile, Joke “too stupid to arrest” Bidet stumblebums on.

Seem to recall reading that Germany agreed to start paying the minimum 2% of their GDP as their obligation to NATO shortly after Trumps comments.

At a time when the press is thirsty to change the subject from Biden, our candidate once again gives them exactly what they want, a thoughtless aside that turns into an own goal. Of course the press got it wrong (see comments above), but the story's out there, exactly what they want.

In reality, Trump is right, as chances are those cheapskate NATO countries who have not been paying their fair share of NATO defense costs will immediately pay up, once they learn that Trump has won the 2024 US general election and is headed back to the White House.

16, no, that did not happen. They are misquoting him dramatically out of context about something he said years ago to our NATO allies to get them to pay up.

#20. Of course the press misquotes him, but he unecessarily brought up the subject himself in Conway, South Carolina last Saturday.

One would think that after nearly eight years, the media and the dems would catch on to Trump's generous use of sarcasm. Sure, we would continue to help deadbeat NATO countries that were attacked but there might be a slight delay in the arrival of the US Cavalry.
